I think you're right. I also think that in the past, feminism was downright excellent. It's made great strides for women, but at this point, the sexes aren't equal, but they've both got a leg up. We have two legs, though, and now the sexes are pretty much scissoring. That got weird fast.

But the Patriarchy makes me feel unsafe around strangers if they're men! I tried to bring up the fact that men are raped just as often as women, but they're less likely to report it, and their response was that feminism would make men less inclined to feel that their masculinity was at stake by reporting something like that. I've heard the argument that egalitarianism encompasses so much that it's basically meaningless, but it does definitely have a specific definition. When people say that egalitarians cherrypick the tenets of their own version of egalitarianism, it's usually the same person who uses the No True Scotsman defense with regards to feminism.

I wasn't joking, but I haven't personally heard of anything but snipping the clit right the fuck off. I hate to say it, because they're both horrible, but I think FGM is usually worse, partially because the countries that still do it don't exactly use proper medical equipment when they do it, and because it's done primarily to keep women in check, without a dumb excuse like that it "prevents infection". You forget that insurance companies exist solely to make money. It's not a rights issue. It's an investment issue. I didn't get my first car until I was 24 (last March) so I avoided the horrible expensive insurance bracket, (I'm also male) with a starting rate of $425 for six months, but insurance companies make most of their money off of people just under our age, so unless you live in a state that doesn't force you to have car insurance, we're fucked.
