And what of the men and the women in the lower levels who weren't given the better jobs or a raise? Imo, if you want to feel like anything, the military isn't for you. In the army, you're supposed to give up your sense of self, and are expected to function as a single, uniform unit, that serves a much larger system. This take might sound archaic, but that's just how I see it. There's a reason they make them wear similar clothes and have them march in order
