Glad that it worked out and that's nice that the conversation went well. Yay that you're not having trouble preparing meat dishes too. Bacon linguine sounds so good by the way!

A satin pillow case definitely helps combat frizz and dryness, it's also good for retaining moisture in your skin as well.

Oh yes, I don't use it on my face! I use it on my body, hair, and to add into some raw foods. +Thanks for the information, didn't know that it makes eyelashes longer!

It will definitely give you that desired look if you part off your hair in large sections! I have super curly hair too (3c/4a) and usually use that method to elongate overnight after a wash or on 2nd/3rd day hair.

You can create heatless curls by winding your hair around itself and secure it with a bobby pin! There's tons of methods on youtube for an array of hair types and lengths. I usually do this to tame my hair lol. +Seconding coconut oil for everything really! Olive oil is my favourite for skin and hair, a little bit works great as part of a diy deep conditioner mask--you can also add melted organic honey and your regular conditioner to the mix. If your hair gets dry during the winter this is so hea…

Yeah, the ones that do want to get married are marrying later but as a woman it's still a bit smarter to be looking for that right person to marry before you're 30.
/r/RedPillWomen30/01/16 12:46 PM

Thanks! Although I might beg to differ about men not marrying after 26 I think many that are marriage-minded delay marriage until their 30s for numerous reasons like for finances for instance.

Timing is funny like that right? I hope you enjoy your trip and gain insight during your reflection. I hope it will be a positive experience for you with lasting results.I'd definitely like to hear about it after.

Oh I like youtube channels like these! Definitely looking into this. ++2 hours of meditation? That is incredible, not sure I would be able to do that myself!

Great suggestion! Will definitely look into that. I agree, some narration helps a lot with staying concentrated with your breaths and focus.

You're welcome! Sometimes a little reminder about why something benefits us so greatly is what we need to really stay dedicated and focused on a task. I'm sure you'll be able to make meditation a habit soon enough.

Oh good point! Cortisol does increase with chronic stress and does facilitate in weight gain. Meditation is relatively easy to incorporate into your daily routine so it will be relatively easy to make it into a habit!

Agreed, it's so relaxing to just shut down for a bit everyday. I haven't seen the video, but I do know what you're talking about! I've been doing a bit of guided meditation and it focuses on isolating any dominant senses. It does indeed help to pinpoint where the distraction is coming from in order to fully refocus. I'll be sure to check out /r/ZenHabits and /r/Meditation btw thanks for the links!

It's weird to hear when people say that they "deserve" something. It's been used so much in the Bachelor franchise (lol) for instance, they talk about how so and so is a single mom so she deserves love. It fosters a sense of entitlement, and like you mentioned society and the media does give the message that you're deserving something materialistic without much work--this along with other things can affect your relationship harmony. Edit: typo

What we strive for here is cultivating the right mindset. Gratitude, appreciation, and happiness come from you and that is what it will take to have your relationship survive. This is a great takeaway, especially for single women. There's arguably a limit to how far you can improve your SMV physically to attract a good man. But to be able to nurture and sustain your relationship with him, you need to be aware of your mindset and attitude--honestly, it's easier keeping up your appearance than it …

At night I usually cook up some vegetable soup from scratch so that I can just pop it into the microwave in the morning! Also, you can prepare your fruits and veggies (i.e. washing them/cutting them up) so that you can put them into a yogurt muesli or on toast with ricotta cheese or Greek yogurt. I've just started this month, but so far these have done a difference in cutting out mundane tasks if you're in a rush!

If your SO is not a captain, not dominant in general, defectively weird in 100 ways that dont need to be listed, a pretty dress, a BJ and a more yielding state of mind isnt going to fix anything Yes, yes, yes -- never defer to a man that can't be a good captain. Keeping this as concise as possible lol Bad - I need to learn how to really take a compliment. Although I accept them, there's still a little part of me that thinks that people are lying to me. I automatically use my exes as confirmation bias to internally refute any compliment that I get concerning my appearance or personality. This is crazy. And it needs to stop. And obviously these compliments must be true if they're coming from strangers without any other motives lol Good - I've been keeping…

Yes, great point. It certainly isn't for everyone. I've also heard of people's mood being negatively affected by all of the caffeine too sometimes. My friend already liked coffee a ton and she found that it helped her to replace the urge to smoke with that instead but I think it's a matter of finding out what works, but the methods you listed here are definitely good!

