Folks: You have to have each and every child that is going to be videotaped be signed a waiver to video-tape by their parents or guardian. The rules in most districts, as far as I know, also state to not film children under the age of 18 without parental consent. Free speech isn't the issue here. The issue is that there are children's faces associated with the edit. I'm a music teacher, so whenever I "recorded the class", it was audio only and there was nothing in the recording that could identify any one. It was mainly recording tracks of music that they did, or recording orchestra pieces for educational and evaluative purposes.
