I don’t think it is about someone holding your key to happiness. But someone can certainly take happiness away, cause misery and make your life a living hell. All I want is to avoid that so happiness has a chance to flourish.

"and able to walk away" That's key. Emphasis on "able". Many women in relationships, especially if narcissistic abuse is evident, feel their men/victims are not ABLE. Show you have the means to correct that ship.

Dude. Don't even. I was a lit fan and fell for the "Taming of the Shrew" trap. That shit is Shakespearean fantasy for a reason.
