Man, no one is wanting to make it harder to punish rapists! Rapists are sick fucks who I want to see thrown in prison. And just because an accused rapist isn't convicted doesn't mean the accusation was false. But there are cases, where the accusation was provably a lie, and those people need to punished. It won't hurt actual rape victims at all! Are there ACTUALLY rape victims who won't come forward because four witches in a cab are on video accusing a man of rape over $13 cab fare? "Oh no, thes…

That's why this is advice for men (actually just a rant) on how to deal with those people when they do encounter them.

People can care about more than one type of victim. People can, but the type of person that sides with a false accuser typically don't.

Welcome to /r/mensrights. Yes, there are really people that think that way. They deny that false rape reporting happens more than once or twice, and they do not believe in punishing those who do it, because they think that it will make real victims less likely to come forward. I think letting women make false accusations with impunity causes more false accusations, and leads to a boy-who-cried-wolf scenario where actual rape victims are less likely to be believed, and thus false rape accusations…

I didn't miss that and it doesn't matter. My point was "no adults without children" can be a sensible choice, depending on the nature of the business and who they are catering to. I don't have to know shit about Legoland in particular. Maybe if I knew more about what they actually had there, I'd conclude it WAS a stupid rule, for them. My point is not to defend Legoland in particular, but to point out that the people attacking Legoland know just as little as I do about their facility and are att…

I have to honestly say that you come across as somewhat ignorant of geek culture and how widespread it is. Hahahah! Sorry, I'm laughing because I have a Transformers/My Little Pony crossover T-shirt in my shopping cart at welovefine.com right now. I ABSOLUTELY understand people being into stuff that other people think is just for kids. Hell, I still used to go to playgrounds before I had kids of my own; but I usually went at night so as to not get in the way of the kids whose playground it actua…

This is not Legoland, it's a version of it designed specifically for 3-12 year old kids. There are LOTS of places that are designed for kids, and have rules like this: No adults admitted without children. No children admitted without adults. You don't have to have your OWN kid, if a party of 5 adults and one child goes in, fine, the point is it's for families. As a parent, I like that I can go places where things are designed around the children. You can let them run and play, and the only adult…

Part of his problem was thinking of himself more highly than he ought. He's just a boyfriend. That's not his step-daughter. That's his girlfriend's daughter. From her view, that's her mom's boyfriend. The girl probably figures that everything the "step-dad" paid for is really from her mom. Her mom paid for college. Her mom was paying for a wedding. The boyfriend is just an extension of the mom, not a step-dad. Not saying they aren't ungrateful and awful people, but he actually expected WAY too m…

It can certainly be intended to be solely for pleasure, and I'm all for that. But our intent doesn't trump basic biological fact. I might want to eat a gallon of ice cream solely for pleasure, not trying to put on weight, but my desires don't change reality. Babies happen as a result of sex. You have sex, you are gambling that you might create a baby. You don't want a baby? Use protection. Protection failed? You gambled, the odds were overwhelmingly on your side, but you still lost. Because it w…

Sex is not consent to a child. Not all responsibilities arrive through consent and intention. Currently you are arguing that women should not be allowed to have abortions because she has already accepted all the risk of it when she had sex. Care to think again? Millions of people believe abortion is wrong. Hence my initial statement of "2 wrongs don't make a right." You know those "baby abandonment stations" where women can ditch their kids after birth? Those exist because without them, many wom…

It's fairly scary that you can't even contemplate a reason for not being in favor of it. If a man has sex with a woman, he risks becoming a father, whether he wants to or not. Hell, when I became a father it wasn't intentional. I was using protection. It failed. That was not the baby's fault and I see no reason I should be permitted to abandon a child for someone else to take care of, whether the mother, or the government, or whoever. People reap consequences of their unintended actions all the …

At no point have I said what she did was justified. Yeah, I know. At no point did I suggest you said that. At no point did I suggest he didn't cheat. I just said she shouldn't have expected marital fidelity. On account of not being in a marital relationship.
/r/MensRights06/04/13 12:12 AM

do you expect your boyfriend or girlfriend to remain faithful? Well, sure, but dating isn't marriage, so the level of betrayal is not as extreme. They were married and everything fine and shockingly, he's cheating. They got divorced, were going to get back together, and wow, he's a cheating scumbag. That sucks, but doesn't justify killing.

