I tried it a few times; it didn't come back thicker or darker, but it comes back with a blunt end rather than a tapered one, so it feels like male stubble

I played a lot until I swapped jobs a few months ago. My all time faves are Dota 2, civ, R6 siege, quake 3 and any co-op puzzle game, ever. Man, I'm gonna boot something up this weekend. I've had my eye on Frostpunk for a while, I might get that.

I struggle with this as well. It's such useless advice, but planning ahead so you don't have to tornado around after a full day is the only way I've found to stay on top of it; meal prep, tidying at a leisurely pace at the weekend, having a washing schedule etc allow me to take a breath when I get home and not be a manic whirlwind of "I just need to get this done, then I can be a nice person to be around again." That, a bath, or doing the washing up with some soft, happy music on.

That sounds delicious. I'm going to have that tomorrow, thank you for the inspiration ♥️

We have a few "video game/boardgame cafés" around where I live; are there likely to be any near the two of you and would he be interested in doing that instead? My boyfriend and I went to one for our second date and had a blast. EDIT: re-read and now see that the question is whether he is looking for sex. Honestly I couldn't tell you. I reckon if you offer alternatives and he doesn't go for them, he probably is.

I love Paprika 3 for saving online recipes; it's pretty easy to use (not perfect, not awful) and when you save a recipe it formats it nicely and gets rid of the accompanying blog post. Think I paid a about $7 to upgrade so I could save more than 50 recipes.

I reckon the good ones will care about your genuine personality, polite and kind manner, happy smile etc. I wouldn't chase being a "cool girl"; if he cares more about that than all the interesting stuff about you, he probably isn't worth it.

I reckon cat calling, competitively/aggressively pursuing women or any "rape culture" like behaviour are usually considered to be toxic masculinity. I dont think toxic masculinity refers only, or even primarily, to the ways in which extreme masculinity can harm men.

There might be one already, but a RPW Discord server (or similar alternative) may solve your problems. Discord is set up to suit video game players, but works very well as a moderatable chatroom.

I pay about half the time, but don't keep score or anything. Not because 'muh equality', but because we're both on similar incomes and I don't want him to dread going somewhere a little fancier or somewhere that I picked. It works well for us.

I was so excited to read about how RPGs could open my eyes to the red pill way of life or teach me to be more feminine. I haven't been wasting my time with them- oh. :D lovely post, I'm glad it's going so well for you both.

I'm such a sucker for a comfortable pair of jeans and I'm not one for ever wearing heels. But I have found a love of dresses and skirts in the past six months, and my wardrobe is no longer exclusively black, grey and blue, so I'm getting there slowly. As for inspiration; I love Holly Willhouby's Instagram account. She's a day time television host here in the UK and the clothes she wears always look GORGEOUS. they should be their best selves. Their best true authentic selves. I don't think these are the same thing. I know that my authentic self (if I didn't put in any effort to change) is abrasive, quicker to anger than I'd like, doesn't like meeting new people, has awful self-discipline and cannot commit to finishing simple tasks, is messy, overeats, doesn't exercise, doesn't make the effort to stay in touch with friends and holds unnecessary grudges. Of course, my authentic self has nice qualities …

Cooking, baking, pickling and brewery, gardening, tabletop and video gaming when my friends are free, painting and drawing. If my gym buddy is around we go to the gym or roller blade if the weather is nice. I'd love to learn an instrument but when I've tried before I've never put in the time. I also consume fiction and occasionally browse Instagram because vapid fun is still fun sometimes. EDIT: And CROSSWORDS! So many crosswords.

I treat and am treated differently by my opposite sex friends; with guys there are more boundaries, things we don't discuss, less likely to hang out one on one, less likely to be physically affectionate etc. whereas with girls it's all chill, there's no background stress about one of us potentially making a move or misreading a situation, so boundaries aren't necessary. It may be possible to be friends with either sex in exactly the same way, but I've never managed it. I have lots of them and I …

Uuuugh, the realisation that I'm acting exactly like her part way through an unwarranted rant kills me. I'm so glad I recognise it though, otherwise I think I would carry forward the Cycle of Shit Parenting and gain membership to the Skreeching Wives Society. I'm the same on the studying up for parenthood front; it's both calming and exciting to have the tools to do a better job than my mum. Doing developmental/child psychology sounds like a wonderful idea! I'm so excited for you, whether you de…

I'm still in the process of dealing with mine and my mum's relationship, but it's already miles better now that we don't live in the same house. It's so interesting that you link not being able to be vulnerable infront of others to your relationship with your mother; I'm exactly the same, including struggling to make friends with women, but had linked these issues to other shortcomings/oddities from childhood and young adulthood. I reckoned that my masculine and standoffish tendencies were the r…

Missed the last bit: No, women should be whatever they desire, having weighed up their potential options and understanding the likely outcomes. Being a stay at home mum is one option that I think many on this sub aspire to take, but would definitely advise that it's not for everyone.

