This - most of my girlfriends who are in relationships with a guy who they were “friends with first” is something similar to this. Friends in high school or college and nothing happened romantically then years later they reconnected. Myself included. Though many didn’t keep contact in the years apart so i dont really know if it qualifies.

This. It depends on the relationship. Women do tend to mature faster so a few years isnt a big deal - but it is a bigger deal what has happened in those years. Men do typically prefer younger, more beautiful, more fertile women - but that method being successful is historically reserved for men in powe. When women say “he cant get a woman his own age” we typically mean an immature man with little to offer that goes after younger women who are more on his “level” - meaning shes 18 and still lives…

I could agree with this. To add to what u/spiritualgirl01112 is saying and to what you’re saying - i was probably considered one of the “hot girls” in high school (was at least friends with them) and i agree that it is 1000% that they don’t have the self esteem but have the confidence so when a guy they’re into feels the same way the girl feels a sense of imposter syndrome. The guy thinks “she’s super hot and confident” and while it might be technically true, she knows she’s hot (hence the confi…

This. On paper it probably looks like I’m “settling” for my boyfriend because i am taller, make more money, have more degrees, am more “traditionally attractive” but i think he’s absolutely perfect. Could i be with someone more conventionally attractive? Maybe. Do i care? No. I find him incredibly attractive. He’s also constantly making me laugh, complimenting me, telling me how lucky he is, and we’re the best of friends. He makes jokes all the time that i settled as a way to jokingly compliment…

I agree. I was sexually repressed growing up from religion but having these fantasies is way more about feeling so desirable the man can’t help himself. I think a lot of it comes from media; slave Leia, jasmine being “brainwashed” for the sultan, etc.

I mean its gotta be pretty obvious from these comments why. Because women get shit on constantly for the number of partners they’ve had - so of course theyre going to be in the “past doesn’t matter” camp because if they say 2 men, theyre lying, and if they say 15+ theyre sluts. Most guys ive been with have slept with far more women than ive slept with men but i can still sense the uncomfortableness when i say it. Doesn’t matter if its 2 or 200, guys dont like hearing that the person they are hav…

Totally fair. For a lot of women a dude being bi is a deal breaker, theres definitely a double standard there. But yeah, too many guys ive dated hear “I’m bi” and think “down for threesome,” which is not usually the case. In my experience, guys aren’t into “bi girls” they’re into the idea of a threesome without making an ass of themselves.

Bi woman here (lol) but i think its just more acceptable for a woman to be bi than it is for men. And also if youre a straight man, can you blame us?

It’s definitely a thing, and its not always with girls that are less attractive than the men. I’m part of a woman’s group on FB and recently a woman posted that she dumped her bf who was staying with her rent free, eating all her food, and she paid for everything when they went out. LOTS of women, including me, have had similar relationships. Usually not sugar mama level but, in my case at least, he didn’t like where he was living so he just lived at my place instead. After about 2 weeks we neve…

Security has some to do with it yes - most of us (women) want someone who isn’t a deadbeat. Not because were gold diggers or plan on not working or whatever but because we want an equal in life, when talking about marriage. If were just hooking up that doesn’t matter too much to me. My current boyfriend and I dated right after high school, I had been in college for a year and was home for the summer. He had just dropped out of college and was doing work for his contractor dad. We both knew it wa…
