I don't think it's wrong to draw lessons from fictional characters at all, the good ones are good because they're so real and unique. But James Bond is a loser.

Dude you should not create fake profiles and judging by your post history you really need to start working on yourself first.

Wow no thank you, or is this more along the lines of: don't give a fuck about things that are unimportant

Ah maybe I should, looks interesting, for more “polarizing“ perfumes, how do you decide when to wear them?

I'm guessing that you're just looking for a simple suggestion that's nothing special and will generally be liked by anyone, in that case: Sauvage by Dior

I mean… you heard wrong? It’s a super common misconception that even some people involved with the literature still make (a more subtle variant though). If you’re in the first group I can tell you that stoicism has walked the same path as “literally” and ended up being used differently from it’s original meaning. If you’re in the second group I can tell you that not being a slave to you passions is different from disabling your emotions.

I'm sorry dude but you seem to be misunderstanding what stoicism is. I'd say self-amusement and ambition are core to the stoic ethos. If you're interested in reading some stuff about stoicism Marcus Aurelius and Seneca are a good place to start.

This is how you end up with crippling insecurities. Also it's major needy energy to compromise on virtue and one's own character because you're scared of rejection.

It was just an example, wasn't talking about me. There is a big difference between scary/exciting and feeling like you're about to fucking die. Exposure therapy used to be pretty popular but in the last 5 years a lot of studies have been coming out completely debunking the more extreme versions. If you're scared of dogs, don't outright lock yourself in a room full of large barking dogs, try something much gentler first. Like petting a very small and silent dog. After that stops being exciting, t…

Exposure therapy that doesn't feel safe or not resulting in a desirable outcome can end up just functioning as confirmation for a dysfunctional belief. Example: I tried talking to people in a bar, they rejected me and I made them uncomfortable, thus people don't like me and I'm not attractive or desirable.

Deff best advice, focus on developing yourself as a person (it can indeed take some serious time, e.g. years) and your social circle. If you want an easy place to start: Charisma on Command is pretty good!

Depending on how bad one's social anxiety is this can do more hard than good

Have you tried seeing a psychologist? Depending on where you live it might be free, sometime you just need a little push with some more serious problems that you can't seem to fix on your own.

"laugh at and deem inferior"? Come on man you should actually read something like meditations for once, your writing style would conventionally be interpreted as angry, I don't know you so I could be wrong but then again up until this point you have called me a butthurt insecure person that wil never get a girl so...

I do absolutely not think that crying over one date is OK (do you think the author of this piece does? ), neither do I think crying is manly. You seem to be a bit bothered by my reaction, why are you so angry? I am not under the illusion that everyone is able to choose how he or she reacts to an event, it is a skill that took me time and effort for to learn. I am very happy that this is my current state and I do pity the people who have not reached it. You could be a little more understanding to…

For someone who's username has Aurelius' name in it you appear quite ignorant. Who knows this might be the straw that broke the camels back, not everyone is a hyper-enlightened stoic with a base-line inner happiness that cannot be compromised by any external events. Furthermore I think your concern with whether or not expressing one's feelings openly is sexy or manly is quite unhealthy. You don't know this persons path, do not assume to.

Agree on the first part, just present a confident affirmative reply.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
