The food sounds amazing! I'm going to Tanzania for 6 weeks this summer! 4 weeks of summer elective, and 2 weeks holiday in Zanzibar (hopefully with a safari thrown in!). I absolutely can't wait. Do you have any tips on where to stay in Zanzibar or general things to do on the island? How safe is it? I have to disagree with you there. There's something about good female friendships that is really special. I have a great group of girlfriends and talking to them makes me happy in a way that I don't get when talking to men. It depends on the woman, obviously, but I honestly think that the majority of women (and people!) have their heart in the right place. Nobody is perfect and yes, jealousy may crop up from time to time but with a strong bond and some maturity it should not be a problem!

Thanks for your reply :) You're right with regards to people gossiping; our class is very close and absolutely EVERYBODY knows the moment people get together. We are about to break up for the summer so maybe that will become less of a problem soon. With asking him out, I was worried about coming on too strong and scaring him off (especially because I don't know for sure that he likes me back) but I suppose it's better to find out rather than keep on trying to guess how he feels!

I am also in a European (Irish) college and, while it is true that the vast majority of people drink, I find it quite easy to make friends with nice girls by being friendly, open and smiling a lot. Maybe this is because of the religious culture but the ONS phenomenon is not as prevalent as it seems to be elsewhere. I said it because the show is aired by the government-funded national broadcaster, which many people watch daily. This is why it may be perceptible to criticism, more so than pinterest boards or youtube channels dedicated specifically to that purpose.
