Are you implying that the legal loss of bodily autonomy is revenge against women and not the in the actual interest of children? Because you’d be right. So thanks for admitting it.

Society isn’t burning to the ground bc more people are fucking. Matter of fact, the more open we are about sexual education, the less you see things like teen pregnancies and STDs. I promise you the world isn’t ending because of OnlyFans, it’s ending bc the oligarchs have us pitted against each other so we can vote against each others freedom and rage bait each other into oblivion so no one notices they’ve been lining their pockets

The relationships humans have with food vs with other humans is vastly different, but okay. I’ll bite. Think of it this way. A health food company starts selling its products under the guise of good decisions. They sell prepackaged salads, salmon dinners, loaded with vegetables and protein, low carb. But the nutrients label is inaccurate. They purposefully lie on the label about the ingredients, calories, fat, sugar, and sodium. A healthy individual who works a lot and doesn’t have time or energ…

I disagree. People are not at fault for choosing bad people. Preventative action should always be encouraged, but saying it’s the victim’s fault for choosing poorly is toxic and counterproductive. That coherent enough for you?

You said it was women’s fault if they choose bad men. I’m making the point that it’s more complicated, for either side. And playing the finger pointing game of “well why didn’t you x, y, and z” and “how did you not notice [insert traits]” will solve literally nothing and only delegitimizes people’s experiences. People put on their best face when they start seeing someone - especially manipulators and abusers. We can talk about preventative strategy and teach people about warning signs, but to sa…

I didn’t say they didn’t - but you can’t complain about shitty things that women do in relationships and then turn around and say women are at fault because they don’t choose well. Maybe men could’ve done better at choosing a woman that wasn’t going to leave? Do you see the problem here. And I’m not responding to my own delusions - I’m continuing a pre-existing conversation and expressing that A) the behavior mentioned in the quote isn’t even problematic or surprising in the slightest and B) it’…

Because the people who bring up these talking points are the same ones that complain about divorce rates initiated by women and injustices against men in relationships. Men are absolutely susceptible to domestic violence as well, and yes - it does need to be a conversation - but right now, the specific topic is women “choosing poorly” based on something that seemingly has nothing to do with DV. I’m making the point that the phenomenon Sandberg brings up is not exclusive to women, it’s a common t…

She’s not talking about men who are obviously abusers and display all red flags from the get go. Shes stating the exact same phenomenon young men go through. Watch literally any YA movie - young people want their relationships to be exciting and adventurous (generally). The boyfriend trope young women idealize may be “edgy”, but not “I beat my partners” edgy. Obviously. As a young person, you’re intrigued by challenging norms and breaking rules. A man who is fun and a bit of a rule breaker doesn…

the difference is love and emotional intimacy. I’m sorry, but I do not get a very lovable vibe from a lot of the men here. I don’t want to be in a relationship with someone who doesn’t respect me, feels some typa way about women working/voting, blames men being lonely on me and other women, and is generally resentful against me for things that have nothing to do with me. And expects me to maintain a clean house, dinner on the table, manage the household, and bring home half the bacon. I’ve been …

Then I extend the question: do you think these women genuinely had interest in getting their partners off? Or were they selfish lovers? There was a time in which I would’ve considered myself promiscuous, I see no shame in it. I think safe sex can be a very healthy and healing thing, and I get off on my partners getting off. I can certainly say I’ve gotten better at sex since my very awkward first few times. I’m nothing to write home about, but I definitely keep my partner happy. Because I’m atte…

Practice does not always make perfect, but I don’t understand how it’s a fallacy to expect experience to improve performance. If a person refuses to listen to the video games rules and strategies and has no interest in improving, they’ll get whomped by six year olds. If, however, they genuinely care about getting better and invest not only time - but effort - in doing so, they will generally improve. And most people with healthy sex lives do practice in being communicative and attentive with the…

Oh no it’s a flawed execution for sure. But there ARE reports of abuse and SA on there, the intention of most women on there is far from malicious. Retaliating by sharing 72,000 images of user IDs and subsequently rating their looks is a nuts reaction.

