People can and often will criticize you for anything. I don't think it's shaming in any way it's just human nature. Well off? You are a snob that inherited way too much money. Save a lot of money? You're a selfish prude that doesn't travel enough or spend enough. Like to travel? You are irresponsible and too free spirited. I think it is hard to put yourself in another person's shoes I catch myself having that difficulty all the time. I asked my friend that won't driving his car in the way he doe…

I think you're talking about your personal perspective on what's of adventurousness, energy, and lust for life. It is less about grouping people as high energy or low energy, and more finding the things that make people excited. Some people really like music and know things on a different level, others are history buffs that seemingly come to life when you take them to a museum. Everybody has something that they enjoy and makes them excited and you can share those activities and energy with them…

Yeah I know, I am not saying it always requires more work. I am using the example why someone might be in a situation where they ended up with someone less attractive.

I went to a salsa club a few weekends ago and before midnight there were a few couples that knew what they were doing - I could just sit and watch them. I did have a friend teach me a bit, and apparently she took classes. Unfortunately we were one of the youngest people there, so it is a little out of my element.

Because men are the sex that has to puts efforts into courting and pursuing relationships with women. For example, it is 7:30 and I do not want to go to the gym at all. I am lying in bed thinking about how I should, but at the same time making excuses for not getting up and going. It takes effort and discipline to overcome that moment. In those situations the reward seems pretty small relative to the amount of effort you feel you have to put in. Imagine the same feeling: it's Friday night you ar…

I think mate-guarding in exists in humans, and can be a healthy behavior so long as it doesn't come from insecurity. Life is about competition and regardless of how well you are doing there is always someone better than you. So it makes sense for someone to protect their mate from potential poaching.

It comes from the idea that women have it a lot easier than guys in the dating/social world. Guys that hate having AA and brood over their squandered opportunities with women most often resonate with that sentiment. They feel that women do not have to go through the hardship of putting themselves out there, mustering up the courage to talk to a person. Therefore, dating is super easy for girls because all you had do is be present, smile, and be pretty - whereas the guy has to have to do all the …

I don't think it's always using. In my case I am genuinely friends with a girl although it is painfully obvious she is attracted to me. I treat her like any other female friend I have, she doesn't really do anything for me so I don't see what there is to use.

I agree, the 1.0 is an over-exaggeration of the traits that are healthy to express. However, contextually I believe it can be good advice. For example, telling a person who is excessively passive to be more aggressive is good advice. When it comes to the article, you are over-estimating the sourcing. Further reading links are not very fruitful (most link to books without any indication what he took from them) and the only link for the 1.0 was to Wikipedia's page on ethology.

I am not sure I am getting what you are saying here so allow me to reiterate. You seem to express some sort of AF/BB dichotomy. What you are saying is that if a woman doesn't find a man attractive than she shouldn't be extracting resources out of him?

In most circumstances people that pair up are approximately of equal value regardless of their time period. A lot of people that talk about the past seem lost in a "when the times were simpler" idea and for some reason idealize a past they don't actually know very well. Men and women that were more desirable always had more options than their less fortunate counterparts. Looks are part of status, but you have to remember that it's only one component. If people took their relative status in moder…

The only correct amount of spreading your beliefs is answering the question: "What do you believe in?". If someone else asks you why, then you can go into it and explain, as this is an indication that the person wants to get to know you on a more personal level. Believe me, if you were seeping success and happiness out of your every pore you wouldn't need to spread your belief system, people would be begging you to teach them to be as happy and as successful as you are.

