Exactly, I agree with what you're saying. It's just that we have a tendency to be a little disrespectful to the families and relatives of the victims sometimes and I wanted to comment early on in hopes of avoiding that.

I'm not trying to downplay this but could we please not start flashing this fact in people's faces as "oooh look were so oppressed here in New Jersey" We make fun of feminists who do that because it's wrong and stupid and very selfish to take the greatest suffering many people will ever endure and use it for our political purposes. And when feminists bring in examples from outside of the US or west in general we're the first to say that it's not relevant to the group parading the facts. This is …

Alrighty then. So point blank ALSO means "close" in this context?
/r/MensRights29/01/15 01:15 PM

But it was up against his head so how far off could the shot be? Edit: honestly I'm confused now cause Oxford English just describes it as very near. Are you taking the piss here?

Which is never going to hold up in the typical heated discussion regardless of it being true or false. But eh I guess we're not even talking about the same thing anyways.

So what you are telling me is that this was not a potential point-blank shot?

Well no shit, I mean, he was at point-blank.

We can't ask others to always assume the male is innocent until proven guilty and then bitch around and immediately change our ideas when talking about a woman. It's a dirty trick.
/r/MensRights28/01/15 12:58 PM

Or depending in the meat I can add some nice sauce! I don't mind being a murderous male responsible for everything bad, as long as I get that tenderloin...

Considering the type of literature allowed and promoted, I don't think this book should die. Is there a way we can purchase the rights? Fund a reprinting? Is there a digital version one can find online? Edit: as a testament to my tremendous idiocy, I will leave this post here.

/r/MensRights29/12/14 01:29 PM

Well shit I was just saying what I saw. Whatever maybe you're right. Ps: It's Christmas Eve so you go have fun eh!
/r/MensRights24/12/14 09:23 PM

There's criticism and there's people not constructing any kind of argument beyond "man, women are all just after us" and you can deny it all you want, they keep coming up with examples and it tarnishes the image of a good cause.
/r/MensRights24/12/14 09:12 PM
-9

This is exactly why I think this sub should take a new direction. Let's face it: rape is not funny. Feminists who freak out the way you said, however, is old school god-tier comedy. If we look at all the stupid shit that irritates us and instead turn it into a satire thing, we will be far from harming men's rights. I mean I look at the sub and there's so many people that are wishing to be the monsters they bash that I'm almost sure feminists don't need to make fake accounts.
/r/MensRights24/12/14 05:22 PM

But isn't there a name for a logical fallacy due to using hard statistics incorrectly? Edit: think it's misuse of statistics. Edit edit: in fact isn't your comment an appeal to ridicule? It's sort of a loaded question to say "wow, you really think this way? Hah!" So another fallacy? Why all the questions? Why am I being such a dick? Why am I working on Christmas?
/r/MensRights23/12/14 07:40 PM

It's pretty obvious though. I mean right before that she's joking about hard and soft penises. Hell I think she even said something about Craig's dick. I mean, this girl has less issues than the person freaking out over her actions.
/r/MensRights21/12/14 08:10 PM

Not really. She's joking at the gross things her boyfriend does (she says she recently moved in with him). The sperm thing is just a jab at guys. Nothing too serious if you ask me.

Ok while the law itself is one thing, I really hope you guys realize this is going to be repeated with the headlines "MRA defends rapist of 8 year old boy" We're kinda shit at PR I guess... "The expansion of the law this legislative session includes a provision that permits the State Attorney's Office to "red-flag" inmates being held at the Duval County jail..." THIS IS WHAT NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT! Who gets to judge a red-flag and how do they do it. In this case I believe they used psychologists.

My point wasn't that you have to beat them. It's that you argue about beatings "not making it better" but somehow those 15 years in jail will produce a capable and competent adult by your logic. There's nothing to make better here. And I'm very glad not to be the person responsible for fixing these people.

I know this might be taken the wrong way here, but I would agree to it if I was paid overtime for the week since I would be filling in some of their positions. It would be fair. Not because it would change the reason but because it would at least make the outcome reasonable.

