I appreciate the journey with this over the last week, or honestly much longer. I’m going to take off here a little bit, not because I think you should care, but it might benefit me. There is no "right" answer. But for your sake, make sure you have an answer. I’m recognizing this is often the case, as guys decide where they’re taking their lives. This line here used to scare me - but internalizing the assertive rights grants freedom in the choosing of an answer. I can choose and observe, and if …

What do you fear might happen if you pushed yourself to where you truly want with your woman or (women)? Maybe shaming. I'm still conditioned to think there's something wrong with me. What do you fear might happen if you pushed yourself to where you truly want with your woman or (women)? I know that nothing, or at least nothing that I can't manage would happen. Once that discomfort starts up, I just haven't let myself stay there long enough. I know I can go anywhere I want, I've "taken the plung…

I'll try to keep going off of this. My hamster just keeps spinning. I think this is good to be able to observe real time. I see similarities when I hamstered "this conversation didn't need to happen" once I had noticed my wife's discomfort in a conversation that had gone further than I had anticipated. The problem is that the hamster doesn't accomplish anything. It probably keeps me from observing myself well and choosing how I want to act next. Some of this reminds me of Pook, the piece on Manu…

In fact, when it is, you are untouchable. When it isn't, when you've farmed out the responsibility of making your delusion worthwhile onto others, then you are at their mercy to be happy. This part I think really starts getting to the core of it For me, I can see that I fall into these dichotomies (good/bad, right/wrong, etc) there's a need for permission to proceed with what I want. Or maybe I'm trying to hold onto this this thing (in this example my wife's comfort) while being "free" to expres…

it sounds like a perversion of the idea almost into manipulation As things change it's easy to see what I want to see. Your identification as manipulation makes sense. She's going to seek out what benefits her. I do think there is opportunity for some of what's at play here to benefit myself as well. For example, if I'm happy to make a decision that provides direction, she's plenty willing and able to bring value in knocking out the leg work or communication needed. I'll be mindful here, as I so…

One perspective that has helped me here the most is the idea that each man has the agency to pursue what he wants with his life. The perception of helplessness with anything is what holds guys back. The only way marriage can ever work is you’d have to marry a traditional woman who sees men as fundamentally human beings like herself. I don't agree with this. The only chance you have at finding the life you want while being married, is completely dependent on someone else? I don't think a more per…

You are setting yourself to failure with this shitty metric of success Agreed. I was describing my initial reactions which I was surprised by, clearly just trying to soothe my ego. Any neediness I have as a response to their disinterest doesn't help anyone. Their response isn't about me unless I make it about me, I can let them be insecure teenagers at tkmes. I have had a few times even this week when the oldest is kinda meh, and I just pull her into what we're doing and it's a "oh wow, that was…

You cant be one as long as she is touching your dick? I don't know. But he definitely was if he has insomnia and she's keeping him up dumping her bullshit on him. If I had to define it I do think it's some kind of nice guy behavior where a guy provides an emotional support without getting anything in return (or worse with the covert contract expecting it to result in sex/etc) For example, my wife gets excited and wants to talk through all of her feelings as I'm going to bed pretty regularly. I h…

For him. Not sure why you cut this out of the sentence. you also shouldn't be an emotional tampon for a woman that is fucking you I don't think that's being an emotional tampon. I'm certainly more available to my wife when she's pleasing me. I like to fuck. When we're fucking she's probably getting more of what she likes as well.
/r/MarriedRedPill18/06/26 02:00 PM

Fair. No need for hostility. My wife pulls this on me when I'm getting ready to go to sleep. "I'm going to bed", lights off, broken record. For him, there's no need to be an emotional tampon for a woman who's not fucking me. His MAP is a mile long, if it's not late, them "I'm done here, I've got shit to do" and go work on a red area. I don't see any benefit to staying in a conversation I don't want to be in.

"What's in it for me?" If you don't want to continue the conversation, I think you shut that down and just be done with it. No need to provide a reward or value in exchange for none.

You've been given great advice. It's all covert contracts and seduction tricks, which i think is nice guy manipulative stuff. Slow down, stop thinking about her, and get into NMMNG. All of the ways you're poisoning yourself are in there. Do all of the BFAs. I'd recommend doing them on pen and paper just to slow yourself down even more. Lift, STFU, and this until your brain stops dancing. If there was a trick or a shortcut, you wouldve found it by now, but instead you've lost all attraction in le…

Aha! I see what you're saying and consistent themes in most of the feedback I've received here for over the last month+. In the beginning it's important to religiously STFU. But, later you need to learn to talk like a man. The early script is pretty simple, even if it's difficult when one is a total fuck up. The real work starts with these next steps. Don't be afraid to praise your wife. Youre right to call out the fear. Adjusting and making my own mental models intimidates, but excites me. Trut…

