Well I am getting therapy for the first time in the next two weeks...so currently that's how I'm defining "living life" lol!

That's something I find reasonable :)

I'm sorry to hear about that. Yes, that's how TRP made me feel- just empty inside. To the point where I pretty much did not want to be in a relationship anymore, and could hardly look at the men in my family in the face for a while. So far, what I'm reading on here and also talking to a young man going through the ex-TRP stage is making me reconsider. I am slowly starting to think that, because dating just sucks in general for both genders and that men have pretty much dominated the internet, th…

Well there were studies that came out saying there are women who feel often depressed/worthless after casual sex, while men usually felt really good (even if it wasn't the best sex they've ever had lol). Granted I'm not saying every single woman is like this, which is why I'm trying to figure out the percentage. I don't know whether the "hook-up" culture was perpetuated by society's sexual revolution or because women frankly just want casual sex in general.

Definitely good point. TRP rebuttal is that it was due to technology. Washing machines and vacuums replaced women to the point where they had "more time to think" and began feeling bored and disgruntled about life.

Is that completely true though? Or are women having one-night stands due to the self-empowering "if he can do it, YOU can!". Obviously men prefer casual sex way more than women do on average, but I wonder what percentage of women actually enjoyed it with no strings attached

I read they claim that the end goal is merely that women stop lying about their partner count, and understand the consequences of having a high number. Which confuses me...because then we'd be putting women back into the position of the 50's- to get married young ASAP to attract a man, and forget about exploring your sexuality. Which would severely limit a woman's career options in the end... Edit- And while I do want to believe that first part, it's tough. I wish there was a study proving that …

I guess I really cannot say. The idea doesn't seem too pleasing at all at this very moment (in a "I'd rather be Jabba the Hutt's tail than have this sort of life"). But then there are studies of women being less happy now than in the 1950's, anecdotes from 50's housewives that they were actually happy, etc. Plus, there's the fact that I think way more about romance and my lack of love life on a daily basis and obsess over it than I do reading up scientific papers out of interest. Edit- wanted to…

Yeah my ideal type of guy would probably get the "mangina" label from TRP...lol. But even then, RPW actually (usually) do not want a TRP guy. They are both about male and female sexual strategy individually, but they are actually at odds end with each other. RPW's idea is to get a "good" man or make your current guy into a great leader. And this is done by becoming the submissive/doormat type. They're saying that without the distinct, suffocating gender roles, you're asking for unhappiness, a di…

I guess my issue is what is defined as femininity according to RPW. They're saying I must be the ultimate extreme version of feminine- saying "teehee" and giggling and blushing, looking doe-eyed at any man and pretend not to know anything so that he can "teach me", always needing help when I really don't (alright, there are times I need help...but other times I don't); only wearing frilly dresses and being obsessed with looks and makeup. Like I can't dye my hair blue or something cool because it…

Lol nah I don't really care. It's more about attitude than anything else. Although, tbh, I'm not 100% sure what I truly want in my alpha-type men yet since I've never been in a relationship before...so that's something I've been trying to figure out haha But yeah looks certainly fade (especially for women, since our worth is almost completely dependent on this), so I can just accept those things

Maybe. I don't think they will. And thanks for the help. I will definitely keep all of this in mind :)

What would you consider a "lame" reason? I generally don't care much for appearance, but things like hygiene is definitely a deal breaker for me.

Oh we talk about it all the time. Unfortunately, they're more "dominant" and generally date more so submissive men, so they never understood why I like more alpha types. Is drinking that much of a turn off for the alpha types? While I don't get "shit-faced" and get sloppy and slutty, I do occasionally go and get martinis with my friends while out for dinner. And yes definitely figured that. The guys around me certainly want something completely different ;)

I'm glad to hear that. I was getting worried that, since I'm about to be 22, I'm starting to lose my value as a potential mate. Glad you found someone at 27. Gives me great hope! :)

Haha, well yes I'm actually taking an Intro to Evolutions class right now, and I just had an exam on Darwin's Sexual Selection theory. Very interesting stuff :) It was actually the reason I started looking into TRP in the first place and away from feminism. Never heard much of the neoteny ideas before, though. I will certainly look into it! I guess I'm not really sure how to be "coy" or "softer" - I mostly just try to be as friendly as possible and try to have more so intellectual but polite dis…

I definitely agree with that. I don't think college is the place for dating, given my circumstances. How did you manage find someone older? I've tried online dating before, but it was filled with weirdos obviously just looking for sex.

I think I am generally feminine since my family is rather conservative, so I naturally can be shy and act girlish. But what do you specifically mean by this?

I've also done things in the past that I regret. I'd say you forgive yourself for what you did in the past (I mean you were 19...I'm your age, and I can tell you that 19 year olds know very little about the world. We often think with our hearts more than our heads). I'm glad you managed to get out of that type of toxic relationship. Definitely focusing on yourself and building your self confidence is the best you can do. As others have said, this means getting back on your feet and maybe worryin…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