I signed up for Tea about a year ago. About three or so years ago I left an abusive relationship for good and was essentially blown off by the justice system. Little to no effort to deliver my judge-approved order of protection, little to no shits given the 20+ times that order was violated, I submitted photo and textual evidence of physical assault and the my case was ruled to be”lack evidence”. It’s not discrimination- no one is saying that. They’re saying the idea some men spread about women not enjoying sex or that the female orgasm doesn’t matter is sexist and selfish. And usually grade-A copium for being bad in bed.

definitely agree with the right to sexual autonomy - you’re absolutely not doing anything wrong expressing and maintaining sexual boundaries. That being said, it’s the language that gives me a bad vibe. Not what you choose to do with your body and intimacy. You never hear men saying they’re “giving themselves away” or “saving themselves for x and y”. There’s no denying that the conversation revolving sex is completely different between a male and female audience. As if female sexuality is someth…

Insecure people attract insecure people. I’ve had so many men say to me “you’re not at all like other females - I wish more were like you” - after having a basic conversation. Like…thanks? But no thanks. I’m actually exactly like a lot of “females” - you’re just hanging out in weird spaces giving off weird vibes and letting in weird people. “Destroyed male only spaces” - you mean…getting jobs? Equal opportunity? what? “Everything was an all boys club” - cool, what the fuck did you want us to do? Stay in the kitchen? Good lord man. Weird that in one line you mention that women don’t have painful experiences to draw inspiration on for comedy. Not only is the whole “you need to be traumatized to make good art” thing a myth, you also mention rape in the next line? Huh?? Dude I’m just baffled by your line of thinking, ngl.

I’ve definitely heard say they’re attracted to traditional and feminine behavior like cooking or childrearing. Physical labor tho is a mixed example because men and bi women are also attracted to women doing manual labor. I think it has more to do with showing skin, sweating, physical exertion, and how it triggers the “sex alert” part of our monkey brains.

There’s 100% a strange stigma surrounding bisexuality. Even my homophobic parents weren’t soothed by the fact that I also like men - told me to “pick one or the other” because I was “statistically more likely to cheat” and that it was proof I was just confused. (They’re…slightly more enlightened now. Slightly.) I have no quarrel with a man who is bi - kinda wish my boyfriend was bi (no dice - he said he might’ve been in another life, but is 100% straight in this one). My experience with straight…

Yeah - so do celebrities. This is their job. OF is not for emotional connection, if you’re using it for that then you need to find healthier social outlets. That’s not feminism, it’s an economic and social wellbeing failure of developing society that we need to correct. I work with a lot of men in sales and business. Always have. So it’s fine when men have control over the porn industry via services like pornhub, but self employed adult content creators are manipulating young men…? How is that the creators problem? You could argue on the same note that directors of rated R movies manipulate kids into watching them because the trailer looks cool. Wdym emotional manipulation? Kids have always snuck alcohol and cigarettes and other adult things because they want to feel grown up. Of course there needs to be vigilance and parenting and discipline to avoid this as much as possible, but ultimately teens can be sneaky and stubborn. Underpaid school staff, lack of care and investment into our education systems, I mean shit. Idk where you’re from but if you look at the US, education has been in the gutter and getting worse. Back then an mp3 player in your pocket meant detention - why the fuck are kids allowed to use their phones in class? It’s not a gender thing, it’s carelessness and neglect caused by class differences. Parents don’t have time to parent, schools are underfunded and often half staffed by people who don’t get…

Yeah it’s a weird stance to take. Also doesn’t mean shit. I went to a school where teachers hit students. I got spanked one time for crying. (Not in USA - plus that school was WAYYY outta line, my parents took me out when they found out what was happening) Abuse doesn’t create better students, it creates fear, complacency, and rebellion. “Civilization will collapse” this dude is nuts. Like you said, if men won’t read because women can, that’s their problem - not mine. Sounds to me like he’s projecting who HE wants to be as a man and what HE thinks masculinity is. Women have expressed a love for a variety of men, especially the pretty boys and nerdy boys. If it makes you feel better, nothing is an absolute here. Human social interaction is hard. Takes a lot of reading between the lines - for men AND women. It’s not that women aren’t straightforward, humans generally are not. You need to assess the situation from start to finish when interacting with strangers because coming off too strong is off putting to anyone. if you don’t want food poisoning, don’t eat. Simple as that. Sex is natural. Humans have always had sex for pleasure, not just for babymaking. And people here projecting their insecurities about not having sex by advocating for women losing their bodily autonomy because “she deserves it” and she “needs to take accountability” is absolutely fucking pathetic and embarrassing.

