I agree with everything you mentioned except for that men are the majority of victims of rape. In most recent studies, 38% of rape victims are male. Other studies say that 1/10 rape victims are male. Whether it’s 1/10 or 38%, it’s still too many, but women are statistically raped more often.

Absolutely not. What attracted me to feminism was the idea that maybe someday, women would have equal rights in other parts of the world. Men as well. I’m not trying to forget about how women were systematically oppressed for 1000s of years, either. In Ancient Rome, women didn’t have rights. A few hundred years ago, women didn’t have rights. A hundred years ago, women couldn’t vote. I don’t want to forget our history.

Maybe we should just drop the label feminist. It’s a loose term. I, and many others, believe it’s for equality, but evidently some people believe otherwise. “Men’s rights advocate” doesn’t particularly sound very accepting of women either, but if you say the definition is equal rights, I believe you. I’m still here to listen. I’m genuinely curious.

I’m against rape, pedophilia, and abuse in ANY circumstance, definitely not just when women are the victims. Feminism, or at the very least my version of feminism, is all about equal rights. I don’t think it’s not an issue, and I certainly don’t think that men like it. I don’t know what to tell you other than that those people aren’t truly feminists.

And I disagree with that. I think that accusations, whether it’s rape, abuse, harassment, and anything in between, from males AND females, should be listened to but not necessarily believed until there’s proof. I know that women are advantaged in that way, and I agree that it needs to change.

I absolutely don’t think that false rape allegations are okay under any circumstance. Those women are total pieces of shit and deserve the same time in prison as rapist. They’re ruining an innocent life. However, a very small percentage of rape allegations are proven to be false. On the other hand, though, many rapists don’t get any time at all. My goal wasn’t ever to demean men who are accused of rape OR male rape victims. Rapists and people who lie about rape are both awful.
