Currently this top post has 3x more upvotes than the runner-up. Hard to overstate how I enjoy this. Communities like this constantly get shit by being uncritical circlejerks. But time and again here I see sensibility and members putting the health and respect of others above everything else. Hell just yesterday we had a lively and intelligent discussion of feminist criticisms. It's this kind of perspective that should be the beacon of PUA communities.

I have never met a real feminist who is not sex-positive. I agree with just about everything you've said in this thread so far, but I wanted to point something out with this. In the same way that you can say that you've never met a real X that is not Y, I can say I've never met a real PUA who is sexist. It's just a little too "no true Scotsman". Just as we can't decide who or what a PUA is outside of how they identify themselves, the same goes for feminists. I've met a few who would identify the…

Where do you live? About two years ago, I ran a gig as a dating coach for a company that moved away. If you're nearby, I'll hang out with you and get you there. EDIT: probably should have mentioned I'm in the Washington D.C. area.

I'm not sure what you're asking and what you're assuming about what I think. I don't think the guy did anything 'wrong' here, though I understand that according to some interpretations within the context of PUA doctrine that he may have, and within these contexts we can examine the actions with the idea of frame control, etc. I just don't think any of that is useful in this situation to understand what's happening, as the ideas are easily interpreted to fit any explanation. Because of this, I so…

I'm open to being shown that I'm wrong. But all of these sources are nothing more than opinion pieces. Two are from relationship advice websites and one is from a blog. I'm not really willing to change my understanding of emotions and their affect on the mind based on this. I would need scientific journals. As an aside, since you may be as interested in this kind of stuff as I am, this is easily the best book I've read so far that takes a scientific approach to an overall understanding of human …

It is then sent to the prefrontal cortex for processing via the executive function. There is a neurological reticulation that occurs, along which consciousness and agency attaches, and is at best still theory of mind. Suffice to say, our control over our emotions vary from person to person, and it's not necessarily a weakness either way. Just different ways to approach one's goals. You asked where jealousy comes from; it comes from the limbic system. What happens to jealousy, and the range at wh…

From what, then, does this jealousy arise? The limbic system. Would you not agree that if you are 100% secure in a situation then there is absolutely no reason to be jealous? Would you not agree that the brain and a person's behavior do not always follow what is reasonable? The point is, we cannot be afraid to lose what is not ours. And if your girl is going to go off with a guy that's hitting on her at a bar, she's not yours. Fighting that guy, getting mad at the girl, feeling and acting on jea…

A few things: Personal insecurity is not 1:1 linked to jealousy. It's possible to feel very secure in a situation and still, moment to moment, have instances of jealousy. Personal insecurity can happen to almost anyone. Theoretically, only a person with a Buddhist mindset would be working toward fully eliminating this, though I won't go into details here. For an alpha male who genuinely seeks sexual abundance, personal insecurity is a real danger. I've known many men who fit the alpha male stere…

I think you're relying on the perspective of shit tests too strongly to interpret the situation. Frame as well. These are words used a lot in the PUA community, but don't mistake them for a true basis of human psychology and motivation. They're better served as tools of guiding responses and behavior, not for understanding oneself and others. In this case, there was a bit of shit testing going on, but it was probably not to 'test frame'. It's most likely because the girl is insecure, or has a ve…

Not OP, but I think everyone is capable of jealousy. Looks like the guy is moving toward an LTR; in such a situation, no matter how easily I could get laid outside of the relationship, certain feelings I have cannot be accessed or controlled by my rationale. I would probably get jealous in that situation too. That said, I don't know what kind quality girl OP has here. She seems to hold on to anger longer than she lets on, and it seems like she's capable of manipulation and subversion in the face…

Game is not the end all. Getting women is not the end all. If you're motivated enough to work on yourself to get laid, surely you can work on more than a specific set of behaviors? Yes, if you master this stuff, which takes time, you'll get extremely hot chicks. But while you're at it, get in shape, work on your fashion, get to know people and find more friends, work on your job, go after other dreams, climb mountains, skydive, live, in all its Western glory. It might sound strange to put it thi…

First, it's "compliment" A complement is something that completes. Second, there is no context. The highest rated comment doesn't take this into regard. If you're new enough to ask a question like this, then you probably need to be told: everything is context sensitive and something like "keep trying" may be a really awkward reply if it doesn't make sense. Finally, and I'm assuming context here, try to look at it from her perspective. How do we all deal with compliments--it may just be her go-to…

Go one of two ways with this then. Send her a text next Thursday asking if she knows of anything to do that night, and get yourself a party to go to. OR, have a party already in mind and text her to get her friends out. Use her as social proof; you can throw routines out of the window at a party--it's about getting to know EVERYONE. Bar game is different from house party game--not enough PUAs make the distinction to newer guys. Social circle and college game are even more removed. Don't accumula…

Good job opening and being social, but I'd be more careful here. Are you in college? Game is completely different in college. You do NOT want to play it like each interaction is autonomous. If I were you, I would socialize with everyone the way you are with her, play it cool as hell--don't ask them out. Get a social circle, find out where the parties are and be the guy who's inviting the most women there. Play the popular guy number game. Consider this girl momentum to becoming the most social g…

Having said that, would women then be less likely to report true rapes if they were going to go to prison if they couldn't prove it? Damn, I may have just talked myself out of it--going to think about it. You probably thought about this already, but if the guy is acquitted because they couldn't find him guilty, but there is no proof that the woman is lying, then neither should face charges--considering the decision to punish for either side is still "innocent until proven otherwise".