please tell me how an abortion is avoiding accountability. sounds more responsible to me than having a baby you don’t want and/or aren’t able to care for. and why is it the woman bearing the brunt of “taking accountability” and not the man who is equally as responsible? I’m not talking about sexual consent - I’m talking about courting. Not all boys - but a LOT of boys - are taught through culture to keep trying. Get her more gifts, pay for her things, keep upping the ante until you can’t anymore. This results in deflated self esteem. You see it happen all the time. It’s not healthy for either party.

I promise you it’s a thing. I’m 25 years old and this was the narrative for me growing up - just opposite. If he’s mean to you, it’s because he likes you. If he’s relentless, you owe him a chance. If you don’t give him a chance, you’re a shitty and shallow person. A lot of men are taught to push. A lot of women are taught the counter: to give in. Sounds shitty both ways if you ask me.

I hate the narrative that men receive growing up to keep trying if she’s not interested. That women love to be chased and a “no” is playing hard to get. Stop teaching our boys that, for their sake and the sake of the people they court. It’ll just whittle down at their self esteem when the repeated attempts don’t work, or worse, make their attempts more aggressive. Teach them about compatibility and consent. If someone isn’t interested, yes it sucks but ya gotta move on. If they ARE playing hard …

Or asking me in an uber ride to work if I’m into “bad boys” and if I’ve ever made out with women. In a 2-seat vehicle. At 7:30 am. I’m a completely different person- I can’t IMAGINE what a much older person’s life must’ve been compared to mine. Hot or not, woman or man. This is just such a weird argument to make. Absolutely. Focus on you first. Sounds like you could definitely use some support and affirmation. And I’m sure a relationship would definitely help you feel lovable, but you should know that it’s not a cure-all. I’m not so sure. It’s the intention that counts. If I offer to cook for my partner, it’s not because I don’t think he can do it right because he’s a man. It’s because I love him and want him to relax. If he takes the trash out for me, it’s not because I’m a woman and I can’t do it right, it’s because he knows I’m sensitive to smells and he loves me.

I think we see this the worst in online echo chamber spaces. For the most part realistically, male sexuality has been the forefront of media, advertising, art, etc. Growing up, I was definitely hyper aware that women had to be more reserved about sexuality and desire - virginity was more valuable and men don’t want someone “used up”. Wearing a crop top and leggings as a 12 year old got me unsolicited comments that men might get the wrong idea about me. Grown men. Yuck. You’re right, over correct…

That’s great for you! And when in a healthy interaction, it can feel amazing being loved for your body. But men have a different social relationship than women (generally) with being objectified. A lot of us have been catcalled and prodded in public, strangers groping or grabbing you or loudly announcing sexual remarks to you. It’s humiliating. Women and girls have only alarmingly recently been taken seriously when it comes to autism diagnoses AND treatment. Used to be she’d get sent to a home if she was high support enough. So I don’t think that “men are disposable and women are morally superior” is really an accurate statement on mental and physical healthcare gender biases. And this isn’t going back multiple generations, this is as early as the 90s. To be fair, autism treatment has always had a problematic history for both genders, …

Most men don’t rape women, but the vast majority of women have experienced sexual assault or harassment. Most men aren’t monsters, this is true. Most men are not even remotely dangerous. So can you imagine the level of damage done by that small percentage? If you’re dismissive of this with statements like “but I’M not a rapist” you’re part of the problem.

No, I don’t think MTG is on the same level of “deserves to be assassinated”. I do think if the CEO was a woman, the reaction would’ve been the same with a different angle from alt-right groups. Mangione would’ve been labeled a violent misogynist killer instead of a terrorist.

