Spot on. I would also add that it's probably much worse in the US than in Eastern Europe I live in where feminity and beauty is still mostly encouraged.

Lay out a bodyweight routine you can do during times like these. Pushups, situps, mountain climbers, bodyweight squats, etc. are better than nothing and they can be a good change of pace for your body too. I've always hated bodyweight exercises (I'm fine with them in a gym though). But it makes sense to utilize them when I can't get to a gym. Guess I'll need to get out of comfort zone once more. Be patient and keep working at it. You're recovering from a deadbedroom, this will take time. Have yo…

I’ve held the perception that OYS is time consuming and not worth it. Been there, done that. I found it is very easy to start slipping if you're not going back every once in a while and analyze the changes you're making. Have you defined your mission already? BTW, I'm happy to see somebody younger than me in the OYS posts. :)

Situation in the US must be really crazy if men could be #MeeToo'd just because of some friendly touching. I also heard that in the US it has become dangerous to compliment women on their looks. The situation in Slovakia is much more relaxed - if you don't touch stranger's intimate parts or tell really explicit things, you're okay. It IS an addiction. Just like for an alcoholic the only true success strategy is avoiding that first drink, the only way to win this game is not to play at all. God h…

Agreed. It adds water weight so your cut will not be as apparent and you won't look as defined. It's really a matter of personal preference, but most people are more encouraged during a cut when they can see clear progress on the scale. Thank you for clarification. The progress feels truly clearer after cutting creatine. Slow and steady is the way to go here. Sudden drastic changes tend to draw attention to what you're doing, which can make it come off as forced and/or inauthentic. You want it t…

From reading replies on other people’s OYS, I’d say you’re disciplining a lot more than just one dude via email. Spot on. When I think about the people who influenced my life for the better during past year(s), Chuck is easily one of two in the top tier. Consistency with Bible reading, consistency with my midnight prayer walks, hitting the gym more often, starting a cut, intermittent fasting, kino-ing my wife during day - all of these new changed in my wife life have to do something with Chuck's…

Good to hear things are going well in the gym and that you've recovered. And while you can lift heavy, there's only so heavy you can go while you're cutting so it's a balance, but getting to 15% BF or below is the priority right now. Consistency is key here and you're doing that. It's only a matter of time before you get down to your target BF%, great job here! Thank you for an encouragement. :) Kino, when done properly, really can have a great effect on your wife. Your improved physique and conf…

Hello Chuck, thank you for your comment. :) This is why your weight loss progress is stalled Indeed. 2 days per week for “I don't really care what I eat“ is way too much. Even when you're 22. :) I have to adjust this and have a stricter diet. Get back on a Bible reading schedule, it's one of the best ways to be in the Word consistently. Post the reading schedule in the living room where you can't miss it. Yes, I will continue with my reading schedule and make it a part of my morning routine. So …

AMEN BROTHER!! Glad to see you being honest about this, and even happier to see that you've broken free. Do you have things lined up to do instead of gaming? Why do you think even though you ate poorly, you still lost weight? Is it possible that your body responded well to a few cheat meals? Could be, I'm not sure. I know you've been on the twice a week plan for a while now. Is that still the case, or are you being rejected every time now? Or are you trying for more than twice a week and getting rejected on the extra attempts? I'm trying for more and sometimes I get rejected. This is worse than you think. Your wife is testing you to see how you handle temptation, and you're failing the test. So subconsciously she might be thinking "If he can't handle being tempted by some chocolate, what will happen if a hot girl hits on him and wants to sleep with him?" Now maybe she's not thinking this at all, but women often make connections like this. Good insight. Similar though crossed my mind but I was like „I'm thinking too much, whatever.“. My wife is very worried about having to care for my mother long-term. She is pushing me to find a solution and doesn’t seem to understand that the government doesn’t just take care of it. This is likely due to the fact that she comes from a Communist country where the government took care of everything. To be honest I have a lot of empathy for your wife in this. I have prayed and asked God for His will in the situation. If I’m being honest, part of me wants her to not recover so that this part of my life, and this test, will be over. It's understandable when you have a week where everything is off, it happens. But this is two weeks in a row. One more and you've established a new habit of failure. Eh, don't be so hard on yourself. God has given you a wife who has responded positively to your improvements. Be thankful, there's men here who would kill to have that. God blesses those who are grateful for what they've already been given. Thank you for calibrating my view once again. Needed that. When sex is what you're lacking, sex is what you focus on. Happy birthday! And hey, you didn't lose any weight, but you didn't gain any either. So it's not a total loss. Get back to your regular routine this next week. Thank you, and I will. :) Ugh. Awesome! I will tell you this: when doing IF, especially early on, the amount of time spent fasting was more important than your macro split for me. So a 16/8 split is better than a 12/12. When you get some time, take them separately and lay out some goals to accomplish each one. In other words, what markers will you use to determine, for instance, whether you're making progress towards a happy marriage and family specifically? I've been thinking about this. It is especially hard to measure progress towards a happy marriage and family, but I wrote down some markers / goals for that too. Focus on not gaining any weight by eating sensible portions and not overdoing it on sweets and …

Thank you for your words. I really got dread all wrong. Right now I'm focusing on my mission, lifting and reading RPC sidebar and I'm forgetting about trying to make my wife artificially jealous. Thank you for your reply, Chuck. I see you are lifting regularly, and that's good. What about your diet? At 20% BF, you're missing a lot of low-hanging fruit here. (secular link, use Christian discernment) I would recommend you start by figuring out your TDEE and determining the calorie deficit necessary to begin losing weight. Download MyFitnessPal and start putting everything into the app that you put in your mouth. I never realized that I should focus on losing fat. I always thought that focu…

OYS #1 - 12/19/2018 This week I finally said hello to this sub with this post. I didn't get the kind of response I expected, but that's good. I really needed what you all gave me. I'm focusing on improving physically, mentally and spiritually and I'm not thinking about coffees with exes anymore. This is my first OYS ever and I'm kind of excited. Let's get to it: Background / Stats: 21 years old, 5’8”, 165.0 around 20% BF. Married for 2 years, did a lot of stupid things -> dead bedroom @20 years …

Thank you for your comment. I appreciate it. Sidebar - I'm going to read it all, and I'll lift more often. Based on the responses I got I think that's the smartest thing to do right now.

There's also posts on the Sidebar that are not on the PDF, check those out too. Okay, I will read it on the app. :) This is a process - get the fundamentals straight before you go doing things you may regret. I figured that the coffee with an ex might be something foolish, so that's why I decided to post here. :) What are your stats? Do you lift? If so, what program are you following? And yes, building your own life will help a lot. She can't miss you if you're never gone. Yes, I do lift. I did …

Thank you for your replies. I wasn't looking at this from this point of view. You're right. I was truly seeking female attention, we exchanged a few messages with this ex (just chat about how we have been, no invitation for going out or anything) and I've been checking my phone like crazy. It's silly. I read the MRP sidebar, but not the one of this sub, so I downloaded it in pdf format and will read it all. So what should I do, if I want my wife to feel more dread and not be so sure of me? Is “b…
