Top post. A practical part that spoke to me is just greet people. I find myself avoiding conversation with strangers just because I expect them to be awkward to talk to. But who cares. My first time the problem was that I couldnt come. It's not like when you're jerking off theres less control. Also if you're using a condom you won't feel much anyway. The thing that helped me more than anything was avoiding screens (phone/computer screens in particular) for an hour or two before bed. If you still feel like your mind is racing then read a book. On paper. No kindles. I'd be surprised if you don't notice an improvement. Sleeping to schedule is a difficult thing when you know you have to keep to it which is why you need to be strict with yourself.

As a heavy drinker this really hit me. All the party animals that I used to think were cool as fuck are looking less and less fascinating. The drugs start to show on their faces. London is a great place to spend your weekends. The nightlife is amazing. Great clubs if you like dance music and pretty much every band passes through if you like going to gigs. Then in the day theres all kinds of museums and galleries to check out.

Can't you just join a "non competitive" team? Sports will improve the way you interact with men. That's one of the main reasons I suggest it. I suck at sports. All sports lol. The fresh start gave me an opportunity to sort of reinvent my persona. I know what I liked about myself from high school so I knew how to present myself. Also you'll meet loads of different types of people who are more mature and laid back. Even the nerdy socially awkward types were more embraced. As someone else has said r/stopdrinking is great. A lot of people say that group has helped them more than AA. It's inevitable that you will become addicted if you drink heavily and often, the brain just adjusts to the alcohol until you crave it to feel normal. I think this is true in many cases but being in a successful band is already a high display of SMV.
