Daily Community Chat MegathreadWould you rather marry a nice, drama free girl who makes more money than you but the sexual attraction/chemistry isn’t great or a high maintenance, clingy girl but the attraction/chemistry is 10/10? | /r/PurplePillDebate | 21/11/21 06:08 PM
It is pretty much always wrong to reveal depression or sad thoughts to your wife? It’s a bad idea to just do it out of the blue but if she sees you going through a rough time you can admit it. Then you need to put your head down and fight through it. If you go into a spiral and can’t get out then she will definitely have thoughts of leaving | /r/askMRP | 01/06/21 01:17 PM
What are your experiences with the “Light switch effect”?I was with a great girl for 4 years. Mostly everything great in our relationship and we’re very lovey dovey. It honestly felt like a Disney movie and I of course had extreme oneitis. She needed to get married to get a green card to stay in the country. I kept putting it off and she kept getting more and more homesick and tired of my empty promises. She found someone else to marry her and thought it was the right path/meant to be. She turned so cold I couldn’t believe what I was seeing , I though… | /r/askTRP | 13/05/21 12:45 AM
Did Porn and Social media ruin young men's perspective on life? For me it did, my first girlfriend and I had sex maybe 10 times or less in the last two years of our four year relationship. Obviously there were other factors but I was also watching way too much porn | /r/askTRP | 01/05/21 03:54 PM
Anyone have any heartbreak to success/recovery stories? Need some encouragement rn.Was with my first gf for 4 years. I loved her so much and wanted to marry her one day but was young and hesitant, I kept putting it off even though she needed a green card from me marrying her to stay in the country. Eventually she got sick of the empty promises and she left me and married someone else almost right away. I got so depressed that I lost my job, apartment, a lot of friends and had to move back in with my parents and start over when I thought I had everything figured out. I went cra… | /r/askTRP | 31/03/21 01:27 PM
for those of you in ltrsI was obsessed with my first girlfriend. I used to hide her from other guys and the world because I was so scared to lose her. You won’t be surprised to know that this ended with her running off and marrying someone else which crushed me and still does to this day . This was my fault however and I have learned. I love the girl I am with now and she knows she is free to do what she wants . If my turn ends I will accept it and move on but she is less likely to do this because she knows this is how… | /r/askTRP | 06/02/21 09:04 PM
How to deal with the feeling of emptinessI was feeling this yesterday bro. I have been grinding in my industry for 10 years trying to make it to the top. I have drifted apart from many friendships as a result of the hours I have put in. Yesterday I received a call for an interview for the top position in my industry at the very place where I started. I was happy to have made it so far but I thought back to the summer when I started this journey and realized how much happier I was back then . I don’t have much of an answer to you except… | /r/askTRP | 06/02/21 08:59 PM
What would have happened to me?Na more like traveling to an alternate universe where I was still a huge pussy but had married her, pretty sure I already got my answer though | /r/askMRP | 31/12/20 02:12 PM
What would have happened to me?Agree . At first I thought it was the worst thing that could have happened to me after seeing the stories on this sub I am lucky to have learned this lesson early in my life instead of 35 and married to her | /r/askMRP | 28/12/20 11:33 AM
What would have happened to me?Understand. This was more of a thank you post because quarantine has triggered thoughts of that past relationship and had me regretting things. It wasn’t until I found this sub (have read on the other rp subs for years) until I truly realized how beta I was and that what happened was inevitable. | /r/askMRP | 28/12/20 11:32 AM
What would have happened to me?I know it’s hard to believe based on how much of a pussy I sound like but probably about 8 and I’m in a healthier LTR at the moment. I wasn’t posting this to find ways to get this other girl back it was more of a thank you post. I had never truly come to terms on why this last relationship ended until reading all the victim like here and realized just how big of a beta I was back then | /r/askMRP | 28/12/20 11:30 AM