I was abused in my last relationship. Looking back, there were definitely signs, but they meant nothing in the moment because I was happy. I liked him, my friends liked him, it was great. Until it wasn’t. Suddenly, my friends stopped liking him. We were fighting a lot more, but arguments were slowly spun to the point where I wouldn’t even remember what we were fighting about. All I knew is that it was my fault. I stopped going out as much because he needed me home for one reason or another, and …

idk, the hatred against someone like Marjorie Taylor Greene is without gender. That bitch sucks. If anything, left-leaning women tend to clash more with alt-right women than men do. If anything, I see upper class alt-right assholes spinning the narrative that Manione is a violent misogynist and using it to create further division. 90% of the “gender war” is actually a class war. And we eat that shit up.

I’m at work and don’t care enough to provide studies on female behavior because a) I am a female, b) I talk to females, c) I understand females, and d) my dating life is fine. I’ve dated men and women. I don’t need to follow up with peer reviewed psychological data to understand human nuance and interactions. I’m just having a conversation. But you can keep yelling if you like. I don’t need psychological studies and data to continue to reinforce the points that I already told you I agreed with. …

Yes, this was already addressed. We already talked about how there’s an inherent pretty privilege. Men are also obsessed with looks. This is not a gender war issue. It’s just a human thing. I like pretty people. So do you. But when presented the question “what is most important in a partner”, social conditioning generates different answers in men and women. Not malice, not virtue signaling, not “hahaha lets fuck up male perception of dating and relationships for the lolz”. Just different PERCEPT…

The board was invented to do one thing but let’s be honest, there’s a lot more men than women here and it does become an echo chamber of telling women what they are, what they believe, what their true intentions are, etc etc etc. the narrative that women are lying about what they like in men is not a new one. Your personality is a product of your biology and environment. Your looks are not your full personality - and if they are, yikes. Yes, the life you live can be heavily influenced by the way…

Social conditioning. Again. It’s social conditioning. Very few women are legitimately claiming looks don’t matter AT ALL. It’s just not on the forefront of our active considerations.

I never said I think we’re less superficial. I think we’re probably equally superficial and it’s more socially acceptable (with a slight change in recent years and internet culture) for men to be open about physical preferences. All in all in average, both sexes probably value looks and personality on equal scales. We just perceive the world differently based on how we were raised and the environment we exist in.

That’s fair. I’d say for me at least, the attraction gets you through the door faster. But the personality, values, mutual interests, etc is what will be the glue of the relationship. It’s what will make it happy, fulfilling, and ultimately lasting longer. I agree that fewer women are willing to put up with unhappy or unsatisfactory relationships and would prefer to just be single. I think it’s a direct result of our history and not needing to be a wife to live a standard life anymore. All in al…

Okay? We were friends for a year after our respective breakups. Feelings developed over time slowly. His personality IS attractive to me. I never said his looks didn’t matter. They both matter. Smaller guys do exist, male victims of DV and SA exist, and they have just as much validity as female victims. But it’s extremely disproportionate. It’s conditioned. Women are expected to value these traits more - you’ve seen the reactions on this very sub when women state their preferences. Additionally, since it’s conditioned, we think actively more about traits like kindness while physical attraction is a passive feeling. Lastly, women have more to lose when a man is unkind, as men are bigger and stronger. We have to think about our safety. “Bad behavior is tolerated more with attractive men tho!” Yes, that goes both ways. Hot girls are …

Truly don’t know why yall insist that this is either a big deal nor not obvious information. And yeah, pretty privilege is real. Idk what to tell you, you never proved personality doesn’t matter, and it’s very strange that you dedicate so much time convincing women that they are not influenced by personality when selecting a pa…
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/25 02:51 PM

I just don’t know why yall insist to die on the hill that personality doesn’t factor in at all. Obviously physical attraction is a big factor. No one wants to date someone theyre not attracted to physically. Additionally, telling women that they are WRONG about what they look for in a partner is incredibly odd behavior, but go off. “My favorite color is green” “ummm source????“ It’s subjective, weirdo.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/25 02:45 PM

It’s extremely conditioned at this point because women are expected to care more about these things. It’s not because we want to appear more virtuous. Additionally, how attractive they are is not something we tend to think about actively - it’s just a natural sense. Whereas things like kindness and mutual interests are VALUES that we DO actively think about and consider. It’s not so crazy and no, no one is trying to gaslight men.

