Going through itIs this what your attorney told you? Because if the house/title/mortgage are all in your name alone then it’s my understanding things become more murky. There may be a scenario where she’s only entitled to what she contributed to the mortgage but even that could be chalked up in the same category of paying rent. I’m not a lawyer but did deal with having to sell the marital residence, and was advised I wouldn’t have had to do so if the loan only had my name on it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/09/23 03:40 AM
Your salary after separationDude’s been separated for a month in this scenario. I’d be shocked if financial disclosures are done already. Odds are good that they haven’t been and you’re legally obligated to provide recent pay stubs. | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/08/23 11:19 AM
Counterpoint to dating earlyI think it really depends on the person and situation they’re coming out of. My ex was on all the apps less than a week after I served her. I held off for a little bit but ended up on some too. Bumble and hinge were great. Ex and I were basically separated for a year (nothing physical at all) when I filed and a completely one sided emotional relationship. I was ready to get back out there and mentally prepared for it by the time I filed. | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/06/23 03:11 PM
Men teaching men - asking for advice and your insightsJust coming on here and spelling it all out the way you did definitely tells us you already know the answer to your own questions. You’re still young and not even engaged. She’s already taking off her mask to show you who she really is. You don’t want to marry or have children with someone that’s not going to be a partner to you. The good news is that you found all of this out before you got trapped and can walk away relatively unscathed. It’s really not “no biggie” that you’re financially suppo… | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/04/23 02:58 PM
Financial StressLol I feel ya. And I’ve had that same thought. Be great to just straight up stop worrying about any bills but someone has to live in the real world. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/04/23 09:42 PM
Financial StressNot specifically that I’m aware of but she did agree to half of daycare costs through her attorney (has yet to contribute to that). Kinda freaking out that she’s going to get out of her responsibility for half of shared bills since it’s really screwed me financially. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/04/23 09:33 PM
Financial StressFor sure. Wish I had more free time for a side gig. I’ve got an early schedule which allows me to have our daughter like 65% of the time so when I’m not working I’m pretty much on daddy duty. Wouldn’t change that for the world but the financial stuff is crazy stressful. Edit: I’m really glad to hear a grind it out success story like yours and I’m happy you’re in a much better place with everything now. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/04/23 09:28 PM
Financial StressWe still lived together for 4 months after separation and she contributed less than a third of our mortgage payment for 3 of those. Paid nothing the last months. So, all utilities, most of the mortgage, car insurance and childcare all fell on me. Since we’ve lived separately she’s contributed nothing to childcare or car insurance ( our last remaining joint bills). She’d agreed through her attorney’s to cover half of childcare and from what I understand she’s also responsible for 50% of all other… | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/04/23 07:09 PM

Wife makes plans without meBro, that sucks and you need to get out. That’s no way to live. One thing that stuck out to me about your post was the comment about her getting a job. What’s the problem with that? | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/09/22 02:10 PM