I agree. We're being too contrarian here with what they propose and this seems like something that could backfire in a good way for everyone. As long as kids still interact with recess, the social development shouldn't be hurt. Girls in my school used much more distracting than the boys and I wouldn't think it would be too much of a bad idea.

I am only threatened by the part of Islam which wants to cut off my dick and or other parts. Same way for Judaism or Christianity or atheism. There. Besides, more people go against circumcision for anti-Jewish sentiment rather than anti-Islamic sentiment because the perception of it outside the two groups is far more aware of the fact that Jewish people do it rather than Islamic people do it. And despite that, assuming that a very significant majority of people are trying to attack someone's god…

However, if she accused him of trying to make her want sex with him, he probably could use the "I literally don't have sex with women" excuse. I mean it wouldn't be absolute but it would be very convincing.

How about the average feminist? The literature isn't pulling fire alarms, skipping trial, or abusing people. The literature could be fantastic. Nobody reads it. Edit: After rereading my comment I realize there's no concise point, I'm just saying that the definition of feminism is different from it's execution and that's a human problem. Denying it (especially as a true feminist) is forcing the issue under the sheets. No literature does that.

That's still an ideology though, right?

Because it focuses on helping men rather than antagonizing women! I know we don't intend to hate women but it happens we ignore the line between "crazy radical feminist" and "every other person". Maybe because of the "you know what I meant" feeling on this sub due to this occurring all the time, but not everyone that visits here will "know what I meant" so we don't want to put out an image of intolerance based on incomprehension.

Is this like saying that "since men are stronger, women are the victim etc"? I'm not dissing, it's an honest question. I don't want to be a dick I just want to know if there's a difference. (And what it would be if there is)

That usually has more to do with mating trends no? Population control? I'm far from a deer expert (he's in another city now), can someone clarify? I feel like reaching at every non-opportunity we have to say that "the male is a victim" won't help us in moments where there are real victims (male/female) suffering. We should not forget that women by nature have one main resemblance with men, they're both people. Ultimately, when we work in the same direction, (be it hate or progress) we always end…

Women have always suffered more in war, it was always the women's sons, the WOMEN's brothers, the husbands that BELONG TO WOMEN that died. How selfish of the menpigs. I have an equal opinion of men and women. I see many men in varying degrees of wealth leashed with sex. Shit, it already happened to me! So I'd have to have that same opinion of myself, right? C'mon we're all cool here. Edit: before somebody twists my words, I'm not saying women are all doing this or implying anything about anyone.
/r/MensRights16/07/14 11:03 PM

You can't say anything in reply to your comment because some men think women use sex like telepathy and can shoot submissive tit-flashes at men and those men will collapse. So of course if they did that then there would be more women in power. But most people don't think that way. However, if you leash a politician/fatcat with sex, you have plenty of comfort and even power, and nobody thinks of you that way. It's having more "power" in the relationship.

My favourite thing to hear/say in situations where people are sermonizing a gender: "what? It's people yo chill" I go to a park about 10 minutes away from my place on sunny sundays and hang out for about an hour there, planning my week and what not. Very often I spend half that time talking to a jogger on break or a homeless dude or some local stoners or anyone really. The best people don't give a shit really. They're sort of preoccupied with their "bubble" of thoughts and to-do's and sure they'…

Of course it's normal to be scared when someone regardless of physique gets confrontational. I don't imagine too many crackheads being super-fit but I would confront a physically imposing person over a scrawny crackhead any day, so you make sense in saying that people can be scared. Its just that in that article (and the comment section on the linked site), people are going crazy. It's like the only thing about this baby that decides wether it gets to be pampered or taught "how to be careful/sub…

I agree that we definitely lost some prime comedy to the ages. Something about misery makes it relatable to most people who've felt it under one form or another and the people from that time period you're talking of were perhaps the best ever at making misery into relatable comedy. That something that I think is the dopest thing we have; humans ability to trivialize their own suffering. (Now of course this is far from relatable in ALL cases. But I'm referring to those where it is)

If that person would, they could be given considerable amounts of crap. Not saying they shouldn't or should. But it is how it is eh. Women can't question radical feminists any more than men or the president or E.T.