People sometimes choose a belief system with misguided reasoning. MGTOW get a bad reputation, just as RP or any other system of ideas because people take it a little bit too far. For example, where I live being a feminist and vegan gets a bad reputation. Nothing is inherently wrong with holding either system of beliefs. Where it does begin to rub people the wrong was is when believers will remind you how great and moral their choices are because here are 3 pictures of suffering cattle from a fac…

When I was into PU in college I liked to have my first drink in the shower. I would put some music on and take a drink with me into the shower while people showed up at my place or started pre-gaming downstairs. Other then that I think everything was pretty standard things every man does. Only other silly thing I can think of was that if we ever had to call girls, our rule was to always go in alphabetical order.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/01/17 07:57 PM

Yeah it doesn't seem like such a long-time to me. I was friends with most of the girls I seriously dated. So you can consider it us going on dates, but we were really trying to know each other and spending time together without the intention of it turning into something serious.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/01/17 12:44 AM

Haha, I don't think it makes him clinically insane - just a lot of people see 10 dates as ridiculous today. I think the rules are a little too rigid and you don't really bother going into detail about what you do for your man either, which I am sure you do. These two points is probably why a lot of people are getting really triggered. For me the rules are a little more contextual. I am confident that I would go on 10 dates with Beyonce, would I do the same for an average looking college educated…

You go a little bit too far in almost every point, however the overall message seems somewhat correct. However avoiding pumps and dumps are not easy, you do have to have a good intuitive sense of the situation.

I think it's because TRP tolerates posters that create content that paints other people in a negative light. This allows other people to join in on the circle-jerk and totally escalate "how a woman was an asshole to me" into ridiculousness. People outside the sub that see this and don't really have much tolerance for it get their jimmies rustled and join subs like TBP. I think that overall most people BPers I seen here have, at some point, agreed to the acceptance of a lot of core red pill ideas…

It depends on what you take as RP strategy. If your idea of RP is having solid boundaries, standards, independence, and health. Then RP works not just on women, or a subset of women, it works on men as well. I find people that like to argue against the material present there are usually fixated on some idea they find personally inflammatory.

Yes I agree, I would take it even a step further and say that it's healthy and attractive to have standards. I find it does become a problem when people express their standards in a way that makes it sound demanding and condescending. Telling someone that they are too short, too fat, too skinny to get with you is a little distasteful. On the other hand saying hey you are not my type or I'm just not feeling it is perfectly acceptable.

I don't think that's sexual success in scientific terms. My father having me and giving me many resources to be successful, is reproductive success. This dude may get get laid at some point by some low-value woman, but he will never be sexually successful. The sex-drive exists to produce children not as a brag contest.

It's not hypocritical due to gender differences there are numerous cases where rules apply differently to men and women. Lots of people have made this point. Hypocrisy...is the practice of engaging in the same behavior or activity for which one criticizes another. End of discussion. Yes if you assume all things are equal it would be hypocritical. However, our contexts are different and that means the rules that apply to us are different. Since you don't seem to like the difference in gender cont…

I don't necessarily believe in slut-shaming, it doesn't really do anything for guys except ruin their chances at getting laid if that's their thing. However, if a guy told me that he doesn't want to LTR a girl because she was too slutty I would understand how he feels. Here is my rebuttal to your points: (i) It's completely hypocritical. You can't advocate men sleeping around as much as possible, but then shame women for doing the same. This really is completely obvious. It's not hypocritical du…

I realized that I need someone who is outgoing to match my personality. But that one can be tough, because it feels like a double-edged sword. If it's a 'girl's night' and your chick is going to the club with her besties to skank it up, I don't like that and likely won't tolerate it. On the other hand if she says her friends are taking her to this new restaurant and is very excited to try; that's definitely a positive. I don't get it, you don't disagree with posters that say there is a correlation between certain personality problems and high n-counts. Regulation/deregulation changes the kind of risks people and companies take in the market. It can potentially change where the wealth goes, but another large change is how that wealth is invested/spent. I know that there are two schools of thought on this matter. So on a macro level governments try to find a balance between the two that will benefit its people the most. Excessive regulation can cause people to miss good opportunities, while deregulation can cause people to take on excessive risk…

