Soooo you're assuming women are getting jobs because they're riding affirmative action and you're assuming that the men are more qualified, and yet your mystified by why the person in the article thinks people have biases with respect to gender and professors? By the way, men are the overwhelming majority of professors.

There are most definitely still legitimate gripes. Mostly with how socialization of men and women differ. There are tons of studies that show how we raise girls and boys is different, and that those differences ripple through the rest of their lives.

No, don't dismiss it, but don't claim it's a fair characterization of feminism. It's no better than when people point to the most offensive MRA's and claim that they represent the idea of Men's Rights. Both sides have demons, both sides have legitimate gripes, to demonize either side is unhelpful.

But, it is a myth because it isn't true. Women aren't paid less for the same job, period. You didn't say that, you said it's illegal therefore it doesn't happen, which is dumb. Even if the employer hated women they cant hate women enough to lose money. Ya, just like when the Irish were welcomed with open arms because they would all work for cheap. The whole concept of what you're proposing is ludicrous. The concept of people being paid different amounts because of inherent prejudices is ridiculo…

You're claiming that because it's illegal, it's a myth. Murder is illegal. It is most certainly not a myth. Also, since most people don't know exactly what their coworkers are getting paid and employers are not required to disclose that information it would be very hard for an individual to file a claim.
