| Odes says her supervisor informed her that the shop’s Orthodox Jewish owners (male, natch) didn’t appreciate her busty appearance. Seriously, OP, don't post sensationalist titles that can easily be refuted by reading the article.

It has nothing to do with men's rights. This is just an anti-woman circlejerk.

This article is not very comprehensive. She was not trying to abort the fetus. She was trying to kill herself after an immensely traumatic experience. The child's scumbag father abandoned her - this article gleans over it, but they had started a business together, and he backed out, leaving her financially fucked. I believe she also found out he had a wife, but its been a while since I read the initial news reports. tl;dr THIS IS NOT A MEN'S RIGHTS ISSUE YOU FUCKIN' SCUMBAGS.

Honey, I don't think we read the same article. "Reach for partners that make you better," Michelle Obama said. "Do not bring people in your life who weigh you down. And trust your instincts. Good relationships feel good, they feel right...It's with the people you surround yourselves with, and that's just as important as the school that you choose."

Posts like this REALLY discredit the MR movement. This is just nitpicky and whiny.

Shame on OP for the misleading title and shame on everybody who's upvoting this. This isn't REMOTELY MR related.

Of course, anyone with a world experience different from yours must be either the enemy or just incapable of perception. Enjoy living in that world, friend.

Men who view a woman's sexuality as a commodity to be bought and sold.

Its more that I worried that my descriptions of my boyfriend's devoted caretaking might somehow be perceived as me "taking advantage" of him, or being controlling, I guess. A lot of our friends rag on him for doing things like offering to give me a foot rub or get me a drink, calling him whipped and telling him I should be the one doing that. (And I am the one doing that, sometimes, but nobody notices when its the girl being subservient.) I guess we're used to being a little defensive.

Phew, for some reason I was irrationally afraid that posting this in /r/mensrights was going to result in getting flamed.

I can relate to this. My boyfriend has been unemployed for a while. His mom pays his half of the rent, so it isn't too much of a financial strain, but I'm the breadwinner for everything else, including gas, bills, food, dates and such. My friends never stop putting him down and say he's holding me back, and its so frustrating. He treats me like royalty. He drives me to and from work every day and anywhere else I want to go. He's in charge of laundry (we don't have a machine so he takes it to his…

Well, she'll definitely attract only the sort of men she deserves...

Okay, so the thing here is - this sort of "discrimination" isn't in favor of women. The idea is, cheaper drinks for women = women in their establishment will be more intoxicated, thusly making them easier to take advantage of and attracting sleazy male patrons. So I personally wouldn't qualify this one as a men's rights issue.

The Holocaust is in the past; prison rape is a problem still prevalent today.

When we'd make mother's day gifts in school, I'd change it to "fathers" day, and the teacher would tell me I did it incorrectly and have to start over. I eventually just kept it as "mother's day" and before I saw my dad I would add "Mr." at the beginning to make it "Mr. Mother's day". I just lost it at this section of your story and started crying. What a sweet, clever, wonderful thing for a child to think of. I can't even comprehend how deep your father's love and pride for you must be. Please …

Posts like this aren't helpful to the movement. I know its supposed to be satire, but it isn't clever and just makes the whole subreddit look ignorant.