This is a really great to for the ladies that are trying to quit. I like what you wrote for step 4. The people/environment that you hang around in definitely has an effect on you. This applies for other habits you want to cut out. Ex: If you find you're always gossiping and you want to stop, you may have to evaluate who you hang out with, same thing for cutting down drinking. One substitute a friend of mine tried was to have coffee instead that may work for some that can handle the caffeine thou…

That's really fascinating. Yes, isn't that interesting how tech and military schools are pretty much still overwhelmingly male in their student ratio? The point about the importance of a father's influence in a boy's development is certainly interesting too to see.

I agree with the big lies that she listed. Although they were written in 1987, they are not outdated at all. In fact, I think that they are more applicable to the women and girls of my generation. Back in the 80's (correct me if I'm wrong) the majority of middle (upper and lower) class were still reasonably focused on settling down in their 20s. Comparing this to today, many women my age think that they'll have a lot of time to look for a quality partner. Some of them either don't seize the oppo…

Everyone's already listed some really great ideas. Waking up before him (as some have mentioned) is a really good way of balancing your mood and getting into a cheerier state to start off both of your mornings right. Set your alarm 15-20 min before and set that time aside to make breakfast for the both of you, get in a bit of 10 min "me" time by doing something you like--yoga, writing, quick warm up, shower, cappuccino--anything that relaxes you. I've been taking it since July. Not too sure if I've been truly shedding less but my hair strands are a bit thicker than the older ends. I use a generic Walmart brand lol it's been working fine for me and has no weird adverse effects on me. I've heard of NOW from youtube reviews and some girls are happy with their results. Has he expressed his interest in marrying in the future? And have you expressed that marriage is important and eventual to you down the road? I am saying this because you noted: Is this wrong thinking? Should I be doing it now? I kind of assign it in the same category I assign housework - if I am over there I will have a tidy and wipe around, but I wouldnt iron a week's worth of work shirts, which I would do if I were his wife. Well for one if you have the mentality of "I suck at first dates," then you will suck at first dates. Date for compatibility and stop cultivating a desperate mindset. I feel you are being overly sensitive by feeling disregarded. If you don't think so, date someone you have more in common with. Your post sounds like cynical satire. I think you may have misunderstood, I didn't advocate against vetting a man or seeking commitment prior to sex. By definition, being a slut is being a woman that engages in a lot of casual sex (relative to her socio/cultural surroundings). Sluttiness is using sex as a tool to secure a relationship, it doesn't mean that a woman craves sex with different men, in my opinion.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post this! It's very informative and I do agree that labelling the relationship dynamic in an advice post this will be helpful for both the commenters and the ladies looking for advice. I also gained some insight on where I would fall on the scale + what I typically am looking for in a relationship with a man. Looking forward to part two! :)

I really liked that you included the last post! It does bring up solid points about sluttiness being the cause of a high partner count rather than the high partner count being the cause of sluttiness as well as preventing your partner count from increasing. ++ OP a way to add value to your SMV would be to show your captain that you are a keeper. Your past cannot be changed but the behaviour that you exhibit presently still counts greatly. But I think you have the right idea.

I want to subjectively rate myself I don't think there's much use in subjectively giving yourself a number rating. You may view yourself as a 6 or 7 but some man might view you as a 5 or another might view you as an 8 because of different tastes and standards (assuming you are in shape to start off with). In terms of improving your smv you can use a "yes/no" approach to your looks. Ex. Answer yes/no for: do I have relatively short hair? Am I overweight or can I tone up? Is my skin generally blem…

Happy new year and have a safe and wonderful trip! :) This year has been one of personal growth. I learned a lot through self-reflection and meditation. Patience is something that I need to work on--especially with self-improvement and attracting the right man. My anxious neurotic behaviour and lack of patience contributed to me being involved with men that did not have a long term relationship in mind when I started dating last year. My constant self-criticism and low self-esteem affected my be…

But why not tone up then? The skinny fat look from calorie restriction and dieting may be okay while a woman is young, but that will not age well as muscle mass is lost, as opposed to a woman that also has a fitness/weight plan in place. In terms of self-improvement and smv, I think it's great for women to add weightlifting to their diet and fitness plan. It's another hobby, you practice self-discipline, and has more health benefits than simply eating less and changing your diet.

