My former next door neighbor experienced this. I don't recall his ex taking the child away, but I know after a long divorce and custody process, he actually ended up with custody of his daughter (this is in TX). So, it's possible. I will ping him on Facebook and see if he's willing to chat about it. Also, yes to the lawyer, with an immediate request to the courts for visitation agreement during separation. and keep any messages / txts where she refuses until lawyer tells you not to.

I agree. Get into counseling if you can. Over the course of your marriage, you will develop crushes and feelings for others along the way. While they can be fun at first, they can also be dangerous. Squash them before they turn into something more. Frankly, while you view this other woman as your mate, the same thing will likely happen in that relationship too. You don't want to jump every time this happens. She is an X for a reason.

I cannot answer the question. Timing clearly sucks, sorry that this is happening. If I had to guess, if you have not divided the assets, this would just get lumped into it.

Therapy can work for just you though (not to save the marriage, which sounds beyond saving). I'm seeing a counselor every other week just to have an unbiased venting session. She's been a great help frankly. I'm sleeping and coping better. I recommend it if you can afford it.

You need to call the police the next time she hits you. 1. It's assault and she needs to stop. 2 in some states, that assault charge will guarantee custody. It happened that way for my son in Texas. She was barely able to get supervised visitation. I'm divorcing my wife after 19 married & 23 together. They also were not all bad, but I see her as no different than a friend that I get mad at for not pulling her weight around the house, not as a wife. My son is the hardest part. She wants to stay t…

FYI: my week, while out of town for business. Monday: I'm an asshole for abandoning her. Later in the day she's polite and asks if I can help her. When I don't I'm cold and mean. Tuesday: nice again. she aks me not to be cold and mean, then proceeds to call me names and accuse me of things for no reason. Wednesday: no contact (thank god) Thursday: how is your trip. Send me pictures. Hope you're having fun....

I'm in the process of this. It's very difficult. She over reacts to everything and is constantly on the attack. I agree that I've I'd got nerds to find a new place to live. Get yourself into counseling so you have a place to talk about her to someone who will understand and not judge. If kids are involved, make sure they do not become her target for emotional support since that has probably been you.

Damn, sorry that you are going through that. Glad to hear the initial went well for you though. Good luck with the next one in two weeks.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
