It's almost like a full investigation is needed.

For the sake of trying to have a discussion about this I have a question, don't they have a right to try to publish an equal amount of articles across all races, ethnicities, sexes, etc? I get where you can flip that argument and say if a publisher made a point to say we need to publish more white men's articles that would be sexist and racist. But that doesn't appear to be case because a majority of journalists are white men some data to back this up. I'm making an attempt to see this from both…

I think the intention of this similar to stepping up to bullies which is a good thing however I do agree that it all depends on the situation.

I can see there being some race privilege to this as well however if this was a male there would be much more media and publicized outrage.

I may be naive but I think this world needs all kinds of people, the biggest problem IMO is the propaganda and misinformation that's so easy to spread and be believed by people, not just "stupid" people.

Any word is dependent on context. I can make "beautiful" sound terrible. Edit: a word

I understand why it's in human nature to prioritize improving one's own situation but is it out of the question to be able to support everyone's rights including people who are a different race, ethnicity, sex, gender, etc?

This needs to continue to be emphasized for all people. We're still learning how to properly interactive with all the different kinds of people in our world.

I understand that she's trying to be funny and that a lot of the messages she receives are hate filled but she has to understand you need to be able to take as much as you give.

I feel the exact same way but if you even hint and a defense of feminism on this subreddit you get downvoted like crazy. I thought this would be a good place for discussion but instead there's a lot of just feminist bashing. Not all feminism is bad just like not all men's rights activists are pro-rape.

I think it has to do more with the attitude of males who go to college; seems less focused on their studies and setting themselves up for what they would like to do next in their life.

Interesting. I understand the points, though do believe a lot of the examples such as dangerous work, are separate issues that should not be looped into the wage gap discussion. The big issue for men is that women are the significantly higher group that attend college and attain degrees at a higher level. This is extremely concerning that young men are either not motivated or not financially capable of attaining college degrees.

There are still plenty of issues even for white, attractive women so these comments are off base (e.g. gender wage gap, body stereotypes, et al.) However, the point is that things have gotten a lot better is the last 25 years for white, upper-middle class women and that's where feminism needs to change.

To think that anyone who had the idea to make a penis out of snow was really intending to use it as a symbol of rape and oppression gives the creator way too much credit.

I think we're in a really tricky place in society where we're forced to tip-toe the line of what's offensive and what's free speech. The problem is that a lot of people don't understand what true racism and sexism (there are more examples I know) mean and we are forced to point out when people go over the line, however those people take that as impugning their free speech. This is a perfect example of where these lines get so crossed that this idea, perceived as "sexist" (to make an overgenerali…
