You could work at a Charity for $10 an hour and he could be working at a construction site welding metals for $50. Do both of them contribute equally to the household income.

Yes it is. That is why parents sacrifice a lot for kids without complaining. Parents typically expect nothing back from kids while they give whatever they have however little it may be. Because its a biological drive. Spouses will separate if you have a fight or go their own way if you dont do the dishes for a month.

Parental relationship is biological and it will natural. Romantic is harder because it is not natural.

If he is happy where he is, why are you trying to push him into something which will affect his happiness?

you can be wanted and loved in many ways. friendships make you wanted and they make you feel wanted without spending money on them. i believe friendships are a lot more selfless relationships which make you feel wanted without spending money and time and entering government contracts.

No, friendships and hobbies take back seat and every decision in you life is a compromise. These are all huge things to lose if you believe in liberty. People give up liberty for relationships, whereas I believe liberty and freedom are ones you need to truly cherish. Whether the loss of freedom is offset by a great relationship is a choice one has to make, but the loss of freedom is true and real.

maybe for you because you believe in acceptance by society. Break that chain and you can be fulfilled by anything,

you can spend your whole life reading comic books an you will feel fulfilled. you dont need to have a grand purpose to life. you can find happiness in multiple ways.

that is the patriarchical culture which is saying men to follow the path written to them. it is oppressing to both men and women. You will find true freedom when you do things you like and live your life as see fit and not follow what the society says.

you lose out on other things like freedom and free time when you enter relationship. people in relationship lose out on things too like time with friends and hobbies, so its not like one path has everything and the other has nothing. You determine what you lose out on.

How about being an adult and give the man space to decide what to do. Constantly nagging him to tell his problem is annoying. Also its ok to not know about his problem. Its not the end of the world. Maybe women are drama minded and knowing a juicy drama might be tempting, but his health and peace of mind is more important.

I dont have to pretend about anything. If I am in a bad mood, give me space instead of constantly nagging what the problem is. Not everything is about you.

Parents do so much for children without expecting anything back is because they love them. They provide for them even after they are adults sometimes as they want them to be happy. In fact, they will love them even if the kids do not love them back or hate them. That is love. The rest of relationships are about your selfish needs, you want somebody to golf with, someone to marry and be in a big house, have a decent standing in the society. A lot of these people are replaceable with another perso…

You don't believe that, but it is subsconscious brain which believes that. That is why you love your kids and not show the same love to your neighbors kids. Do you love your step kids and biological kids the same. There will always be a blocker separating them subconsciously, you might try to override it by not showing it in action, but your mind is hard to trick. Note: Reproductive mechanisms all started with Mitosis which is basically cloning, what we have is just an advanced form of mitosis.

Sharing the bigger cake, you will do with people you love and like. It just means you like the person, ultimately if something happens to that person you will be sad for a while and move on. True love is very rare nowadays with marriage certificates, prenuptial agreements, separate finances and a timeline to have babies. Everyone is rushing in to find someone to run by the society's script. People love only themselves, very rarely they love others and they like people who are useful to their liv…

That is what love is, that you would sacrifice whatever you have including life to protect the person. A man will run into a fully burning building building to save his kid, knowing with certainty he will die, but will not do for his close friend.

Would you cut contact with your daughter if she never initiates a meeting but she is ok with joining a meetup you plan.

I know my roommates and friends more, the likes and difficulties, does not mean I love them. Women always check the relationship with how much they bring in and compare if the equivalent stuff is returned by the other person. And once they feel they bring more in the relationship than other, they check out. There is no love there, its basically measuring utility. If you love someone, you would be ok with doing 100% of things for them with them not returning back anything at all.

The problem is we are confusing love and liking someone. Romance friendships are about liking someone. If a romance breaks, you find someone else. Nowadays people breakup for minor things like shouting once at each other. If your feelings towards a person changes like a flip based on one instance, you like that person but not love them. If you truly love a person you will question reality instead of the person.

