5	Straight women reading seddit...why? Following on from that thought... the best "defence" against the ideas suggested in seddit would almost certainly be to approach things completely differently. Going out to a bar, waiting for people to approach you and trying to filter out sedditors is unlikely to be practical. 13	Straight women reading seddit...why? I'm cynically tempted to suggest that the correct phrasing is "so they can try to screen you out". From what I can tell (and I'll be honest, I'm mostly an inactive lurker here, so haven't tried any of the advice), seddit isn't really suggesting anything that radically new, so much as pointing out what works for others, and that practice makes perfect. 1	Are women aware of the pickup community now? Given my first introduction to the idea was through a female friend (who was sleeping with the guy in question, on and off), yes. I think the lesson here is that there is no single solution. Much of what you can learn on seddit will work with many of the women you meet, irrespective of whether they consciously realise what you're doing. I don't think hollowgram is trying to compare, I think hollowgram is (correctly) guessing that some readers of seddit will be high functioning autistics, and the article/comment will be of interest to them.
