There's a reason redpill is so appealing to disenfranchised men, it targets people who feel powerless and offers them power. yep, this is the one. it targets guys who are insecure and seeking external validation. the way they decide to seek this is through sex.

Lol yeah, just remembered another one. Anytime I would be seriously upset at something he would call it a "woman moment," he stopped this after a while though but it took at least a few months. I feel like he'd look at this and laugh at me for taking it so seriously, but man when you're upset at something and being invalidated in that way so often, it really breaks you down. I think, even worse, was when he was the one who was upset or overwhelmed with emotion, he would call it a woman moment on…

I'm proud of you, that takes a lot to overcome and it's wonderful to see you're doing better. I really can't imagine that the guys who are taken over by TRP ideology are happy or fulfilled in any way. And yeah, they basically encourage guys to behave like narcissists, and literally map out abusive tactics (ex. for every 3 kind interactions she gives you, only give 2 back to "keep her on her toes")

Yep. My ex would talk about those positive aspects of TRP with exercise, finances, etc. but those other pieces of advice are where the toxicity really comes in. When we would get into arguments, he would say things about how he's "read about this" and that men and women are fundamentally different and will never understand each other. It felt super invalidating to have our arguments minimized to our genders instead of what the actual conflict was. He rarely let his guard down around me because h…

When I read all the stuff about women being minimized to having “levels” and how they are developmentally stunted to the point where they need men for their “social cues” …

Yep, you even start to believe it too. That all guys are like this, you might as well get used to it, etc. Just need to get yourself out of that mindset. It’s difficult though when you’ve been so engulfed in it.

So true. My ex would try to use TRP tactics in our relationship and all it really did was push me away from him

Totally, I agree that TRP attracts men who didn't experience a lot of affection in their upbringings, especially from their mothers. They then grew up having to be "strong" and bottle up their feelings, having no one to talk to about their feelings. Ultimately leading to insecurity with their emotions and confidence because they never learned how to properly deal with things... leading to a whole lot of anger and resonating with ideas from TRP

The issue is this is something that could have potentially revealed itself over time when a strong bond between the two was already made, making it way more difficult to get rid of that attachment

He will not change because he has no reason to. You aren't leaving, so that's sending him the message that this is something you'll tolerate.

Hey, I totally understand how you feel and recently got out of a relationship with a TRP guy. My dms are open if you wanna talk. I know it's hard.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
