I don't know where you are but fresh grads getting six figures isn't bs. I got a six figure job right out of school in a small start up with less than 10 developers and most of my young coworkers are in a similar boat. You're right that indeed cucklifornia is a living hell in terms of cost of living and taxes, but there are plenty of companies out here that are willing to pay decently for new grads.
