What got in your way? I'm in engineering and have industry connections. Its not going to be hard for me to get a normal job. Which I figure leaves a good chunk of my day to do what I want.

The kid in me wants to be an ambulance driver. I also want to get a degree and a normal job as a fall back in case my business doesn't take off or worse fails. Not finishing school is a gamble I am not going to take as it only saves me 3 years at most. The reason I said what I do now doesn't matter to that goal is that I could work pumping septic systems and still graduate and get a job at a faceless company doing something that I enjoy and work normal hours.

Graduate with a BA, get a low stress 40hr/week job, and start my own business while working there. Then use that money to build a kickass house on my own. Where I work now isn't all that important to that goal IMO.

I want to help people and this would double my income from the low paying mindless jobs I work now. I am typing this at work right now. The thing is I could probably go get a job as a mechanic that would pay almost as well with hours that promote a better social life. Driving an ambulance would be an upgrade in every way except what it will do to my social life.

I would have some weekends off. Different companies do it their own ways but I would get at least every other weekend off. I get what you're saying though as I couldn't go out on Fridays. So you don't think that would be a deal breaker for most women who are looking for something serious?
