My sister gave me one of those masks a few months ago and I forgot about it, thank you!

Oooh like the how do you feel about the Beta/Alpha guys from earlier? I saw that and I thought that it looked like someone was doing research on the subject. Thanks for the heads up.

Yea, it made me think of my mom. She is also in her 50s and single. When my parents divorced I believed her that my dad was an awful husband but now that I'm grown I think about how their relationship must have been and if I were a guy, I wouldn't want to be stuck with a woman that bitches about everything I do and keeps blaming me for everything. It must be an awful feeling being old and realize that you ruined the relationship you had just because you needed to validate yourself.

I'm in no way an expert (I've been subbed to TRP and RPW for a few months) but this is how I understand it: Being RP means being alpha. Being confident. Being a leader. Most women are attracted to this type of guys. The posts you see about hating women are usually made by guys who are still in the "angry phase", they recently discovered TRP and now want to take it back on women. If you read the top comments of most of those posts, you will see that usually the older guys (and true alphas IMO) te…

...she was married to Brad Pitt when he was at his peak. Tabloids are always making up stories about her being pregnant and still in love with Brad...and btw there is nothing more unattractive than a guy who follows celebrity gossip, you might want to stop that if you are RP.

Thanks, this is what I've been doing. I dont want to solve his problem, I just want to be supportive.

Thank you for the suggestion on going to the university's job center, we went to the same school and he has to go this week to do pending paperwork he has there, I'll let him know about that. He is also meeting with the migration lawyer to start the process this week.

He is actively looking for a job on his field but still has the one he doesnt like and does not plan to quit until he has something else. If anything, I am the one who feels like a freeloader since he pays for all of our expenses (I'm only paying half the rent and my phone bill, he pays for everything else, he even asks me frequently if I need new clothes or anything).

often done for a bunch of ingrates who would rather just be eating fast food anyway It may sound ridiculous, but I believe that you transmit your emotions through the food you cook. To me, cooking is an act of love for my family and every time I'm in the kitchen I'm singing and dancing while I cook, it makes me really happy to make a meal for them. Today we are going out for dinner because one of my bf's relatives is visiting and he couldn't decide where to take her because since I started cooki…

Like I said before, this is just context on the issue, Im asking for advice on how to be supportive - not to fix his issue.

For what I have perceived and some things he has mentioned, he feels insecure about his knowledge on his field so that is why he chose to have a part time job on an unrelated field instead of starting his career. Now he says he wants to look for something on the field but he is not getting interviews and he can't take a starting position because of money issues and he is upset about himself because of his previous decisions.

Title of the post: Bf is facing the consequences of the career decisions he took a few years ago - How to be supportive? I'm asking how to be supportive and I'm giving context.

Have you ever done something that has convince him no to do that stuff with you? How have you let him know that you would like to so far?

I would like to have that commitment with him. Even if right now we are both committed to each other, I think it is different when you sign the paper, maybe for the symbolism of it idk. I have asked him why he doesnt want to get married (in a very casual way, not nagging him or anything) and he just says that he doesnt want to and thats the end of the conversation.

I wasn't depressed for 8 years, we were fine for 4-5 years, then we had issues for a while, then I got depressed. We've been doing great for the last year. Like I said, I don't want to get married right now, but I would like to know if it is something to look for.

My parents divorced 20 years ago after my dad cheated on her and she just broke it off, never tried to fix their marriage. She has a very overbearing personality and no amount of love is enough for her (If she suffocates me I cant imagine how she was with my dad), she still blames my dad on everything and has never acknowledge her fault on the divorce so for her all men are cheaters and since she doesn't want us to get hurt she doesn't want us to get really close to any men, she wants us to find…

A year ago we went to the mountains with another couple and I mentioned during breakfast how attractive I found a man who ate a lot. From then on, the other guy (who is way smaller than my bf) tried to eat as much as him, we could see him struggling to finish his plate. My bf felt like a stud after every meal lol

That makes a lot of sense. He plays Dayz and I was horrified when he told me the stuff he and his friends did to other players. He has never been aggressive in real life but in that game he is completely someone else. I appreciate your suggestion, that is exactly what I plan to do. I don't want him to stop playing completely but I want him to want to spend time having new adventures with me. Thanks!

I totally understand what you are going through. My bf was so fed up of me being depressed that I have no idea why he didnt broke up with me. Since I started making changes on myself my relationship has improved greatly and i dont feel depressed anymore. This is what I did: I divided a blank page into two columns. On one side, I would write the qualities I would like to have or that I needed to be the type of woman I would like to be. On the other, I would write the steps I needed to achieve eac…

Exactly! I always thought that men and women had roles in relationships but had the idea of men and women being equal (or even that women were entitled to everything and men were the enemy!) so ingrained that I refused to behave this way. I still have a lot of work to do on myself but so far this has been working way better than what I expected.

If I ask him to go out on his day off he always says yes but I would like him to bring up the idea. This sunday was the first time he did it, I hope it becomes more frequent.

That is one of the reasons why we do it! It is a 36cm difference for us, he usually wants a huge dinner while I just have a bite of something and a glass of almond milk. Don't you love how men eat? I love seeing him eat those huge portions.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