I am sure you know how hard it is to change habits. There are tons of people that drop weight, for example, only to gain it back later. Similarly, drug addicts have relapse, sometimes after years of sobriety. There are people capable of adjusting their lives and making a conscious change. However, why would you want to take a serious risk on someone who has to put conscious effort into being a certain way to qualify fit for a relationship; especially if you have options. I don't think it's entirely unreasonable to want to gauge a person's past. Character is not a present snapshot of the mindset of a person, it's a habit. If I have a string of failed relationships, there is a habit there. I made a contribution to the failing of each of those relationships and am at least partially to blame for their failure. Everybody has a past, and it is important to protect us from people that could spell trouble for us. If the person is using your past to put you down, I woul…

The same man will fuck the perfect super model girl AND the fat girl. This definitely happens, but I think it is not average behavior. I mean not all men do, but you would be surprised how important sex with an attractive woman is to men. It's not uncommon for my friends to say: "hey if I make this much money I can attract this hot of a woman".
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/16 07:02 PM

I think this is the most important point. People that let themselves go do not respect themselves. If you loved yourself you would do your best to take care of yourself. The other person in the relationship is only secondary to all of that. They shouldn't be the reason for you take care of yourself because it is fickle.

My experience is similar to this, if it wasn't for the incredible patience and understanding my parents have for each other, I wouldn't be here. I do not think most women would be able to handle my dad going to work on Satudays. On the other hand not many men would be able to handle my mom working as much as she did when I was young.

This happens to men that play the game as well: These again are "lessons" which are not necessarily internalized by the CC rider. Maybe she views the potential for sex to be weaponized. Maybe she gains an understanding that she could use sex as a tool for her own ends. Some do, and I definitely urge women to learn how to do that correctly because it can be so damn exciting. However, the other side to this story is that men will weaponize commitment and relationships. There are situations where I…

I agree with BP in the sense that CC does not necessarily destroy a woman and causes irreversible damage. The CC doesn't cause anything it is simply a lifestyle that attracts women that are interested in that type of thing (these women are unhealthy just to be around - you shouldn't be attempting to have sex with them). These women are already in some way damaged or perhaps have a poor mindset when they enter the party scene. It's not simply about the sex or n-count. These women's behavior is im…

Maturity, great dressing style, health & fitness, financial stability, mental and emotional strength. What doesn't the man benefit from? I meant to exactly emphasize this attitude in my post: Who cares what the female benefits from?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/16 04:47 PM

That mindset is too polarized. Qualities women find desirable are not some terrible price you have to pay for sex. They directly benefit the man expressing those qualities.

I don't necessarily agree with "most people should not marry" because I think everybody needs to challenge themselves. However the rest is a very healthy mindset.

How we feel in the present shapes how we think about our past. Sometimes when I read posts on TRP it makes me angry about the deficiencies we had in my last relationship. The mindset some people create with their writing is intoxicating and in my experience can be overwhelmingly aggressive. I do not like feeling needless anger so I try to avoid reading too much of the user content. However, I still find the sidebar material fantastic.

I think being ambitious shrinks the dating pool for both men and women. Not just due to an increase in expectations, but also due to people having less time for relationship building. I have a friend in business and his girlfriend likes to say that "her boyfriend pretty much doesn't exist" because every two weeks he can be in a different country. I know couples who are both very successful, but often times their schedules are so drastically different that they end up going on separate vacations.…

I think it is a misconception people have of college in the West. Being an athlete in college does give you some boost because it gives you an instant social network when you enter a college where it is likely you know no one. I think the same thing can be said for guys. I think my male perspective will help dissolve the severe polarity of AFBB. You are a guy in college who starts out dating a very attractive woman. By far the most attractive in your social circle. You date her for a few months and find out she has a similar major and similar life goals as you do. To your college self it seems like a match made in heaven. Over time you discover she is a little bit insecure, but you can't really gauge it because you la…

