Yes and no. You already have the best thing in common, you go to the same university so no matter what it can be a normal interaction. You can always say "I've never seen you around before. Who are you?" or you can do indirect opener. The great thing is even if the conversation falls short then you can go back to commonalities about the school and school life: Where does everyone hang out? What are some great places to eat on/off campus? What events are coming up? All these topics are good. Now …

Agreed! Also, there is a big difference between cities. I live in Daegu and it's all prim and proper and conservative with everyone wearing the same thing. Seoul is a bit different; more liberal and more koreans taking chances socially.

I'm allso in Korea and I agree with a lot of what you said. The main thing is numbers. If the place has a lot of foreigners than the girls are there to meet foreigners (this can be good and bad). Most of the K-girls who try to meet foreigners will basically talk to anyone no matter the looks it seems. That is a double edged sword though. Asian countries (atleast Korea, maybe Japan) dating culture is a bit different from the west. Most girls don't go out to hook-up but just go with friends and ha…

Personally, I'd say that Korea is right now at a very harsh cross-roads in terms of the culture. You have the extremely conservative older generation who impart their ways on the entire country. This happens out of the respect older people get in Korea. But, Korea is such a fast moving country both socially (k-pop) and economically (fastest growing economy of the last 50 years maybe) that the younger generation is becoming more "westernized" in their cultural ways. Personally (my opinion), Japan…

I want to thank you on behalf of those of us sedditors that have been around since even before your mod appointment. Reading some of your field reports and your adventures made me want to begin to develop my own skills and find my own adventures. Right now I'm in South Korea and branching out. If I told you I would be the man I am today about 4 years ago I would say I was being delusional. I've made a complete 180 degree turn in the positive direction because of this subreddit. But not only this…

I've been doing some research on the cultural norms of dating in Korea because I am going to be teaching there in a few months. I've found that kino and openly touching/talking to people you either just met or don't know is very strange and uncomfortable to many Koreans. Even hugging someone is seen as a sexual touch. I remember reading somewhere that your energy should be just above whoever you're talking to, not below and not way above. If you're in Korea, you must calibrate to this and be dif…

Ah, a fellow dark hair/red beard hybrid! We need to stick together. A lot of girls I approach think I've dyed it or something. Always a great talking point.

Your title and what you say in the last paragraph are not the same. If you are standing next to a girl that does not create any rapport. Many girls will stand there while you fumble and look stupid just because they don't know what the hell is going on or don't want to make you look dumb by walking away. Now, if like you say, the girl is standing there looking you in the eye and talking back to you then that is a good sign of rapport. Some silence is fine, but you approach a girl and then stand …

I remember the one with Cajun and he did an interview after he was on the show. He said that all the people in the club were real people with no script. The big thing comes with editing out a lot of failures or just the boring ones and of course the "gurus" aren't watching them live. I think there is a lot one can learn regarding frame and body language and confidence.

Just to note...this is not me, but found it on another forum and thought it was funny. The video reminds me to just go out there, have fun, and never take yourself too seriously. Go out and make someone's day!

I highly recommend the book "The Peaceful Warrior" by Dan Millman that the movie was based off of. The movie turned the book into a Rocky-type movie but the book is ENTIRELY about inner game and getting your life in order and can personally attest to its wisdom and application.

Tofu, have you ever thought about maybe having a weekly podcast or talk that Sedditors can listen in on? With today's technology you can have different people share their thought from their bedroom. I think this would be an interesting path to take in taking the next step for this awesome community.

You still perceive yourself as that fat nerd even though you are far from it by now. People only know what you tell them. You already look the part of an alpha male so now you must act like the alpha male. You have changed your appearance without also focusing on the mental processes that had you stuck there for so long. BREAK FREE!!!

I think OP's case is a little different. When you laid out your feelings to "the woman," she had not built up enough attraction towards you to reciprocate. The OP knew she liked him a lot. Everyone wants to know that the person they like likes them back. He could have told her his feelings and increased attraction exponentially, but this only works when the woman has more attraction to you than you to her. It's essentially the biggest reward ever!

I'm not sure PUA tactics has anything to do with the fact she was not the type to be going out to the club/bar scene which is where they had met in the first place. If you go to try to pick-up women at bars/clubs than you can expect to find the majority of girls like to go out and enjoy the nightlife. If you meet a girl at a sporting event you can expect her to like sports. Go to places that are congruent to your own interests and you have already whittled down prospects to those who you share s…

I'm having a hard time viewing that thread without trying to defend almost every point. From the majority in 2x it is safe to assume that there is a large negative opinion of the PUA community and honestly, I don't blame them. The way that the PUA scene developed was under a very bad premise of just seeking to get laid and use women as another notch on the bedpost, but it has long since evolved. My experience with seddit has been nothing but beneficial to me growing as a sociable person and, I w…

Not much relevance to the community college student? Then it becomes much more like real life or "work." The basic principles for all PUA material will still benefit and the information will be useful no matter where you are. Easy things you could do: build social circle, talk to everyone, observational openers work well on campus/class, change scenery/ask them to join you for lunch, dress well, work out. All these things are still relevant to any student/worker/human. The whole "popular" thing …

|I could (but wouldn't..) start a convo with a girl in my bus, in the library, or a random girl waiting for the train with me, but that would be just downright creepy. Why not? A woman's idea of the perfect "opener" is exactly those types of scenarios (there is a reason why women LOVE romantic comedies). Stop thinking that randomly talking to women in these places is creepy. Women will mirror your attitude/energy so just act like it's not creepy and they will reciprocate. I may even argue that t…

Definitely try and check out the Conquer Your Campus by Mark Redman pdf. A quick summary: His approach is to basically build your social circle and gives some great tips (working out, conversational, approaches). His approach method is much like David Wygant (observational) because college relates almost directly to tribal dynamics. TL;DR: Conquer Your Campus, A++++++ would read again and again, every month, for the rest of my college career.