Well, now, I'm not totally against adultery being punished by death... I mean, I think if you come home and find your spouse fucking someone in your bed, you should be able to just shoot them in the heat of betrayal. But she missed the window. I mean, they'd been divorced for 6 years. She had no reasonable expectation of marital fidelity from someone she wasn't married to, right?

Oh, I wasn't saying anything about you not being a man, I don't know you. I wasn't even saying that women can't teach their sons to be men, because I'm sure some can. I was just speaking about myself. I learned to be a man from a friend's dad, from a teacher at high school, and inversely from my father. Fallacy: pay is not determined by how hard people work. A person that mans the drive-through at a fast food joint works much harder than I do, sitting at my desk surfing reddit all day and occasionally doing a little computer work. I don't make a lot of money but I definitely make more than the fast food worker. How fair is that? Hard work != high pay. It's about supply and demand. It's about what the people paying the checks can get away with.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Kill_Bill_characters#Elle_Driver_.28California_Mountain_Snake.29 has this: When Bill learns that the Bride survived the attempt on her life, he orders Elle to go kill her at the hospital where she was then lying comatose. Disguised as a nurse, Elle nearly injects the Bride with a deadly poison when Bill calls her to abort the mission. Though Elle wanted to kill the Bride while she was incapacitated, she abides by Bill's wishes.

In which case she is perfectly justified in her hunch not to have and raise a kid with him, muchless stay in a relationship with someone so violent and controlling of her? If she were just a mobster's girlfriend, that would be an accurate statement. But she was a stone cold killer herself, so it's at the very least hypocritical. This is a really stupid post. Bill does try and kill The Bride when she's in the hospital, hence why Elle turns up at the hospital in the first movie. Right, but he calls Elle and says not to kill her. He changed his mind. She enjoys the murder because she feels she is avenging her daughter. Bill's supposition is that she enjoys it because she is a killer at heart, and his interpretation seems to make sense. she knew Bill would want to raise the child to be a bodyguard/hitman- something that he still might be doing, hence wh…

Let me take your argument a little farther then. For each sport, there only needs to be the offer for the opposite sex to form a team. So a school changes their offered sport dynamic somewhat. Football, Wrestling, Rugby. If there are not enough girls to play those, there is no longer a girls athletics program. Easily remedied by seeking for equivalence instead of sameness. Require the funding to be equal; girls will have teams that they want instead of forcing mirror images of boys' sports. If o…

Title IX is crap. Here's how this shit should work. There is a girl's team. A boy wants to play. Form a boy's team then. If there are not enough boys that even WANT to play field hockey... then tough crap for the ones that do. We tried. There isn't enough interest. Can you play on the girls team? Maybe. Gender-segregated sports make sense sometimes. Whether this is one of those times or not is up for debate. But if it's determined that this is one of the sports where we want to keep the sexes se…

You care about truth, as I do. You have arrived at your opinions by an examination of the evidence. Your mistake may be in thinking that other people who share your beliefs also share the same method of arriving at them. They do not. People that treat prison rape is "part of the punishment" are fucking assholes. Okay, puns aside, most of the people who laugh at prison rape would not themselves rape anyone. They simply don't care because they can blame the victim and say they deserved it. I think it's the same reason that people care if children or pets are hurt in fiction, but not so much if they are adults. If a child or pet is harmed, you always feel bad, because you know that they never deserved it. If an adult is killed, you may not feel as bad because you may be able to imagine a circumstance where you might kill someone, but you cannot imagine ever harming a child, or committing a rape. People can kill for all sorts of reasons, not all of them bad, killing in self defense,…

I'm all for hurting rapists, but yeah, let's have some due process here. Lots of women lie about rape. In fact, the more people believe them without any evidence, the more likely that more women will lie about it. An innocent guy being called a rapist is bad enough, being injured or killed because of it is a complete offense against justice. If he's guilty, let's have a trial, and if found guilty, then let's beat the shit out of him. Let's suppose though that there is no doubt as to his guilt. W…

If you have sex you are risking creating a child, with all the responsibilities and benefits that that entails. (If someone screws you out of the benefits, I don't see how that absolves you of the responsibilities.) If you don't want to be a father, either get a vasectomy, or don't have sex.