What doesn’t make sense is that you treat men like sex-crazed creatures and women as the prey. If they have sex and get pregnant, they deserved it. If they can’t get pregnant, they owe it to men. Men have agency and intelligence. Give them that credit, bc you’re just as bad if not worse than misandrists for this take. No, because you’re not carrying it. Yall won’t shut the fuck up about women and accountability for having sex until the subject of child support comes up. You wanna talk consequence for having sex? There it is. Do I think we need better reform with how the courts handle this issue? Absolutely. But it’s just gonna get worse if abortion isn’t a choice in the first place.

So humans should only have sex for the purpose of childbearing? Not for pleasure? Alright. Two way street. No reproductive rights for me nor for thee. Mandatory vasectomies. Unless you can prove to a medical professional you intend on having children immediately, no reversals. If pregnancy fails within a six week time period, snipped again.

It could also easily be higher rates of religious belief - which generally looks down on/doesn’t allow divorce. But it doesn’t matter. That is not the conversation. These rates have to do with class issues, not gender or “SMV”. Yes, women being able to actually function within society lowered birth rates a bit. But the drastic decline we are seeing is economic. We can barely afford our groceries, why the hell would we wanna pop one out - esp without universal healthcare and the insane health risk pregnancy is in the first place. I’ve cut off friends who knowingly sleep with men that are in relationships. Or who cheat on their partners. The way I view it when my friends engage with toxic behaviors is: what’s stopping them from being toxic towards me? And why would I be friends with someone who doesn’t share my values? I don’t tolerate cheating. I think it’s nasty behavior. My values are important to me and I don’t want friends who are okay with cheating, just like I wouldn’t want friends who are racist or homophobic.

For sure, and I don’t think a simple conversation on consent will cover it - but I think more cultural openness on the topic of sex would help. If I’m being an idealist, I’d say it’d be nice if women could feel comfortable disclosing their body count, and men could feel comfortable disclosing lack of experience. I think somewhere along the line, we mistook sex as sacred - which it can be, personally. But when you take a natural concept and apply universal laws to it, it’s gonna make a mess. Huma…

It isn’t transforming shit, people are just more okay with sharing and talking about it now. Humans just have a rlly weird and warped perspective of sex and power dynamics and like to use it to shame others and bring themselves up: either as righteous and holier-than-thou, or as proof of conquest. I don’t understand the need to compare these things in hypotheticals. There are comments asking if you’d believe your daughter if she was SAd. Yes? Similarly I’d believe my son if he was SAd. I grew up in an ultra conservative household, too. Was taught super backwards ideas of women and virginity. Glad I got the hell outta there! I got sick of feeling ashamed for enjoying the things that brought me pleasure and fulfillment. I’m in a wonderful relationship right now and we have a great sex life. If anything, it made us better communicators in the bedroom. How does it cheapen it specifically? Because I genuinely still don’t see the issue here. If you don’t want a woman with a high body count, don’t date one. That’s fine and you’re entitled to your boundaries. But who are you to speak on the experiences of people who live differently from you and are hurting no one?

I’m actually so much in love! Marrying the man of my dreams, couldn’t be happier. I’m happy, healthy, and know how to communicate. I’d like for you to show me where you reached that conclusion, I am not quite seeing it. What’s empowering and liberating is making my own choices on what to do with my own body and being able to do so safely, AKA with access to birth control and women’s healthcare. Can you please explain to me how that’s causing harm to anyone?

I don’t think you’re being mean, and I also don’t think you’re particularly treading carefully either. I just think you’re misguided. I would love to see these studies. I have seen no such thing. Sexual liberation is a complicated subject, and in my opinion, it needs to be supported by three big things: access to birth control, competent sex education, and access to abortion and women’s healthcare. Without these things, of course sex in GENERAL can be harmful to women. But other than that, I don…

I don’t think it has to be special for everyone. What’s actually wrong with casual sex other than the fact that you don’t like it? Personally, I found it very healing and I learned a lot about myself. I speak pretty openly about sex (to willing parties obv) and I don’t intend on changing that. If people think I’m a slut for that, that’s fine. I’ll carry the title with pride.