Couldn't agree more with this statement. Genetics vary as well as body shape so different levels of physical activity and diet are necessary to achieve desirable results. What works for one person (ex. low carb diet + cardio only) may not yield the greatest results on another (ex. low carb + cardio + weight lifting might work better for others).

I'd take it that he's all right with the frequency then. As others were suggesting, you can initiate when you want to sometimes. I think you may be overthinking things being concerned with how often other couples are intimate with each other.

Really, what were her comments? I bet they weren't even controversial. It's funny how "not being a feminist" is a cause for concern.
/r/RedPillWomen23/12/15 11:13 PM

Have you asked him if he would like to be intimate more often? What can I do? I am okay with once a week in reality but I feel inadequate because other people say that a good frequency is a few times a week. Is that a bench mark I need to be aiming for? You said you're all right with the frequency. After you check with your boyfriend and he's okay with how often you're intimate, don't worry. Don't use other people's sex lives as a benchmark for comparison, as long as you're both happy with once/…

I will definitely add Candace's book to my reading list. Gabrielle Reece has a book too :) Interestingly, people on twitter were giving Ayesha Curry negative feedback for her dressing modestly to "save the goods for her husband." It's hilarious that it had clearly offended some people hahaha

Awesome! I've only minored in English Literature but I found those lit courses to be one of my favourites! I understand what you mean about the professors. My Victorian Literature professor would frequently go off on tangents about working and living conditions during those times. Ah okay, I understand what you mean! I agree with what you're saying. It's easy to get caught in a moral trap with trying to emulate Victorian behaviour and conduct. While some of the advice from the site was good, it is important to take context into note. And I didn't know that about the theatre and acting being scandalous during that era. That's very interesting to hear especially in comparison to how English theatre seems highly regarded these days. Have you studied about the Victorian Era/1…

◾Be not too often seen in public. I'm thinking this could be applied to the nightlife in a modern context (i.e. don't be a bar or nightclub regular). Being regularly seen out in the public during the daytime wouldn't hurt your reputation, dependent on what you're up to of course!

Lol Victorians were really preoccupied with repression. It was also necessary for ladies to only ride horses sidesaddle--not because of their dresses, but for fear of feeling sensations down there
/r/RedPillWomen22/12/15 09:12 PM

That's a good way to put it! Whatever amount spent on the wedding is fine, just as long as you're able to recognize that it won't dictate the type of marriage that you'll work towards having.

I understand how you feel about clubs. It's annoying how some people think they can get away with that behaviour. I also understand where your SO is coming from, he wants to protect you. He needs to be careful dealing with intoxicated people, their behaviour is unpredictable and you don't know if they might have a weapon. /r/RedPillWomen21/12/15 05:04 PM

That's a great idea! Many people don't realize that they can get similar rings made at a much more affordable price. Large retails, especially designer retailers such as Tiffany's have insane retail markups due to brand name alone.
/r/RedPillWomen21/12/15 05:02 PM

Oh that must have been exciting! :) I wouldn't mind purchasing secondhand for the ring or dress, there would be a lot of classic styles to choose from too!
/r/RedPillWomen21/12/15 05:00 PM

Agreed, I would be worried as well with how he is managing his finances depending on his situation. Some weddings are giant jokes nowadays, I've heard that it's normal to make the guests pay now, on top of providing gifts...? It's weird how much other people try to pressure some women in expecting more from their fiancés, like he isn't proposing to them, it shouldn't matter. +That's a very sweet story about your piano student btw :)
/r/RedPillWomen21/12/15 04:55 PM