What would have happened to me?I realize it is slightly pathetic posting this and still wondering but I couldn’t help it after reading this sub. I have moved on and am in a better/healthier relationship now but I could never 100% pinpoint what went wrong with the last one until I found this sub. Went to therapy and everything but still was always thinking if I had just done one or two things differently I’d be in a better spot when in reality I was probably screwed from the beginning due to my foundation | /r/askMRP | 27/12/20 06:37 PM
What would have happened to me?Also didn’t even include that part in my post but you’re right about having her eyes on the door. She almost left me to marry someone at the 2 year mark and this still didn’t wake me up | /r/askMRP | 27/12/20 04:43 PM
What would have happened to me?This is the conclusion I have come to after reading this sub. My fairy tale version of this relationship would have ended badly no matter what because of how beta I was. The ending of that relationship did help me drop all that beta shit and I’m stronger today but wish I had this knowledge back then | /r/askMRP | 27/12/20 04:40 PM
I just don’t careYour last relationship killed all of your blue pill dreams which isn’t a bad thing. Just focus on your career and eventually you’ll find a girl your compatible with besides just sex. It won’t be as passionate as your last relationship but you’ll be wiser | /r/askTRP | 07/12/20 08:34 PM
What do you do when you're feeling down? When I’m feeling down I throw myself completely into my career. I work harder and harder until I start to feel better. You also have to exercise, eat healthy, drink water, get sleep and try to socialize with friends. There is no magic pill that will solve all your problems. Start with these and just take it one day at a time | /r/askTRP | 07/12/20 10:18 AM
| -2 | Not attracted to women who have specific jobs.Sorry but I don’t agree here man. I was with a girl with one of those easy customer service jobs and while I loved her I still wanted more from someone who I’ll potentially spend my life with. | /r/askTRP | 07/12/20 10:15 AM |
First stage of a breakupTrust me just don’t say anything and go on your way. You should know what went wrong and if not you have a lot of learning to do. If you really want to get her back the only chance is no contact | /r/askTRP | 04/12/20 11:52 PM
Girl obsessed with me, suddenly lost interesYou probably became too available and she sensed that and it killed her attraction. The only thing you can do now is pull back and not contact her for a while. You’ll want to text her and probably will but trust me don’t do this. There also may be another dude back in the picture sorry to say but I’ve been there. | /r/askTRP | 01/12/20 11:22 PM
How do you have a successful LTR?She was my first love and I was more emotionally invested. She was also from a different country and didn’t have any family over here so I tried to make up for that. It would be impossible for me to love the current girl more than her. My current girl does not know about any of this, I don’t want to tell her and have her take it the wrong way. I don’t see any benefit of doing that even though my ex is married and does not want anything to do with me. Maybe one day I will but we’ll see | /r/askTRP | 01/12/20 07:32 PM
How do you have a successful LTR?I was extremely dependent on this girl so I hit rock bottom when she left me for someone else. I was so depressed I lost my job/apartment and had to move back home. I ignored all my friends for almost 8 months because I was so depressed and thought I’d kill myself anyways so it didn’t matter. Eventually I got help and luckily I have great friends and family that never stopped trying to get me out. I started going out with friends again and got an entry level job in my industry. After that got an… | /r/askTRP | 01/12/20 06:49 PM
How do you have a successful LTR?Exactly how I feel. If I was the person I am now back then I would have married that first girl and my life would be much different. I regret it all the time but at the end of the day I was just way too big of a bitch and her leaving me was probably inevitable. I’m not happier now but I am smarter and would never let something like that happen again so I guess that’s good? | /r/askTRP | 01/12/20 03:18 PM
How do you have a successful LTR?Well I live with my LTR now so the texting/calling has gone down. She is usually the one that initiates the calling/texting though where as in my previous LTR I was so needy calling and texting all day. | /r/askTRP | 01/12/20 01:56 PM
