If you can get into a decent school your job placement rate will be over 90% and the average starting salary (depending on location) is over 80-90k no experience (in my location, in others its crazy higher... all of this depends on location). Hell I'm in Canada and I went to a decent school. I majored in engineering and literally everyone I know from chemical to mechanical to electrical to civil who got a job works in software. There's just no jobs otherwise.
