Congrats on the breakthough man, your story sounds identical to mine. Nerdy guy in high school, tried to get a fresh start in college, discovered manipulative PUA shit and saw some success, but also became a worse person overall, and then about a year ago I had a similar breakthrough and my success with women doubled or tripled in the span of a couple months. Your closing point is spot on- a man that's pursuing his passions, adds value to those around him, and is in touch with his sexuality is e…

You need to talk to people everywhere, all the time, and not just hot girls. This article has recently become one of my favorite posts on getting over this mindset of shyness and fear of approaching women. From the sounds of it you don't need to get better at approaching women, you need to get better at approaching people.

Agreed. You can't read one body language cue in isolation like that, and you really can't make assumptions about a person's personality from a picture over the internet.

A point of discussion: who do you think gets hit on more then, a true 10/10 beauty, or the 8/10 hot but not-too-hot girl? Standard logic would say of course the 10/10 girl gets hit on more, but I think you could make the case that the 8/10 girl is "hot enough" to get a ton of male attention, without being so hot she's too intimidating to approach. Thoughts?

Agree 100%. Ironically, the guys who need this kind of advice the most are the guys who will dismiss it the quickest.

I still say Brazilian Jiujitsu. The founder, Helio Gracie, was much smaller than his brothers so he adapted Japanese Jiujitsu to suit his physique using specific techniques and leverages to dominate bigger, stronger opponents. It does kinda suck in a street fight where they might have buddies, but in a 1 on 1 fight BJJ is domination mode.

x3 on the BJJ bandwagon. I've had decent game for the past 3-4 years, but when I started taking BJJ about a year ago is when things really took off for me. I agree with every point dustoff and baiano made and have 1 more of more own: close personal contact. BJJ gets you up close and personal with strange men and it's totally nonchalant and normal. In my 3rd lesson we practiced "north-south," which is pretty much exactly what it sounds like: man on man 69ing. If that doesn't get you comfortable w…

Amen brotha. The real success isn't whether or not she says yes right now- it's the fact that you had the balls to approach. Even if she rejects you, you'll get better with every approach to the point where eventually the "nos" all turn into "yes."

Probably the best reason in this thread. I hope to one day find myself in the same situation man =)

hahaha it's a blessing and a curse. For instance, I'm really good at telling when somebody when sombody is lying or covering up part of the truth. You'd think this is really useful, but once you can see the signs you'd be surprised at how often friends and coworkers bullshit you, even about little shit that doesn't matter. It's kind of disheartening. On the bright side, it's something you can learn. I used to be oblivious before college, but majoring in social psychology will fix that =) If you'…

The spring break one where George Sr. Runs off with Kitty and she handcuffs him to a motel bed. Great show, or greatest show amirite?

Yeah man, insecurity is kind of at the root of all my turn offs. Validation seeking/jealousy/neediness all scream some kind of insecurity. I want a girl that can match my inner state, not someone I constantly have to coddle to make her feel good.

IMO it's still seduction, just not manipulation. This was also my first thread ever after lurking for a while, I could care less about the karma. I just wanted to share my experience with a community or like-minded guys and see what other similar experiences you guys have had.

That's what I'm sayin, her actions were incredibly disrespectful to both me AND the other dude. Not cool, I don't care how attractive you are.

I dont like negging or anything like that (or like what she was trying to do to me). I believe in being a fun, outgoing guy and adding value to the people around me. Works way better than the typical negging/ push pull stuff I used to do when I first got into gaming. Not to say I don't tease girls or create tension, just that I don't ever try to manipulate or knock anyone down. I'm just unashamedly myself, and that seems to be working.

God forbid one day I should ever have a son, I'll train from a young age to say this: Me- "And what do we always say Junior?" Son- "Never stick your dick in crazy." Me- "Atta boy baby Jesus. Atta boy."

I think you're implying the term "seducer" necessarily involves manipulation. I'm incredibly direct with the girls I hook up with and they know from the get-go that I will not date exclusively until after a few months of getting to know one-another, and open communication is an absolute must. I'm a busy guy working a full time job and starting my own business. I don't have time to play stupid games or try to figure out what a girl is thinking. They either want to be with me or they dont, and mor…

Fun as that may be, the best hookup of my life was a 31 year old cougar-in-training that knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to take the reins. Older women... they simply don't have time to fuck around when fucking around.

Thank you man, this is exactly the point I was trying to make. I've heard a lot of guys say "pussy is pussy," but the more women I've been with the less true that statement seems. If a girl is being an obnoxious bitch then I'm just not attracted. I don't care if she has a killer rack or a great ass, it just isn't worth it.

Depends on context. If I took her to something I wanted to do, I'll pay. If the date was her idea then I expect her to, or at least split it. If we met somewhere and mutually decided to go on a date, then we're splitting it, especially if it's the first date. One thing you could try is to pay for food and have her pay for the activity or vice-versa. If you're doing a daytime coffee shop date then just order separately. I've also paid for the first date and then set the expectation like "okaaaay …

I like it. A lot. I actually read an article about AA that had a similar sentiment- AA isn't something you "break though" but something that should excite you and motivate you to approach. "If it makes you nervous you're doing it right."

Maybe I didn't make it vivid enough, but she was definitely NOT just "hanging with her friend." She was bringing drama and social games into my life, which are not things I value. She was just being insecure that I hadn't spent more time with her after our first hookup and was trying to manipulate me using the guy as a pawn. That reeks of "teh crazy" and is incredibly disrespectful to both me and the guy she brought with her.

I think you're misunderstanding my point... I didn't leave her to go back to that set, I left her because she was being an obnoxious bitch and purposefully trying to make me jealous.

I'm the same way- for the first 1-2 hours of the night. That's when I'm working the room, making friends, and setting the vibe. Once I've found a girl (or two or three) I'm into I'll really start qualifying and escalating. More serious topics of conversation, more focsed 1 on 1 interaction (games like thumb wars/hand slap game/staring contests are perfect here), and then kino escalation. Be funny, get noticed and get some social proof, then simply narrow your focus from working the room to worki…

Hahahaha so any guy who understands social situations and has social proof must be a pickup artist? Ridiculous. Looks like some blogger tried to snare a PUA, failed from her own insecurities, and then projected them onto the whole community with a big warning label attached.

I couldn't agree more. I was discussing game with a girl friend a while back and she kept saying "that's so disingenuous, I can't believe other girls buy into that sort of cheesy stuff." To which I replied: "oh so you'd rather every guy just buy you flowers, take you to a movie, and send you endless flattering text messages to get in your pants? Yeah nothing disingenuous about that..." Shut her right the fuck up. Anyways great job man, glad to hear you're finding what you're looking for.