How do you have a successful LTR?To have a successful LTR you need to care for that person but know that you will be ok without them if something were to happen. My first love/LTR was an amazing girl that to be honest I loved more than the girl I’m with now. However I was way too emotionally dependent on her and thought I could not live without her. I gave her everything and it still ended with her running off with someone else because I was weak. To be honest I don’t even blame her I blame myself and who I was at that time. My… | /r/askTRP | 01/12/20 01:27 PM
How to truly get past a breakup?I know how you feel man, I’m currently in a great relationship with a new girl and still think about a breakup from over 5 years ago. It hurts but you need to accept you can never change the past. Lifting, focusing on your career and seeing friends are the only way you’ll move forward. You’ll still think about it a lot and that’s normal but you will feel better | /r/askTRP | 20/11/20 07:28 PM
Can't maintain relationships with women.Maybe try getting some women who you actually don’t mind having a conversation with and hanging out without having sex once in a while. Obviously the sexual attraction has to be there but you need to go after some girls with personality too | /r/askTRP | 20/11/20 07:25 PM
Am I screwedYou’re not screwed at all but you do sound very desperate. Focus on everything else besides getting laid and then things will fall in place. Lift or do some cardio everyday and focus on your career. Funny enough once you do get laid after all of this you will see it’s not even a big deal and wonder why you were so obsessed over it. | /r/askTRP | 16/10/20 04:50 PM
Should I tell LTR about plan to come off medication?Appreciate it man I’ll definitely look into those | /r/askTRP | 15/10/20 08:44 PM
Should I tell LTR about plan to come off medication? Also yes the insomnia began from a breakup that led me to overthinking everything about what led to it and how I could have prevented it. Was a viscous cycle that I overcame and the thoughts still come once in a while but not nearly as bad as before. I definitely have a problem with ruminating thoughts and obsessing over certain past events/time periods in my life. Will ask the doctor about this as well | /r/askTRP | 15/10/20 06:49 PM
Should I tell LTR about plan to come off medication?I’ve been trying to get into meditation but nothing has stuck, do you recommend any apps ? | /r/askTRP | 15/10/20 06:47 PM
Should I tell LTR about plan to come off medication?Yeah I got a pill cutter and am going to see what the doctor says next week about how to taper off. Thanks man | /r/askTRP | 15/10/20 06:46 PM
Should I tell LTR about plan to come off medication?I work out almost every day , don’t drink coffee usually after 11 am. I don’t have any problems sleeping right now because I’m on the medication. The 6 months of insomnia were so bad and never want to experience that again so that’s why I have not gotten off the medication yet . | /r/askTRP | 15/10/20 02:45 PM
5 years later and still wondering what ifWent for a few years and talked it out until there was basically nothing left. I think it’s one of those things that’s always gonna bother me a little bit no matter what but that I’ll have to live with. Haven’t been in a few years though might consider going back | /r/askTRP | 21/09/20 05:01 PM
5 years later and still wondering what ifShe came on a student visa and then just stayed once it expired. She definitely was mainly motivated by the green card but i also felt like it was real love at least for most of the time. We had a great relationship besides this stress of her needing to get married which is why I can’t convince myself that it wouldn’t have worked out. Obviously either way it doesn’t matter know cause it’s over but still bothers me. Was in therapy for a few years and was fine for a while but I think once quaranti… | /r/askTRP | 21/09/20 04:13 PM
5 years later and still wondering what ifHaha it’s less that I wanted to go meet her parents and more that I knew how much she was struggling being away from her family for 4 years. I was excited for the day for her to be able to see them after so long. I just always thought that I’d eventually marry her and see this out so that’s where the regret comes from. It was a struggle for both of us for her to be here illegally for so long and I never got to feel that relief of us not having to worry about that anymore. This combined with havi… | /r/askTRP | 21/09/20 03:49 PM
5 years later and still wondering what ifAlso in my head I can’t fully convince myself that the marriage wouldn’t have worked out. I know logically it probably would not have but I don’t truly believe that. I really think that if I had just married her it would have actually helped the relationship but I guess we’ll never know | /r/askTRP | 21/09/20 03:13 PM