I’m usually the one who makes the first move. I get impatient lol like I didn’t come here to fuck around. I wasted too much time waiting, not knowing, and missing chances. Nothing wrong with ladies making the first move - esp if the man is too shy (I love shy lil nerdy boys!). I’m horrible with numbers, too. I expect my partner to know something as simple as my birthday. It’s not this huge expectation, and men typically expect that too. If that’s such a big ask that it “infuriates” you (which is a bit dramatic - I thought women were supposed to be the emotional ones) then we are not compatible.

Well, some would count that as an action. It’s obviously not just about memorizing dates. I don’t remember most of my friend’s birthdays either - but I get them something thoughtful when I realize it’s coming up. Maybe I’ll help plan something or cover a dinner. A partner, however, should know when your birthday is if it’s long term. Super weird if they don’t, IMO. Aw. Perhaps. I suppose everyone has different values. I would be sad if my boyfriend forgot about my birthday - not because I specifically care about birthdays, but it’s thoughtful to remember and acknowledge those details. And some women go their whole lives never getting an orgasm from their husbands. I think the underlying issue here is our inability to talk and learn about sex like mature adults. Luckily now, there’s more information available than ever. I can see how that can be a concern. I won’t say it doesn’t happen. However, I will say sometimes all it takes is people getting to know each other better. It’s not so simple as attractive vs unattractive. They might find you attractive physically but not know you well enough to be into you romantically or even sexually. He asked me out from getting to know me? And it wasn’t out of nowhere. It had been building. You don’t walk up to a stranger and say, “do you want to be my friend?” You build a rapport. And women don’t have a problem with male friends asking them out. They take issue when they find out that was the only reason they became friends with you. Except, yes it is. Sexuality is driven by sociological, psychological, and biological components. The simplest and most common example is guys getting too nervous their first time and not being able to perform/performing early. Human sexuality is complex and diverse because we are complex social creatures. If someone, male or female, perceives male sexuality AS A WHOLE as a simple biological urge they act on, they are wrong.

All sexuality is complex. Most of us don’t subscribe to the “men will fuck anything” idea - it’s incredibly harmful to both men and women. I’m sorry, do you not value anything else besides sex in a relationship? I don’t think you’re getting what women mean, so let me give you the opposite scenario. A not uncommon response to rape or sexual assault is making yourself “ugly” or undesirable. Sometimes even subconsciously. And the response is to make yourself unwanted. Sometimes when you experience something awful like this, a huge part of the blow goes to your perception of self, and something that you might’ve been proud of (your beauty) is suddenly something you despise about yourself. My brother in Christ I have seen it happen. Yikes to that first sentence, too. I may have had family and friends that supported me when I left a man that beat me left and right on the reg, but when he was stalking me and violating his restraining order, I had no help from police. Nobody “catered” to me, not even a slap on the wrist. He got away with it. Do some research on it. Especially if you have sisters or women in your life that are close to you. No, it’s not the majority and it’s not super…

In what ways are men and women different that would justify people not minding their own business and keeping their shitty judgement to themselves?

Thank you. I’ve even heard shit like casual sex increases testosterone in women and gives them “masculine energy” which is unnatural because women are supposed to be pure. Idk about everyone else but I love casual sex and I haven’t grown a dick yet so

Yes. Also in the US, by extremely traditional and religious families. Especially if they’re married. It’s actually quite common for the family manipulate and coerce the woman to stay with the abusive husband, because divorce is not recognized by many churches. In South Korea, this is a MASSIVE problem. DV is rampant over there and it’s an extremely taboo subject. It’s seen as distasteful to discuss and shameful to the family of the victim. Because of this social stigma, many women are forced to …

I think it’s also the result in placing too many expectations on male sexuality to be dominant and masculine. It’s become a subject of pride. Women participating in “guy activities” like videogames or sports, or dressing like a guy, is comparatively culturally accepted. Sure there’s plenty of controlling shitheads that complain about this because they think they can control women’s appearance and behavior to match their own attraction. But overall, most people don’t bat an eye. But a man dressin…

I see your point dude, but it’s really hard to agree that it’s misandry when women are the ones facing the consequences. I think it’s less so misandry and more so the cultural product of historically viewing women as objects for male pleasure. It’s not that male sexuality is impure, it’s that male sexuality historically has been weaponized against women to establish ownership. That’s where comparisons like “women are x objects” come from. I’m sure you’ve heard “a new car is more valuable than a …

I think a lot of this also stems from men not having healthy coping habits and emotional outlets for heartbreak. Heartbreak is part of life. Rejection is part of life. Grief is part of life. I really wish a lot of y’all were given the skills to self soothe and seek help in a healthy way instead of coping via mass generalization.

