My wife's aunt and uncle are 73 and 83. He was drafted right out of high-school and wound up doing multiple tours in Vietnam instead of dating and marrying any of the girls in his class. By the time he got back, all the good ones were gone. So he married a 17 year old when he was 27. Totally normal back then, and nobody would call him a pedophile today with his wife of almost 6 decades that he has 2 kids and 6 grandkids with. My wife and I have full access to each other's phones. She can look at what she wants. I just warned her, for her own good, not to look at my group chat with my old Marine buddies. Cop 100% deserves murder 1 Be careful of the trap of over charging. Murder one in most states requires "malice aforethought", or in other words, premeditated action. You must get deeply into intent to get a conviction. A lesser charge may be more appropriate, and easier to get a conviction on. Second degree murder can be proven for "extreme recklessness" which is a much more objective standard, and doesn't require proving the officer's state of mind.

If he had just fired the first shot alone, I'd still be intensely angry. But the coup de grass of a mag dump on a guy crumbling to the ground in his underwear in his own home.....that is absolutely inexcusable. There is no way to reasonably articulate the need to continue firing. If we are talking about a mass shooter still holding a gun, fine, waste em. But this whole "he had a knife" thing is utterly indefensible. No way he could be perceived as a threat as he collapses like putty.

I served with tons of highly capable and qualified women in the Marines. Just like males, we had a few famale duds. But taken as a whole, they added to our capabilities. I have issues with trying to cram women into every corner of the military by ignoring things like bone density and muscle mass, but women have 100% proven their worth as valuable military assets. Its time to equalize the draft.

I had three daughters. I found out after we were done having kids that my wife and I would have been in a bitter, possibly divorce causing battle if we had had a boy. Somehow the conversation never came up before, but she absolutely would not budge that foreskins are icky and have to go. It actually changed the way i look at her and we never even had to deal with the issue other than to stop talking about it. This is the biggest reason I refused to have a 4th.

I've had several female bosses (Marine Corps Officers, non infantry field) and I found them to be quite capable. Rather than being the [ball buster] stereotype, most of them just wanted to be effective leaders and gain the trust of their subordinates. I'm self employed now, but I really don't think I'd ever have an issue with a female boss, other than the individual gripes or complaints one would have with any boss.

I don't think rape has nearly as many meanings as you think. Sexual assault, sure, but not rape. In California where I live, rape could be penetration of the anus or vagina with a penis, finger or any other foreign object, or penetration of the mouth with a penis without consent. Sex however, is strictly defined as penile/vaginal intercourse. There are many other things that fall under the umbrella of "sex acts" such as oral/anal.

I see your point, but in THIS case "raped" would be ambiguous, as it could mean many different acts. I think "sex" as used in this headline is meant to imply penile/vaginal penetration, which is astounding considering the male involved is an infant. Now if they had said "had sex" instead of "raped" in a case where a 25 year old woman had relations with a teenage male, I would share your outrage.
