Weird that you ignored the other paragraph they wrote before that one
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 08:59 AM

I am 36. I was 8 years old in 1998 I'm not sure OP bothered to do their own math before posting tbh. They seem to have no idea that millenials did grow up/date with the internet, and what makes a good relationship is way more than that anyway
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 09:34 PM

I focused on economic disparity because I think it's the factor that would affect genuine desire the most, since my comment was a response to OP's post. I didn't say the only reason someone would travel to date is money. It's common for passport bros to go to countries where women have a financial incentive to be with them, and if you are dating for genuine desire, that's going to make it hard. isolating one variable to make a broader point This is a debate post and I took a position, so did OP.…

Being attracted to them because they are exotic is fetishizing them. It isn't a good thing if you want a relationship with genuine desire, because as soon as you get comfortable and they stop seeing you as new and different, any attraction based on how exotic you are is gone.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 07:15 AM

Because it's common for passport bros to go to poorer countries where the women have a financial incentive to be with them. Even without that, is thinking you're "exotic" genuine desire? If you want someone who likes you for you, a relationship based on fetishization doesn't sound ideal.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 11:22 PM

That logically does not make sense. If you wanted genuine desire, you would not go to a disadvantaged country where the women have an incentive to marry you.

/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 07:38 PM

I think perception is a pretty big factor in that. I could see one of my traits as a strength and someone else could see it as average or nonexistent

Marriage is a big commitment and ties you to someone legally and financially. Living with them beforehand allows you to see if you are truly compatible with them when they're not on their best behavior before you make a potentially life-altering decision. If you move in together and they're not the person you thought they were, you can just break up instead of going through the whole divorce process. I do think you can marry someone and be happy without having lived with them beforehand, but it …

The internet is good for being aware of different viewpoints, but not for forming your own. Too many bots, bad-faith users, view farmers (both content creators and news outlets), and just straight up liars. I'll take my real life anecdotal evidence over a reddit post any day.

There is no one size fits all punishment. Some cases will naturally have caused more harm than others, and some cases will have more evidence than others. Innocent until proven guilty is all that's standing between you and life in jail for a crime you didn't commit

Well when we're discussing what should be the legal punishment for the legal definition of fraud by the legal system, the legal definition is the only one that matters.

I treat my partner differently compared to others. I treat men and women in my life differently in social settings depending on context and closeness. If you think you don't get passes for certain things because you're a man the exact same way women do, you are dead wrong

I don't think they care, and as long as the woman is consciously choosing that dynamic without being forced then I don't care either. Also why mention a study and offer to link it but not actually link it...?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 12:29 AM

Well, my view is based on my experiences too, so who am I to say they're wrong. But even if they're right, with so many people in the world, there have to be plenty of exceptions. I don't see the point in believing the worst in people when they could prove you wrong at any moment. It's exhausting.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 12:17 AM

I'm not saying this isn't your experience or that an attractive person wouldn't get more matches on a dating app. I think that blackpill views where nothing else matters and everything you do is pointless if you aren't attractive aren't a good way to deal with it, because 1) in reality there are other factors in dating and 2) it places your value as a human on how attractive you are.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 12:09 AM

Reality is often depressing, but blackpill to me seems to not care for improvement or acknowledge that the world can also be good sometimes.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 12:03 AM

Because it's an unhealthy mindset and it makes society worse. Generally, I consider people who subscribe to those views to be mentally unwell (not an insult) because they're overwhelmingly negative compared to reality and they hurt whoever holds them.

I want to start off by clarifying that I criticize men for their approach to dating, not their success. Anyway, I think I'd be like my bf if I was a man, since he's the guy who is most similar to me. He treats women well and is successful in dating when he wants to be (he dates for compatibility and doesn't waste his time). I have good male role models and the men in my family are generally successful. Would I be happier as a man? Probably be the same as I am now, just lonelier due to less emoti…

Well, I hope to, but I can't really control that. If something positive comes from what I said, it's because someone else chose to grow/change and I just happened to be in the right place at the right time. It was gonna happen with or without me. /r/PurplePillDebate29/06/26 01:41 AM

Speaking of graveyard shifts, night work is really hard on your body in general. When you're exhausted, sometimes you physically can't have sex even if you want to. The way some people talk about this online makes me wonder how they function when they don't have time for sex. Because eventually something will disrupt your life, and if your relationship can't handle a single month without sex, what the fuck is the point of being together?

I wasn't arguing. I just posted the actual source because I don't think tweets are trustworthy. Even in your latest example, as individuals, men spend more time on work/work related activities Yes, and women spend more time on housework/care. The difference between men and women on time spent working vs time spent doing housework/care ends up pretty much equaling out.