What’s harmful to men isn’t having the choice to be traditional; it’s being raised to believe they don’t have a choice to begin with, and having that reinforced by the way you’re treated by the people around you in whichever space you may occupy. This is becoming more and more accepted, luckily, and as women are raised to have the choice to have jobs and not have kids if that’s the path they want, awareness is growing for men’s mental health and decent people advocate for men to embrace vulnerab…

It’s okay to want traditional gender roles in a relationship - men or women. What’s not okay is enforcing these roles on your partner, not communicating this to dates and feeling entitled to a certain treatment, or expecting all men or all women to follow YOUR standards and seeing them as less than when they don’t. THATS what’s harmful.

My bf is an introvert and has charisma up the ass. People love him right away. He’s just approachable and chill. Me? Extroverted but a hot mess socially. I trip on my words and confidence is a “fake it till you make it” typa situation. It’s a cruel irony and a perfect match lol

My boyfriend is extremely introverted, but knows to put himself out there because he wants human connection. Now that he has friends and a girlfriend he rlly just chills at home on discord when he’s not at work lol. If he hadn’t put himself out there, though, we likely wouldn’t have gotten close to begin with. I think he’s the best to be around, not boring at all and I never thought he was. But it would’ve been hard to meet him in the first place if he had never left his dorm years ago and becom…

my brother in Christ, I am in a healthy loving relationship, and I am a woman with a sex drive dating a man with a sex drive. he doesn’t expect sex out of me for good behavior, but I am sexually attracted to the way that he treats me because it makes me feel secure and loved. your views on sex, relationships, and women is very indicative of some deep personal issues. mayhaps get that checked out, my friend.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/24 01:55 AM

Are you kidding me? Every time my man picks me up from work without asking or does my chores on his day off, I start sweatin and go weak in the knees. Yeah he’s cute as hell and I always thought he was attractive but it was def personality that made me truly want him

Yeah exactly. Not gonna lie, it doesn’t surprise me one bit when i see someone online complaining about struggling with dating, but follows up the lament with terms like “smv”and other chronically online shit. We’re not houses, we’re human beings. Yes, a lot of women prefer “chads” but for the most part, people are attracted to confidence. Personally, I don’t like heavily assertive men. I like men who are kind and emotionally vulnerable. I like for my partner to treat me with empathy, respect, a…

My parents are extremely traditional - Asian-Latino Catholicism paired with immigrant status will do that to you. Even they are hell bent on me getting a stable career, and I agree with them. My mom is a SAHM, never had a job in her life, and she regrets it. Financial autonomy and self sufficiency is a powerful thing. These men know that. It’s not “sexual liberation” that is the problem. They don’t like the threat to unchecked power.

My brother in Christ, women (and men, too) are going to psychiatrists more because mental health awareness is on the rise (as it should be) and women are actually being treated now. In the days you’re fantasizing about, y’all just sent your women to the asylum if they ever complained. Respectfully, sit back down. This doesn’t make any coherent sense at all.

I wrote a whole response and accidentally deleted it. Kicking myself rn. The cause and effect of why some men turn out that way is important, but that is completely separate from justification. You are right there. What do I expect them to do? The same thing everyone does when experiencing heartbreak, loss, loneliness, or trauma. Go to therapy, see a coach, get a new look, develop some hobbies, strengthen your social circle or try to get a new one, anything that will boost your sense of confiden…

My man I’ve asked out every man or woman I’ve ever been interested in. Do you live under a rock? Seriously, do you have sisters? A mother? Any women in your life that you’ve had a genuine interaction with? I’ve been rejected so many goddamn times, it’s embarrassing. All of my friends have expressed interest in other men and gotten rejected before. I think out of the six or so relationships I’ve been in, the only time a man asked ME out and I said yes is my current relationship. Before that, it w…

I don’t believe they have the same problems, but let’s not sit here and pretend many men don’t react to their issues in dating with hatred towards women and a feeling of indignant entitlement. Rejection and loneliness are a part of life, how you react is up to you. And if your reaction is spouting false statements online, that’s one hell of a legacy you’re leaving behind and a memory I’m not sure you’ll be too fond of twenty years from now. Women don’t have it easy in dating, women do end up lon…

That’s not what feminism is. If a number of women here or there promote hatred and violence against men in the name of feminism, they are delusional and dangerous. As are the men who do that towards women. But you can’t sit here and tell me that gender violence is not disproportionately aimed against women.