In my opinion it comes down to context, I think a gender disparity does not exist. However, nothing beats the worst home cooked meals my ex used to make and I always told her so. I have a discerning taste for wines and spirits. It is good advice contextually. If you are looking to score a lay, pushing a woman's boundaries is very effective. Because Lord knows women have never done anything they regret (sarcasm). I think this type of situation happens to guys that fish for signals because they do not want to take a risk. Their mindset is of one that needs a signal to approach and/or escalate because they fear being rejected and only want sure things (which is a very natural response). That sounds like a pretty good description of how I act. If I go out for a girl's birthday and buy her a flower and take her to dance, the smile it puts on her smile is priceless. The same cannot be really done towards men. Buying a guy some small token of affection won't do anything for him. Volunteer to help clean guy's place before a big party? The controlling thing is definitely what puts people off. To put this in a different context imagine the guy that you were talking to said: "Yeah, but don't wear that wear something a little more revealing". I think a lot of people take this analogy a little too far. Pick up is about pick-up, majority of it is not about sex. Even looking at "The Game", the majority of the book is describing situations, conversations, and theory. Only a small amount of the material focuses on the sex itself. Sex is not the goal, closing is, and there are a number of closes (e.g. kiss close, number close). Sex is simply a way to measure if your pick-up was successful. I think women react adversely to this concept because TRP likes to accuse them of this behaviour when in reality men exhibit such behaviour as well (e.g. starter wife). It is perfectly normal to try and get the best one possibly can out of any and every situation, in fact it is advised. "Do the best you can do in every situation" is a very common quote I see across many self-improvement communities. I do not find anything outright morally wrong with a slutty girl. Outside of the possibility of her giving someone the gift of an STI, which a guy is probably more likely to transmit anyways, she is likely an average woman. I believe the reason slut shaming among females is so powerful is because it hurts a woman's value in the SMP. Thus any competitive edge you can get is desirable, while anything that damages your reputation (e.g. being a slut, drug use, smoking) and decreases your ability to …

Can't really quantify it that way because as a guy you will almost always hit 0 success rate if you aren't the one initiating due to cultural norms and such. Getting fitter will increase your success rate, but not nearly as drastically as talking to more women.

I don't think it is so much as a chemical inability to form the bond so much as it is the ability to understand what happens and to tolerate the breaking of that bond. I think this is a balanced male perspective. Most people have a failed relationship or two, some might have a few one night stands. I think the focus about "creep" needs to be shifted from the man to the woman because it is an emotional reaction a woman has to her context (e.g. the guy she is interacting with). It means the situation and the guy she is interacting with has crossed her boundaries in a way that she doesn't like. It can be contextualized not just by the guy and his attractiveness, but also by her environment. I think it is this woman's response that is creep, not the guy. I will agree that some guys will elicit…

I hope I am not coming off as aggressive because I do not intend to attack anyone's character, I just wish to throw my two cents in. My only row with MGTOW is that they propagate ideas that are not healthy for young men. I still don't understand how MGTOW can be associated with RP because one of the basic ideas of RP is abundance mentality. That concept is reiterated in many posts on TRP time and time again. MGTOW does not reinforce abundance mentality through their ideas. It is not abundant to …

I know exactly what you are talking about, happened to a girl I knew in college. She thought she had an 'in' being invited to all these parties and how people would randomly call her and show up at her place drunk. She got really upset when she realised how few people continued to putting in the effort to see her after she started seeing someone. It was one of those, but "I thought they were my friends, god I really hate men" moments. I don't think it's worse because you are not really participa…

There are guys out there that will be genuinely comfortable with being only friends with you. However, it sounds to me like you are not really reinforcing your boundaries. Think of it this way the only reason this dude is even talking to you is because he is trying to hot dog you. When you realize that it becomes very easy to have boundaries as a woman.