It's scary how intense some of them can be. A free trip would be nice but at the cost of inviting critical strangers to the wedding and having to "perform" for them, nope no thanks lol
/r/RedPillWomen21/12/15 04:42 PM
3

That is rather unfortunate. That was nice of the mother-in-law to help out though.
/r/RedPillWomen21/12/15 06:18 AM
3

Right? The retail costs for rings is insane and, coupled with the wedding, would set some people into debt. I'm not sure if you've seen Four Weddings on TLC, but they list the cost of the contestants' weddings and I can't believe that people would spend upwards of $40 000 - $100 000. I'm thinking that most can't afford it because they are competing to win a honeymoon trip.
/r/RedPillWomen21/12/15 06:07 AM

Yes, it is certainly a red flag. She's more concerned with showing off what he bought her than in the marriage itself. P.S. matching sets sounds cute by the way :)

I agree it's merely a piece of jewelry symbolizing something that can't have a price placed on it. De Beers mining company was brilliant for marketing "diamonds are forever." If it's advertised right, people will buy anything no matter how much they can't afford it lol Edit: spelling
/r/RedPillWomen21/12/15 05:52 AM

Lol 3-6 months would be better invested in a down payment for a home or to purchase land! I think some other women like to know because they use it as a competing status symbol with each other. They want to know the price, the cut, the carat amount etc. just to compare who's fiancé/husband makes more or how much he is willing to spend to say 'I love you.'

Exactly, this is explained very clearly. Being less logical does not mean that women lack intelligence. But the tone of OP's post makes it seem that being less logical automatically makes women inferior. This isn't the case--men and women have different strengths, OP even noted that men show their emotions differently than women--does that make them lack emotional intelligence and behave like stupid jerks? No. The sexes think and behave differently on an instinctual level and men tend to apply m…

Like /u/scallopkid said, ask him outright if he would like for you to grow your hair out, he may not be dropping hints! If you do grow your hair out longer try paying more attention to your diet. Consume more protein, take biotin supplements (and drink lots of water with them), and also take MSM pills--they lengthen your hair growth phase and reduce shedding. I have always had thin, fine hair and after using MSM for a few months, I notice that my roots are thicker than the rest of the hair shaft…

Feminity also involves emotional vulnerability. You mentioned you are awkward around guys you like. I understand you, and I've felt that way too. Sometimes the awkwardness can really get in the way of letting you act natural around a man, try to focus less on how you come across/what you should say. It's okay to be nervous, try smiling through the conversation. I am not saying you should be an outgoing extrovert since you seem introverted, but you can play up on your introversion by being more r…

Confidence, improve your self-confidence. Stop comparing yourself to those "Abercrombie" models. Being insecure is a larger barrier than being a 6.5-7. Yes, there will always be prettier girls but never feel inferior about it. Sure they can attract a man, but can they keep him? Sure they are attracting more men than you, but are they of quality? It's going to take a lot of effort and time to find a quality man but it will be much more worth it than having a string of boyfriends like some of thos…

Great! I'll be sure to check out Paula Begoun. Lol as long as it doesn't hurt more than epilation then I think I can handle it. I'll definitely do more research on it!

Yay! I like this, we really lose sight of the things that are going really well in our lives and we often forget about how many great people are in it. Developing an attitude for gratitude has certainly been the single largest influence in helping to have a more positive mindset over the years. I'm really greatful for my family and friends as well as the challenges I've been facing lately as it's really help me grow into a much more gracious and grounded person. Thanks for this post! It was a go…

What is micro-needling/what does it do? Sounds interesting, it's not painful is it? I love at home peels! I only use mine once/bi-monthly so not to degrade the thickness of my epidermis or irritate it, lol I'm afraid of the horror stories so I don't use it too often. I heard lactic acid is good for discoloration, what do you specifically use it for? I'm trying to get rid of hyperpigmentation in one area of my face and have been using this and so far so good! Things aren't the same because he doesn't trust you, as you wrote. Even though you've improved the way you interact with him now, all he will remember from the first time you were together is the way that you treated him poorly before. I also believe he only half-heartedly got back with you since you initiated contact with him, and it seemed like he was going to be moving on (talking to another girl etc.). Honestly, I don't think it would be good for either of you to try being together again. Yo…

Yes! It also took more time to wait for a letter to be sent/received so women just kept living instead of waiting by the mailbox for the next letter to arrive. Text really has cultivated a culture of instant gratification for little effort.

