Hah, totally with you sister. I have been doing a lot of work/healing related to this and the podcast Attached to the Invisible was really helpful to me in making connections between my attachment style and my (Christian) faith, and healing things from there. Also recommend the book Women Who Love Too Much.

I’m naturally quite messy but think I’ve gotten to a point where I’m pretty tidy and clean. You mentioned Marie Kondo, who I love, but I would recommend focusing on the more spiritual/psychological side of things than the getting rid of/storing part—exercise showing gratitude and care for your belongings and in general cultivate intentionality. Kind of, in the sense that it addresses a desire for attention that people try to receive from people who aren't capable/willing to give it, as a way of reaffirming and trying to "do-over" past situations in which we were neglected.
