I work with 15 year olds. They're dumb as rocks. This one is clearly more dumb than most. Tell them how amazing life would be if she joined and how they'll look after her and what an amazing life she would have. Likely over several years by people she looked up to..not too hard to understand how she would buy into that.
If a jury of her peers decided to strip her of her citizenship - which I'm not sure they even can - fair enough. But a home secretary is not judge, jury and executioner and nor should they be.

And your punishment for that would be to be put in front of a judge and jury. Who would look at the entire circumstances. And likely, if you had a background of abuse that led to your crippling addiction you'd likely be treated more leniently. She's not had the right to have those circumstances considered.
