Why is that utter bullshit? I mean, I know what sub I'm in, but could you articulate your views as eloquently as you did hers?

Because... because... mens rights! Someone needs to think of the men!

(CW: Gore) Victim here. It all started around June 5th - shortly before noon. The year was 1992. I remember a gas mask being shoved in my face (with out my consent) and I was begging for air as the whitecoats grinned while petting my hair. "There, there," they said to me, condescendingly. I woke up about an hour later. Befuddled, I went to grab my snake - except my snake wasn't "mine" anymore. The docs put bandages all over it - but knew the battle was over. They snipped a quarter inch of tissue…

This is distortion through your framing. A majority of these numbers are not gender privilege related.

I question the underlying motives for why this matters to people on here. You question my underlying motives for having the ire for questioning underlying your motives. No, I'm not mad, you just fail to make any sense.

Who are you to determine what's sufficient purpose? I don't have a dog in this fight, I'm not in the military or a female, but it's inane that this is the shit that matters to MRAs. You want to knock feminism for its hypersensitivity everybody here's gonna need to a little better with not being so butthurt about these small, stupid things.

And that relates to a fight for men's rights, how?

I've never heard a cogent argument for why the fuck it matters.

Then you clearly don't have an understanding of what male privilege is. I take the most issue with: men are privileged and don't face major hardships That's simply not what male privilege is. That is not it's "primary reasoning." It's that males are allowed certain benefits that women are not. Disprove that statement if you disagree, don't assert that male privilege is more radical than what it actually is.

I'm being downvoted because, just like /r/feminism, this place is a circle jerk. Fine, deny the theory, but at least accurately depict what the theory is.

I'm afraid I don't follow, would you mind rephrasing?

men are privileged and don't face major hardships for being men Hmmmm. Right here. That's not what male privilege is. Unless you didn't know any better, this was a blatant misrepresentation. Argue with facts, don't distort the other side's viewpoint.

argue against that, don't blatantly misstate the opposition You must've skimmed over the most important part of my comment. Reread and then discuss.

I wasn't defending the theory of male privilege, did you even read what I said? Again, at least represent the counterargument accurately. argue against that, don't blatantly misstate the opposition

That's a straw man's representation of the theory of male privilege. More accurately, male privilege describes the unearned social, economic, and political advantages or rights that are granted to them solely on the basis of their sex; argue against that, don't blatantly misstate the opposition.. EDIT: Note I'm not defending the theory. Comments speak louder than downvotes, kids.

I'm guessing you're a social scientist seeing as your an expert on the matter, so I'd love for you to talk about the process of "proving" a social trend or norm?

Excuse me? I don't think any single gender should be put "in charge" ...if you want the MRM to be taken seriously then neither should you. "Because that's retarded bullshit."

I mean I hate to break the jerk, but their claim of weakness and vulnerability is part of reforming the theoretical patriarchy. Edit: /u/theromanianhare explains better: "He's saying that by claiming their weakness in a patriarchal society they're calling for change because they're 'strong women who deserve equal treatment' (its just the oppression which prevents them from showing this). I'm all for feminism, but OP's post isn't that - it's just being a cunt."

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