Perhaps, but I don't see the problem with letting both parents take same leave and making both fire rescuers take the same exam. I'm assuming neither did anybody else in this thread and I'm talking into the void.

That already happens. Besides, that's pretending that a man necessarily assigns less importance to his intimacy and it's using the crappiest statistics. "Men show less trauma." You're using this in r/mensrights??? Men are made fun of for showing they even consider it rape. Edit: what expansion? Penis goes in --> rape?

That's what I got out of it too, but I didn't take to any large gardening/farming tools because I'm just happy with at least this. It's a step in the right direction I can't force myself to point out that the step was a stumble for fear of not having any more steps.

Ok I'm a little less lost now. I still think rape should not be limited to penetration. If someone gets on my dick and I never wanted it I think it's rape. No less than penetrative.

This is great. There was no matri/patri bullshit they went to court over something that wasn't fair, got things evened out, and now it's cool. Nobody gets their life ruined, nobody is receiving death threats from groups on the extreme, just the money and good times. On top of all that it shows that the world is giving in a little more and more. Baby steps are steps.

Hey can someone explain to me why it's a bad thing? I'm not trying to start some shit or anything I'm serious. It sound reasonable no? Which isn't a good thing. You're being cool and right or whatever but give me that one reasonable discussion we had that started as "you're a white knight mangina" for reference. Or hell take it further and think of a racist guy saying some fucked up things but "hey it's just statistics! I say what I see!" I might not be making the right point here, all I'm saying is my little niece can call things the way she sees it but it doesn't help her in debates over gender equality.

Well, in the states, rehabilitation is a special occasion and doesn't happen by plan. "Punishment" is stupid but rehabilitation takes a whole different approach. Perhaps one where the subject to be rehabilitated is treated like, y'know, a human. But I agree that at this point sending him to jail will only cost a bit of money and perhaps his entire future without giving us anything back.

You have a hard time calling it pedophilia because you have a hard time discerning between a 13 year old doing stupid shit that impulsive hormonal teenagers do and an adult woman who knows what she wants. When you sleep with a kid, regardless of how that kid was dressed or how "mature" she looked, you're sleeping with a kid. She could've been spiritually transplanted into an adult woman body for all I care.
/r/MensRights17/03/14 07:02 PM

I'd agree with you, but you seem to gloss over the fact that this guy is 21 and she is 13. There's a difference between being lenient to boys and lenient to pedophiles. I'm 100% with anyone saying we should treat both genders equally (in fact a case-by-case approach would work too if it took into account gender equality), but saying this is correct is not only the best way to set a movement back, but also hypocritical.

A bad reputation is actually a very heavy price to pay considering the way you can get judged in the US. Aren't we all about how false rape claims give bad reputation? Isn't a bad reputation usually what destroys lives and we're so quick to wish for people responsible to suffer some horrible fate or another, yet now reputation is silly and unimportant and "if this world doesn't accept us, it's not one we want to live in anyway"
/r/MensRights17/03/14 04:16 PM

Why? Because one of the biggest labels your type of arguing earns you is that of a pedophile. I'm not saying you are one. I'm saying the guy above you who says "yo this whole underage sex thing is never ever ever going to be a good arguing point for us" is right. The whole world (or at least too big a part of it) sees men's right activists as pedophiles (for your own sake you know some people think all MEN pedophiles). That's why he says we should keep it out of the sub and that's why I say he's…

What the fuck? How is this good? How is it good that we bitch all the time about the law being lax on women and it's horrible and our poor boys get raped and ignored (which is very serious nobody denies) but when he's 21 and she's 13 it's allgoody? I don't care if she came on to him, dressed like a whore, sucked his dick, whatever. He shouldn't have sexytimes with a 13yr old. He shouldn't be let go same as a woman who fucked a 13 yr old shouldn't be let to. You guys are nuts. You point out the m…