I'll be the first to admit, I'm no ethereal, graceful, fairy-goddess (aim high though, right?) but I'm far more feminine than I was even a year ago. It matters to me because I like myself more when I act feminine. I feel that I am being more 'truly me', even though it doesn't come naturally and I have to put effort in. I'm more relaxed and happy, people treat me differently (some good, some bad) and I have more respect for myself. Also, it gets the results people on this sub are looking for. Man…

My mum; I was struggling with stress due to university and other commitments, and when I blew it out of proportion, she was understanding and kind, but also put it back into perspective. I really needed that.

INTP and 5w4. I've never come across the enneagram test. I like the directions of growth and stress concept; some indication of what to aim for and what to avoid is a lovely thing to be able to consider. I don't know enough about enneagram personality types though, could be trollop. Good fun either way, I like your post.

Oh man. Being unreadable is definitely part of why he's so attractive to me. Gotcha. I'll keep in mind that he's unlikely to change; that'll probably save a lot of heartache and worrying.

Thank you for your reply; it made me chill the f*** out about this and remember that people move at different speeds. I was thinking in far too black and white terms. Thinking "if he hasn't made a move by 2 months in, he probably isn't ever going to and we're wasting our time" even though I KNOW him, I know he is reserved, measured and it's exactly like him to take his time. Other than his lack of escalation, I have no reason to think he is uninterested. I'll give him time, he's well worth it.

I think you nailed it. I flirted with him more overtly last night, turns out I avoid flirting because I'm not very good at it and feel silly when I'm being obvious. I know what I need to work on now. Thank you.

I asked him out. We'd been acquaintances for 5 years and friends for 6 months. I'd been interested the first time I interacted with him, but moved away for university and was in no way ready for a relationship. He's got the quiet but confident thing going; he's definitely a man of few words and I found him very hard to read, so I had absolutely no idea if he was interested. At this last NYE party, while very drunk, I thought "screw it, the worst that can happen is he'll say no and our tabletop g…

Before finding RPW I was incredibly ignorant about the differences between men and women's attitudes towards sex and relationships, and anything I did know I was in denial about. There was definitely feelings of resentment and sadness (there still is, occasionally) because knowing the bare truth took a lot of magic out of my idealistic vision of love, sex and relationships. I reckon the way to deal with it is to remember that it's just reality; you were living as if the facts of life were differ…

I like all of these a lot. I'm going to have to look into press on nails; fancy nails always look gorgeous when I see other women who have them, but I've never made the effort because they look so impractical. It'd be fun to try them out. The biggest improvement I've made recently in this area is with my clothing; I've started picking out my outfits the night before rather than relying on the morning version of me to make the effort. Like you I am low maintenance; I don't like investing lots of …

Ancient, overused advice incoming. Just don't buy anything you will regret eating, or that stops you from reaching your goal. I know that if I am tired, hungry, only cooking for me and/or it's getting late, I will demolish any garbage I can get my treacherous lil' hands on: pastries, crisps, chocolate, oven meals, beer, tasty looking chunks of salt, you name it, deep fry it or roll it in sugar and I'll eat it. So it's against the rules to buy them. Any cheating I do is when I'm eating with frien…

Oooo such a fun question! It inspired me to put together a playlist of songs that make me feel feminine, whether it be because they're sung sweetly, because they're about ladies or because they're just happy tunes that make me wanna dance. It's jarringly eclectic and in need of a serious prune, but here: https://open.spotify.com/user/brynhild-battybojangle/playlist/62epfjpnmHHwGZdiX0ivoZ?si=wLPrqL5ZSkWt3PXpEv4RBg

Reprogramming; I was raised a militant liberal feminist and it turns out that's not the only way to behave.

Cooking around Christmas gets a bit bonkers; huge extended family due to parents and grandparents having had children with multiple people, (divorce, separation, remarriage; the circle of life for people who don't bother vetting) and my close family has effectively adopted my best friend. The friend is vegan and gluten free, my step dad has an incredibly limited diet for health reasons, mum doesn't like sweet things, brother doesn't eat carbs, brother in law is paleo and everyone has specific fo…
