2	Making things awkward for other people Two solutions: You could say fuck your friends and ride solo, and do whatever you feel most comfortable with. From experience, friends can hold you back a lot. Don't let that happen to you, if you feel like they are holding you back in any way. Or, you could take their advice to an extent, and just change your approach. Either probably wouldn't be bad, since I personally am not a fan of saying "you're pretty" or anything complimenting looks at the very beginning. 1	What do you have that makes your interesting and gives you value that others don't? It's definitely a combo of a lot of things. Humor (I think of myself as the funniest person I know), I can be assertive when necessary (I don't ask questions if I want something, like "can we go here?" I say what I want to do), I play sports, and I know a lot of people, so if I'm at a friend's house, I can just ask how they know the host, and then go from there, where I feel like I can talk about anything.
