I agree, kinda. But I'm also curious to see what the case history on situations like this might be. I could, could, see it maybe turning out that men who defend themselves against women get successfully charged more often than men that defend themselves against other men. I'm certain that people who defend themselves often get charged for it. At least in the states. The cops and DA don't always care who started the fight or why.

I think we have to learn to take basically anything anyone says on the internet with a grain of salt. I feel like there's a lot of extreme statements people make that don't really reflect their personalities. They're just venting or in a bad mood and there's no real social repercussions for lashing out on the internet.

Makes you wonder if maybe behind the scenes there wasn't some huge fight after this.

Then that lawyer is the one who should be sued or at the very least disbarred. Don't blame it on the system. Blame it on the people who pervert the system. Hell go after the judge if you have to. But don't go after the state. That's just taking money from taxpayers who had nothing to do with it. Go after the individuals who fucked up. Hold them accountable. Don't let them put that responsibility off on an institution.

Gladly. You want to absolve me of any responsibility for the course of humanity going forward? You can have it. Good luck.

150k? That's a mighty awful lot. As a delusional person myself I think I could get by if you'd put up say... $3.50

If the video is provided they wouldn't. They'd lock them all up. That's what cops do when there's a fight. I'm not a pro-cop sort at all. I think there's a lot fucked up about policing in the US. But when it comes to fighting they do not give a shit about your race, gender, income, what-have-you. If you were fighting you're going to jail.

It's the way to go. Maximum pain, minimum damage. It says, "this was a warning. I can strike you. It will hurt." without causing any lasting effects. People who are stupid enough to assault someone to begin with are not being rational. They are being animals. Which is why pain is good. Animals respond to pain.

I mean his move was respectable. She was wrong and he knew it. It's one thing to support the people you love. It's an entirely other thing to enable their bad behavior.

Feelings are the root of all prejudice. I feel like the black people are lesser than me. Make them go to different schools. I feel like the Jews are a threat to me. Put them in camps. I feel like that man across the street might harm me. Put him in jail. Feelings are irrational. Sometimes they line up with a rational line of thought. But that line of thought isn't the same as the feeling. The feeling just is. We mustn't trust feelings.

Get a custom stamp with the entire story on it. Stamp every damn check with it. She can have the money. But not without anyone who touches the check hearing his side of the story.

Ignorance in her part sure. Indifference or malice on the part of the prosecutorial team though is a real possibility. Made even more real by the studies you just mentioned. If memory is that fallible then how can one person's testimony be enough to convict? To take that further, if these researchers were able to implant false memories into groups of people then how can any amount of corroborating testimony stand?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