This is good. I might add as someone still figuring thing out, this is why guys are always emphasizing shedding your ego, and having frame. Guys show up here miserable or whatever, asking for someone to tell them what to do. If all you know is finding someone else's frame to operate in, you cannot be yourself. Less that part, and more that I'm a chump or whatever. The work is slow and hard, my ego spun me a web of protection, completely composed of sexual repression. Every fucking time I push forward on something its scary. Maybe I’m scared to admit what I want sexually. I can't think of a SINGLE time my wife has pushed back, she’s intoxicated with enthusiasm each time. Surprises me every time. This is fun, this is what I tell myself I want, yet I struggle to step through. It's not just 💯 my fault bec…

don't expect her to start leading the dance. It sounds a little bit like that's what you're looking for here, I would not have seen it like this. I'd say of course I need to lead. Honestly though, I sense the urge to reward her responding to attraction by returning to the version of myself that didn't give the tingles. Stone talks about this. Or to hope that autopilot will just take over and the good times will roll on. she'll turn into a rabid nympho slut that wants to suck your cock all the ti…

After being shamed by her grandma my wife did tell them we might not have a tidy home if they show up unannounced. They ended up staying the first night at a hotel, but we did not feel guilt. I was at work when they showed up and my wife told me to take my time at the gym after she found out they were waiting at our house. I didn't have as much interaction with them, as I worked again the next day (and was honestly more concerned with managing restoring physical and emotional order in the home).…

Personal Last week I shared a quote from the book Finding Meaning in the Second Half of Life, “The ego wishes comfort, security, satiety; the soul demands meaning, struggle, becoming. “ In lieu of a mission, I’ve continued to set my attention here. I’ve used my ego and thinking mind to be my identity, to my …

any protective, defensive, coping or other layer, prism, or distortion that I’ve adopted in life that stands between me and the truth repeat certain (often self-defeating) patterns I knew I lied to myself. But I had no idea how deep it ran (still don't). This is keeping me from genuine progress as I sprinkle my bullshit on everything I do. It’s not a simple or quick process I've actually had to pause the book after the first couple of chapters to camp out on this line I shared. There's a lot of …

Personal Was given feedback about talking too much last week. It's overthinking more than actual talking, some internal STFU would do me well. This overthinking keeps me too much in the past or too much in the future, and not present. FutileFighter recommended a book, Finding Meaning in the Second Half …

just STFU??? You could have just been outside taking care of your chores in your indecisive whining. Fair enough. Everything here is a product of not taking action. Point taken.

Personal I watched Shrek the other day with my 12 year old daughter and her friend. There’s the line where he says ogres are like onions, they have layers. I feel very similar, I’ll make a little progress then, feel pretty good about it, maybe even celebrate, and just be comfortable. It’s ego, or it’s my lyin…

Have frame/boundaries, or have no frame/weakness. Simply put. I've tangled it all up in my head - this simplicity is easier to work with.

Good shit here. you are living in a prison of your own making (as I did for a long time) because you aren’t fully accepting of who you are. Real friends with genuine connection. Acceptance & embrace of your situation. But it requires a shift in perception. Believing life is a gift instead of something to be endured changes how you come across All of this really pops out. I'm glad you put it out there.

Personal I received some feedback last week that cuts to the core of who I am, what I’m doing. I have coped with discomfort by avoiding it. I’ve learned strategies - to deal with discomfort. Teh1whoSees has pointed a light to a place inside of me I think I’ve known I need to go, but was afraid to - some kind …

This might be too deep for me. But helpful nonetheless, thank you. find that grounding rod to meaning within you, you'll forever be lost to the currents in your life. I've worked to gain the stability that I think you're mentioning here by "unfucking my life". I'll give my nervous system a bit of a break here though for a bit. I do think your question regarding worth is a good place for me to camp out for now. I almost exclusively think of worth as the worth I bring - which is mostly my usefulne…

I can decide that I'm not getting on this ride as soon as the shame cycle starts. you see the world through your eyes This is where I missed. I neglected doing this because I was uncomfortable with her emotions What metrics are you using I honestly do not know. If I'm using any - I'm sure it's inconsistent. But you don't know right now what makes a problem worth reacting to. This is 100 percent correct. It was probably even worse than that. I reacted to the wrong problem. The problem I reacted t…

You've been at this a while. You have the physical. You've read the books, articles and are aware of the mental models and techniques you want to use. The tools YOU use to fix yourself. The tools in WISNIFG work a hell of a lot better when you've internalized assertive right 1. . I don’t think it’s a problem I can solve in a week. This is affecting family, your relationship, your livelihood, and I assume your identity. What do you want to do? What CAN you do in a week? Go do that.

How can you apply the idea of boundaries and value ranking you had success with above to your hamstering here? This was a question that required better reflection than I gave in my rush to respond. I need to chill the fuck out here. I'm not helpless here It is all very irrational, emotional, and uncomfortable What I wrote here shows where I decided to react rather than lead. That is unattractive and not masculine. I'll work to provide strength, discipline, and persistence in my home. I don't nee…

I was nervous about getting injured when I first started lifting like 7 months ago. My core was especially weak when I first started, so I had a couple of tweaks or minor setbacks. Rippetoe shares some stats on injury rate in Starting Strength, and its surprisingly low how many people actually injure themselves weightlifting - like orders of magnitude lower than other sports. Having to bear the weight of the barbell and weight in the way the body is designed helps strengthen the core as well as …

That's a good question. I'm glad you saw this. When I wrote this OYS I had no good plan or solution here, which felt crappy and lazy so I threw this line in. I do know that this might be the area I see my programming as a defective female being the hardest to undo. I'll reflect on this and try some things this week.