What's a food you don't like? There are 8 billion people on earth. I'm sure we can sit you down with someone new every meal so you can have that food for the rest of your life. After all, those previous meals were with a different person, so you don't really know if you dislike it.

I'd consider inexperience a yellow flag. Most people need romantic relationships to learn certain lessons imo, but I do think it's possible to learn those lessons outside of them if you are introspective, aware of viewpoints other than your own, and you have close non-romantic relationships in your life (ideally both men and women). Inexperience can also affect your confidence/self-esteem. You don't have to be fearless but you shouldn't let yourself be embarrassed about what you want, you know? …

Every single behavior you described is also something women do. Yes, some men cheat or are criminals. Some women are like that too. But to use the worst people as an example of the entire gender just doesn't make sense when you think about how many people you're lumping together. Put 4 billion people in a room together and they're bound to disagree on something.

So? The whole thing about humans is that we have a conscience and advanced reasoning. The worst humans are the ones who act as slaves to whatever biological urges or emotions they happen to have. Most people are better than that, which is why we've come so far as a species.

I'm tired of being asked to prove that I have empathy/sympathy for others. What I do doesn't matter because there will always be a different woman whose actions validate your worldview. Of course some women are mean, we make up 50% of humanity. Look for empathy/sympathy being shown in the world around you (not just from one person) and you'll see it if you really want to. If not, I wasn't changing your mind anyway.

In a modern society where people can choose when they want to have kids, it's because of culture and gender roles. Take away societal expectations and judgement for breaking them, and you'll have women pursuing men the same way men pursue women. You can see this in the way women and men are relaxing about assuming each other's "traditional" roles. There are lots of ways we as a society ignore biology to make life more convenient. Glasses, for example. I don't see why this is the one thing we'd g…

What defines success? If it's just getting a partner in any way, I think they'd be the same or better. If it's getting a compatible long-term partner, I think they would be worse or potentially the same, depending on the man. It's a hard question because on one hand, men have seen other men behave in ways women haven't, so they recognize some problem behaviors more easily. On the other hand, men do not see these behaviors in a romantic context like women do. I also think one major thing a straig…

Yeah, with the people I'm around I don't doubt I could've found someone who wanted me to stay at home or something, but I wouldn't be happy with that life. You're talking to one person right now, not all the women you've ever met. I don't know where in this conversation you got the idea that I'm opposing myself. To be honest, your question is confusing. If you're asking whether a male rape victim should pay child support, my answer is no

So why did you post about how the statement "drunk women can't consent" infantilizes women instead of just posting that we don't take male victims seriously enough? You'd have been right, but instead you're here taking the position that drunk women actually can consent, so it isn't assault.

The career driven and successful women I know don't want a financial provider and are fine with contributing to a relationship as long as they're not being taken advantage of. And while there are always exceptions, I think it's hard to get to that point as a woman while still expecting others to provide for you, since your career will demand that you provide for yourself.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/26 03:21 AM

If you agree with this, then why tf are you trying to minimize women's issues instead of actually talking about men's issues? Disclaimer: I have NEVER heard the "drinking = no consent" argument used only for women.

Okay, but it being a choice doesn't mean they're overstating the work they do. And I don't think it's automatically bad to complain about something that was a result of your actions. Idk if that's a fair statement to make. How much you clean varies greatly based on your living situation. Yes, exactly. And in a healthy relationship, both parties will communicate their standards and come to an agreement on how they'll be handled so that both will be happy and the workload is fair. Well don't backtrack now. You said they're half-practicing, that they have long-term boyfriends because that's who they're actually attracted to, and now you're saying they're under pressure to claim identities. Straight people can be open about attraction to one gender, but when a bi person talks about their sexuality, it's for social points? You've said bi women are lying in just about every way you can except "bi women are lying".
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 05:56 PM

I don't think you can speak on what lesbians/bi women consider game. You can think they have no game, but they clearly do if they're getting together easily. They don't have to act like men or care how men define "game" to date each other. Ever think that women don't have to fake laugh at other women's jokes?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 05:46 PM

A bi girl with a long term bf is still bi. It's in the definition. So tired of this take that bi people aren't happy with their partners or are lying about their sexuality because they're in a LTR. You don't need to be actively fucking anyone to be attracted to them. Straight people aren't attracted to just one person in their life, yet somehow it's possible for them to be monogamous and not bi people.