I used to use sarcasm a lot back in high school too as a defense mechanism. I found what really helped to fill gaps in conversation would be to give a genuine compliment to the person you were interacting with. It's nice to make people feel great by saying something positive! Also, if you still find the need to be funny in social situations try to be more observational of your surroundings and find the fun and irony in that. Avoid being observational about people, you might offend someone that w…

Thanks for posting this! As mentioned in the article, some women place unfair expectations on men when they expect them to communicate the same way as women. The reader talks about wanting to reach out to him in a small way since they live separately, but to me this just seems like she needs validation/attention when she gets bored. Why not surprise him with dinner and a movie at his place instead of texting him some cat meme or whatever? Why not develop a hobby to keep busy and be interesting? …

Immerse yourself and enjoy the moment! I assume that you're a lot better now and you can put 100% of your attention on the weekend with your SO, so just enjoy it and don't worry about a little cough. Unless it's a really bad cough he will barely notice. Your mood will be a big influencer in keeping things light and fun. Also, you can drink a lot of tea/water--keeping the throat hydrated really works! Have a great weekend, I'm sure it'll be good! :)

Thanks for asking actually! There's nothing wrong with contouring at all. It's an essential technique to learn to enhance attractiveness when wearing makeup. I meant the application technique. Slimming your nose + face or adding the look of high/hollow cheekbones when you don't have those is what I would avoid. Paired with a dark contouring shade (4-5 versus 2-3 shades darker) and highlighting; someone can look very different without makeup. This before/after--the result is beautiful though--sho…

I second this! Can't go wrong with soup! A care package, esp. with herbal tea, handsanitizer, vitamins /minerals like /u/TempestTcup mentioned too) would be great and practical to send to him. Don't use makeup to change the look of your natural bone structure or skin tone. Avoid heavy contouring, highlighting, or painting yourself another shade. These are the techniques that make a big difference. Trickery really comes down to heavy countouring and shading/highlighting. I'm not sure if you've checked out some youtube videos, but it's usually heavy contouring around the nose, cheekbones, and around the jawline. You can add bone structure that isn't there to a face with contouring. And …

I'm around the same age as you and I know it can feel discouraging when it seems like all everyone does on campus is drink/party to socialize and meet people. Yeah I do agree with your points. I guess where I was coming from with my post was that I want to spot anything that I did wrong or that was wrong with me that I couldn't notice myself. I wanted to make sure I would never be whatever he saw as wrong in the next relationship. But you are right, lol why would I want to contact him? It would only be his opinion. Maybe what's not real--your self-hate? Do you often tell him that you don't like yourself? And do you deflect any suggestions that he's made to you to help you change? When you wrote down "I'm psycho," that's just another instance of you beating yourself up. Everyone has times when they lose control of their emotions. If you really want to change your temper/have control over your emotions try to get help from a professional. They do offer workshops on learning strategies to cope.

Learn to love yourself. I think you already know this but having hatred towards yourself will end up taking a toll on you and the people around you. Self-love is like a muscle and you have to work it out each day. Forgiving yourself is difficult to do initially, but you will get used to it. The same goes for thinking positive things about yourself. Try journaling. Write down things that are going right and that you are thankful for in your life. You don't have to journal everyday, just when you …

Hey! I can't remember when I found this place, but I have been a lurker for two years (I was 20). I have been reading ever since and have definitely seen an improvement in being able to attract men. Nope, he's 27. I'm more likely to date men around 4-8 years older because they would typically be in a more static and established place in their lives (I guess? I'm definitely making a huge generalization lol). But like you mentioned, younger men my age just aren't, generally speaking, focusing on fitting in a serious girlfriend while they're trying to establish themselves. I think they are the same personality traits that would repel men really--if you're arrogant, you never listen, and you're self-centred you're probably going to attract other women that are like that too. Like attracts like sometimes, especially when making friends.