Well I wouldn't, of course, unless there was a pretty extreme situation, as in the children were being harmed or something and there was no legal way to stop it. I just see a lot of horror stories about fathers complaining about how they were powerless in their children's lives and would not want that to happen. Thanks! That is kind of what I was thinking. Obviously a cabin in the middle of nowhere is superior to children being abused, but if they were safe, just didn't have their Dad, then it wouldn't be in their best interest to do anything like that. What matters is what is best for them, not me. I guess I have been so beaten with the idea that female is a trump card I forgot that money can be too. My wife is not abusive, this is all just theoretical. Suppose she became abusive? Suppose she left me and took the kids and the court sided with her, but then she started leaving them in the care of her parents who ARE abusive? I'd rather remove my kids from an abusive environment and risk prison than leave them abused so I can work hard and give all my money to the one letting them be abused. But again, this is all just in theory, and not "wink wink nudge nudge" theory either.

I would absolutely murder my wife if I knew (not suspected, but knew 100%) that she smothered my baby. What happened to me after that, I can't imagine caring all that much about. But there is no way I could live on this earth knowing she killed my child so she could go fuck some dude. Holy crap, how does that happen and you just send it in to postsecret?

Trust: the condition necessary for betrayal to take place. You didn't just use trust, you also used faith.

I know this sounds bad It does sound bad. Man up. Take the test. If it's your baby, do your best. You're going to be paying anyway, might as well get something out of it. Fatherhood is the single best thing that ever happened to me. Don't be a pussy. If you didn't want kids, you shouldn't have been fucking. Fucking causes kids. If you're in college, you should know this. Jerking off is cheaper and doesn't create new people. If you were using condoms and they failed, you have my sympathy. Otherwi…

male circumcision seems to be done out of health concerns No. Male circumcision is done because it's part of the culture. The health concerns are after-the-fact rationalization. There's no other part of the body people would rush out and remove if they read "Scientists say there's a 2% improvement in such-and-such" in the damn newspaper. Wouldn't you need an awful lot of justification if someone told you it was beneficial to remove a child's earlobes? An article in the Times just wouldn't cut it…

How about surgically removing the left earlobe, if it prevented ear infections in 2% of cases?

Women aren't all the same, but the women YOU are capable of attracting probably are. That says lots about YOU about not a lot about the 3.5 billion women in the world. I know a woman who has married and divorced three ex-cons. She thinks men are all the same. No, just the type of bad-boy she is attracted to and is able to attract in return. And finally: if you want to be happy for the rest of your life, never make a pretty woman your wife. So from my personal point of view, get an ugly girl to m…

redoubted PM'ed me, not sure why, but here's my response: Not sure why you PM'd instead of doing a comment reply. Anyway, my advice goes for everybody, pretty much. Sometimes people offend me and I suck it up because it's not worth saying anything. If that's the case, then I don't let it bother me and I probably don't even mention it to anyone else except maybe in passing. If it really bothers me though, I let the person know. Basically if someone is being shitty, I feel an obligation to give th…

People need to stop being such pussies. I don't mean they need to stop getting offended at remarks that are clearly offensive. I mean they need to man up and say something instead of whinging on the internet about it. "Oooh she has trained you so well." Stop what you're doing, turn around, glare at her, and say "I don't appreciate the condescension." Get in the habit of saying "I find that offensive" and two things will happen: People stop saying offensive things like that to you. People tell yo…

I am a completely awesome dad. I don't have time for myself really, but that's okay. When I am not at work, I am taking care of my daughter and playing with her and she is very happy. My own parents were pretty crappy, so I am doing my best to do everything right. It all boils down to one thing: my daughter is the #1 priority in my life. And it's not just words, it is borne out by my actions. That's it. For too many parents, their kids may be loved by they just aren't the priority. Other things …

The guy sounds like a complete asshole, but even assholes have the right to decide who to give their money to. My brother is a total dick that didn't even visit my mom when she lay dying. Consequently she disinherited him. If the government decided that was unfair and took away property that's already in my possession... that'd be total bullshit. This doesn't belong in mensrights though, as far as I can tell. The genders of the participants doesn't seem relevant.
