Problem with the teacher-student "relationship" is power imbalance. Same as a prison guard and inmate, boss and employee. This is going to sound awful, but 99% of stories coming out of India make it sound like a crap shoot. There is so much extreme behaviour on both sides of the gender divide that I don't feel like they add weight to either side of the debate. Best option is to make sure your son knows that he can always talk to you.