I don't think anyone leads the dating arena, I think the way things are now (with men approaching and women saying yes/no) is the the natural way for it to be. It is exciting for a man to approach. It is stimulating for guy to get rejected. It is even more so exciting for a guy to get a number/date. Mentally healthy men enjoy risk, and enjoy putting themselves out there to find out what they can do. I think there is a lot of mentality/mindset that a man needs to develop before he can start enjoy…

I think it depends on what aspect you emphasise as difficult because women's and men's dating strategies are not directly comparable. I am approaching this from the context of the overall pool you get to interact with. I think the approach is harder for men, however if a man leverages this difficulty his pool of possibilities becomes anyone he's willing to approach - that is a lot of power. Conversely when a girl goes out she is limited, a guy has to be attracted to her and have the balls to app…

I think the context is different and that is why this is more appropriate. Saying something like this to a girl one on one is hot, saying it to her in a group setting definitely crossing over into inappropriate.

I don't think it's so much about plausible deniability as it is subtly communicating to people; particularly in a group setting. Two people playing a game, while building tension in the process, is fun and stimulating. Unfortunately, sometimes, this tension is the reason men and women become frustrated. However, if you really focus on the torrent that is going on inside yourself, rather than the outcome, it is an extremely exciting form of interaction. That being said, if you desire to achieve a…

They then commented that they were shocked that I could have such low standards. The truth is that few people want to be value providers. Their mindset for social interactions is: "Is this fun for me?", instead of: "What can I do to make it more fun for everyone involved?". I think it's a certain mix of the two that is important, and the extra emphasis on submissiveness comes from people's inability to understand how their words and actions reflect on others. For example, the whole meme of college girls being strongly opinionated (feminist, vegan, or just against big government). Not only do they believe they are right, they think you should also believe the same way they do. Dating one of these women is not fun. On the contrary, dating a guy that conducts himself …

I enjoy some elements of just be yourself, as cliche as it sounds. Guys get resentful about being a nice guy because they don't get what they want. They are doing nice things for other people often under the assumption that women will reciprocate in the way they want (sex/intimacy/relationship). But people aren't machines where you put in your nice guy tokens and get something out of it. I know the whole nice guy meme, but girls exhibit this type of behavior as well. It's not so much that the rejection process is emotionally difficult, but the entire interaction is brutal. Some people do not understand that the reason I am not actively engaging you and not looking at your when I speak is because I do not want to talk to you. I meant it to portray that there are various reasons to flirt, some of which can be malicious. If a person is that seriously invested in the opinion of another person they don't know well enough to judge the flirty behaviour correctly it is their problem not the person who is being fun/friendly/flirty.

The advice that women give you has very good aspects every man should incorporate into their game. For me, the starting point has always been general social skills. To be more specific: How do you make people like you? What do you already do that people often respond to positively? What value do you contribute to their life? (applying to both, men and women). These questions are also contextual - what is interesting and entertaining in one social circle may not be elsewhere. When you combine I m…

transactional view of sexual relationships If you take on this view of human relationships it makes life sound like a series of covert contracts. That is a line of thinking TRP quickly teaches to abandon. I think this type of thinking is the main problem with people's arguments in this context: I did this therefore I am entitled to get this in return. However, relationships do not exist for someone else to serve your desires that you 'break your back to earn and pay for'. People live to serve th…

This assumption is unfair in my opinion: But objectively -- the woman who cheats when the marriage is already doomed isn't devastating the marriage more than the man who cheats when he's got a great one. There is no cost to flirting at all other than being possibly disappointed because you won't get with a man or woman you find attractive. In my perspective the 'she gave it up too easily' phenomenon and the shaming that goes with it is a product of your relative SMV rather than your sexual past. One, she is good enough for me to sleep with for a night/week/month(s), but I wouldn't take her too seriously. Two, she is the kind of girl I want to take home to mom and lock her down. The part I like about TRP is that it strongly reinforces an inner locus of control through their various ideas. A lot of material there constantly urges people to take control of their lives.