5 years later and still wondering what ifThe girl that I’m currently with is great and that’s what makes this even more frustrating. On paper I have a better life than before but I just can’t stop wondering what if combined with missing those days in general. I agree with you on the marriage point but the fact that I didn’t do it and never got a chance to go to her country with her to see her family for the first time in 4 years really eats at me. It was such a stress that I always assumed I’d take care of but since I didn’t get to it … | /r/askTRP | 21/09/20 03:03 PM
When do you feel you REALLY became a real man? How did you know?I did the same but I think it’s a lesson we needed to have or would inevitably have had . I’d kill to go back to that point in my life with the knowledge I have now but doesn’t work like that of course. | /r/askTRP | 03/09/20 05:27 PM
When do you feel you REALLY became a real man? How did you know? When I was blue pill and in a 4 year relationship with my oneitis I was definitely happier because I was living in a fantasy world/Disney movie. I regretted every little thing that I did that led to the relationship ending because I thought I blew the chance of having that forever. Looking back at it my whole foundation was wrong and it would have ended one way or another no matter what. Maybe there are guys who live in that world forever but if they’re truly happy I don’t know. | /r/askTRP | 03/09/20 04:34 PM
When do you feel you REALLY became a real man? How did you know? That is also true. It all depends on how you handle those situations and bounce back from it. It can completely ruin someone or can make you stronger. I just believe that you haven’t truly grown up until you’ve had you’re heart absolutely crushed by your first love. Maybe some guys get lucky and never have to go through this though. | /r/askTRP | 03/09/20 02:32 AM
When do you feel you REALLY became a real man? How did you know?Yep I had a great job, loved where I lived and loved the girl I was with more than anything. I was on top of the world and lost it all in one summer. It still eats at me knowing I had all of that lost it. This is over 5 years ago and I have built a new life but damn do I regret now having this knowledge back then. | /r/askTRP | 02/09/20 09:31 PM
When do you feel you REALLY became a real man? How did you know?It sucks but I think you really become a man after your first love or oneitis completely crushes you and breaks your heart. You start to see the world differently and for how it really is. It’s not as fun as it was before and you will want to get those days back but it will make you stronger and be able to handle anything. I thought I was a man when I was in my first relationship which was also my oneitis but looking back I was soft as fuck and so dumb. I was happier back then for sure but it wa… | /r/askTRP | 02/09/20 08:34 PM
What RP lessons has changed your life? like mentality changes?I used to think that if only I had done one thing differently or if one day went different it would have saved my past relationship that I had extreme oneitis in. That would lead me down a rabbit hole of regret and “if only”type thinking (still does on occasion). The red pill helped me understand that it wasn’t one thing that doomed me and that relationship. It was my entire mentality and way of living that was going to send me down this path one way or another. I wish I had this knowledge back … | /r/askTRP | 13/08/20 11:41 PM
Marrying the perfect woman VS. Being a manwhore. There is no perfect woman. There are just people that you are more compatible with. Being a man whore forever might not sound appealing but I think it’s good to get that phase out of your system. If you do end up with the “perfect” woman for you but don’t have the perspective and been on both sides you won’t appreciate what you have and end up resenting/leaving her. | /r/askTRP | 12/08/20 07:15 PM
How did you guys personally handle a breakup? Was with a great girl for almost 4 years. Loved her so much. Only problem was she was from a different country so I had to marry her for her to be able to stay long term. I was young (20-24) when I was with her and kept putting it off until she eventually got sick of the promises and left me for someone else. It devastated me for almost a year to the point where I lost everything (job, money, some friends) because I was too depressed to function. Finally after almost 7 months I started to go to … | /r/askTRP | 12/08/20 05:29 PM