I know plenty of women who have not found a partner. It is not an extreme outlier, and I’m not talking about people with physical deformities or disabilities. Dating app statistics are not indicative of real world interactions, and believing they are is incredibly unhealthy. As a woman, let me tell you that the majority of us are not looking for the top 5%. You wouldn’t fuck just about anybody who asks because you have standards, and sexuality and romance are very much about compatibility. Women…

My friend, I am simply saying that the statement that women always have options for mates is false. I don’t know where people got the idea that any woman can almost instantaneously find any partner they want and that sex is an unlimited resource for women, that is very much untrue, and believing that will only make you more bitter.

A general you. These communities of men. Lonely women who don’t have luck in the dating or sexual “market” do exist, and generally they are referred to as cat ladies or spinsters. Does that make better sense? Because you knew what I meant from the beginning and are purposefully evading my point.

My ex didn’t have a criminal history, had no evidence of being prone to violence, and was cheated on in his last relationship, so he told me that cheating was vile and something he could never do. I didn’t pick him because he was attractive. He actually was not conventionally attractive and was “short” according to most people’s standards. I fell in love with him because he was sweet, made me laugh, and he was passionate about the things he loved. I genuinely thought I picked well. He turned out…

Honestly. By snap, I don’t think he means “go on a long, angry tangent”. We’ve seen what happens when men “snap” and their excuse is no sex. It’s not a real excuse, it’s a cover for their own hatred and entitlement towards women. You see the same with shit men in even sexually active relationships or marriages. You’ve seen what happens when women deny their abusive partners sex. Anything ranging from temper tantrums, coercion, manipulation and gaslighting, physical violence, to forced rape. But …

Truthfully, i am not surprised. SK has a severe DV problem where the cultural expectation is to keep quiet and deal. I live in the US and lord knows my protections when I was being abused were few and far between, but at least I had people who loved me and supported me through it. I would’ve lost my mind if my own friends and family were urging me to keep things on the DL or try to convince me that it was in my head and I had to understand “his perspective”. If that had been my experience, or if…

okay then why hang out around these communities then? be picky, that’s fine. I’m happy for you, I’m glad you feel fulfilled in life - and you’re right, sex isn’t everything and it’s dangerous to measure your value based off the people you’ve slept with. read that last part again - that goes both ways. your value isn’t measured by your body count - low or high. it doesn’t matter if you’re a virgin or if you sleep around. let people be happy, treat others with respect, and love yourself. that’s it…

they act like we’re running some sort of conspiracy to exclude certain types of men, like be so fucking fr. Maybe a lot of it has to do with stunted development, shitty personalities, and a severe lack of therapy. Not to mention, people fall into these ideologies at an increasingly younger age. Ain’t no way you’re labeling yourself as “involuntary celibate” at 22. You’re so young and could be doing so much work on yourself, going out and having real experiences and getting to know people. fr, human relationships don’t function on these over-calculated strategies. it’s fine to have a personal rule to go by, but not everyone is going to function this way and it’s not going to work with everyone. the most important part is getting along and forming a connection. some women will want to have sex right away, others won’t want sex at all - both are perfectly okay as long as there’s sexual compatibility. My last relationship lasted four years and we slept together on the first date (he …

a lot of these debates miss the mark entirely because they fail to consider women as complex social creatures. “I couldn’t have sex with her right away, I had to take her on dates first >:(“ yeah congrats, she likes your personality and sees potential in you as a long term partner - which probably means regular, dependable sex. but a lot of these men are self fulfilling prophesies. they’ll get upset that sex didn’t come out after a compliment and a nice dinner and they’ll self sabotage, followed…