It's very hard to break a love of a parent to a child. It needs to be extreme and the parent becomes sad at the loss of love.

The only love that exists is between parent and a child.

I am not the above poster, but I have friends who have been friends with for 20 years and we hang out a lot. I dont have a legal contract to make those relationship work, the relationship is based on mutual trust and brotherly love. What is it with romantic relationships that you need a government contract to make it work?

I believe hobbies can be a good substitute for relationships in certain scenarios. Steve Jobs spent his life thinking about apple and i bet he was satisfied with what he built. Same with a lot of inventors like Tesla who never married and i think they are very satisfied. Jeff Bezos whole life was amazon and i am not sure he was happy in his personal life. Newton spent his life in pursuit of knowledge and never married. A lot of guys tend to involve deeply in their hobbies whatever it may be and …

The narrative is basically tradition, which need not be followed at all. We are at a period where we are breaking all traditions, I don't know why we are still following tradition for romantic relationships. Just be honest at the start at setting boundaries and expectations and if the other person has a problem with it, you find somebody else.

People are overselling the romantic relationship so much. Is it nice and awesome, sure. But does not it justify giving up your freedom for. You give up too much of your free time, you probably are losing a lot of money if your partner earns less than you. A single person can basically choose not to buy houses, has the ability to drop off a job for a certain amount of time without worrying about debt, travel the world whenever he chooses, meet new people around the world, dive deep into their hob…

That is all relationship though, you love your parents, but do you want to live with them? Do you want your friends to be your roommates? I think people should be selfish in life when it comes to their happiness, as long as you dont hurt others you can be as selfish or uncommitted as you want.

I mean their message is to have relationships but don't cohabitate. It is a good message, you maintain a sense of freedom while being in a relationship. All this relationship subs are filled with issues like who pays the bills, cooks or cleans, what show to watch or posters on walls. If you are meeting twice or thrice a week, you can keep that relationship going.

If you are not happy and content being single, a relationship will not make you happy.

There are a lot of young men who get into relationships because that is what society is saying them to do, a lot of them would be a lot more happy just doing their own thing. This is just bringing awareness to them to just follow their dream.

This is lot of men's dream too. No fighting on who pays which bills, who's cooking or cleaning today. Independently generate and maintain wealth. Just have date night 3 days a week till the relationship lasts.

Yes, but nobody is forcing me to adopt a dog. But there is too much societal push to find a relationship and young men think that is the default state and they are a loser if they dont find one. We need to normalize being single so guys can focus their interests on whatever they want.

Relationships are like having a dog. Are dogs awesome? Yes. But would i get one? No. I dont have time to feed and take care of a pet. I cannot travel at my schedule as i have to find a pet sitter. I cannot stay late as he will be alone. I will probably be ok without having a dog throughout my life.

Yeah, keep finance separate and have your own life outside. Relationships are like friendships, just an addon. Reengineering your whole life around always having another person around is exhausting. Also you dont need to fund another adults lifestyle.

Being in a relationship without cohabitation is the best of both worlds.

Make sure you can get a decent income from that before you leave your current job. Men dont need too much money to get by. Houses in school district, insurance for the whole family are the things which put us in debt. Rent a single bedroom in crime free area and you are pretty much set. Any other expense is basically for your hobbies.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/22 03:07 PM

Learn a skill you cannot be easily fired for and get a job where you are not responsible for other people. Dont buy houses which tie you to a location. You can pretty much coast through life no stress and maximize your happiness.

Yeah, romance is nice and all, but tying yourself to another person at the hips will make your resent the person. I love my friends and they can be pretty fun, but I will never be room mates with them. I have maintained my friendship though 20 years because I only see them once a week.

Men give away too much freedom and time for sex. They basically restructure their whole lives and work way more than needed to earn money. The ideal life is being single, work 9 months a year, earn enough to put for retirement, have friends to hang out with and travel the world 3 months a year.
