Very nice effort, if you have any AA, you fought it well that night. However, your "...." tells me you already know how that bit turned out. "Well that doesn't work out for me" (what doesn't work out? what kind of transaction are we negotiating here?) was your cue to smile and say, "okay, bye then!" and go dance with someone else. Worst case you don't have to pay for drinks, best case you don't have to pay for drinks and she comes back later.

No need to be so aggressive about it. If she offers her purse to you for no reason other than to shit test you, just chuckle and say no thanks. If she's doing something that requires both hands, why not hold her purse for a minute? Then when she's done, give it back. It's her purse, so obviously she will be carrying it when you start moving again. Help her hold stuff like you would with any normal friend. If I wasn't clear enough, I support saying that it's a date. Btw, there is no "right" or "wrong". Girls are crazy in general, and on top of that they're all individuals too. Just try it and see what happens.

Fun is key. What you are inviting her to is not just "a date", it is a fun time, which also happens to be a date. No reason to conceal the fact that it's a date or that you fancy her (if that puts her off, she won't be yours anytime soon anyway), but it always has to be fun/something you can both enjoy.
