Y’know I think it isn’t just the therapists but also society at large. I just want to address the point about ADHD for a sec. While I do believe that boys get drugged up way too often for their behavior, I always find myself a bit confused about why ADHD meds are such a problem. I happen to have somewhat severe ADHD, and I’m on Adderall (18, started taking it at 16), but haven’t been affected negatively. It’s funny. My high school has a hate speech policy where anything that can be considered offensive or hateful to a group of individuals is an act that can lead to punishments ranging from a dean’s warning to expulsion. Honestly, it’s ridiculous to say that men don’t experience emotional labor. In fact, it could be argued that we experience it more so than women. This being that men are conditioned by society to not show emotions, as they will be ridiculed for doing so. But when a woman shows emotion, she is pandered to by those around her until she is comforted.