There are lots of freedoms you have while being single vs in a relationship. Like, if my bf wants to go on a trip with his friends, I expect him to run it by me first before he buys tickets and takes time off work. If I want to make a major purchase, especially if it's a for the house we both live in, he expects me to run it by him first. I understand other people have different experiences, but I've seen a ton of feminists acknowledge that men should have access to these resources too as they're just another result of societal gender roles (that feminists already tend to be against). Since male-specific shelters etc are already progressive, I think it'd be easier if y'all just worked with the other progressives

People are louder when they disagree. Many RP dudes on this sub come off as mature and seemingly live normal, happy lives. They talk when there's a post here that specifically applies to them. But a lot of times, the crazier, less mature guys won't listen to their experience, and there's only so much you can do before it gets exhausting trying to convince someone to chill the fuck out.

Not who you responded to, but I'll give that there's propoganda against men in the west, just as much as there is against women. Of course there are people manipulating conversations for social/political gain.

You think a country being poor is related to the women treating the men with respect? To me this implies that this social dynamic is something the people do out of necessity to survive, or that they are more focused on survival than they are personal happiness and fulfillment, and I wouldn't consider those to be good things.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/26 06:10 PM

Well, even with mental and personality disorders, I hope you come to find happiness. This might sound bad but even when I was at my lowest I thought there's gotta be someone out there for me, because how tf do serial killer couples find each other? If those crazy people can be happy then so can I. My dad always says "there's a pot for every lid". Not my kind of alt. Your mom is wrong. You can either sit there and waste your life away wishing you were born differently, or you can do something about it. I can only speak for myself, but I'm attracted to men who show that they have personality and passion for things. Something to make me want to know them more. There are plenty of beautiful people in the world but not all of them are interesting.

I think they mean find a niche. If you lean into what makes you unique you're going to risk turning away some women, but you'll gain the attention of others. I'm alt and of course there are guys who don't like it, but there are others who might not have been interested if I wasn't.

/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/26 11:05 PM

There were free black people in the US during the slave trade. Slavery was abolished in 1865 but that doesn't mean they couldn't be free beforehand. There were actually entire water fountains and schools just for black people! Now do you get it? 😐
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/26 11:01 PM

Yes, especially any acquired during marriage. Marriage ties you to someone financially. Asset value changes over time and your spouse is part of that. I own property, and when I get married, my spouse will also own that property. It's going to (ideally) go up in value over time. If we got divorced, he'd get his rightful share. If you don't want to do that, honestly just don't get married. A couple decides that since childcare is expensive, it's the best choice for the woman to be a SAHM so the m…
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/26 10:57 PM

Marrying doesn't necessarily give you security. People are the same before and after they get a ring on their finger. What it does do is give you more legal power as a couple, tax benefits, and legitimacy in the eyes of society (which sucks but still affects yours and any childrens' lives). The security it would mainly give is if one person had a much higher earning potential than the other, like a SAHP situation. Marriage helps protect the SAHP from being dirt poor with zero assets if the relat…
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/26 06:37 PM

No, it doesn't mean that. There have always been and will always be loving couples who value each other for more than that. What it means is that women aren't legally forced to rely on men for jobs, money, bank accounts, owning property, all that. So we can choose who we want to be around as opposed to not having the ability to leave or refuse someone we don't like. For example: I'm a solo homeowner and have a career, retirement fund, and bank accounts. I can vote to represent my own interests, …

My mom is a very caring person who experienced hardships and learned lessons early on, but came out of it stronger. My dad's story is similar. I had to learn some of the same lessons but was able to learn them younger because of their support, and I'm thankful for that. I looked to their relationship to set my own standards more than I realized. So I guess you could say my life is similar to theirs.

That’s reserved for when you’re actually months to yrs deep in a relationship. If you find yourself doing any of that with a woman you just met, she’s just not into you. Okay, that explains a lot. Yeah homicide is definitely a lot rarer, but it's not the only threat so we worry about more than that. Just like as a man you'd be worried about getting mugged or general harrassment from people not in their right mind as well as homicide.

Too tired to find a legit source right now so take this with a grain of salt, but I believe men's sperm quality/health does degrade with age and it's connected to health issues in kids, so men do have a "biological clock". Women generally only talk about abusive/shitty behaviors from men because the majority of women are straight and primarily experience it from men. I could say the same about men gendering behaviors that both women and men do... gold digging, for example. I'm pretty sure everyone in possession of a brain knows those behaviors aren't tied to gender. If they're stupid enough to think otherwise, you can't do anything about that.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 06:42 PM

I'm agreeing with you. Apologies if I didn't come across clearly What I meant was it's not useful to try to get revenge for things you (general you) didn't even experience, it's just going to make your life worse

The way men talk about their standards can sometimes be extremely offensive. Yes I'm gonna have a problem if you say you'd never date a fatty/slut/insert derogatory term here. Learn how to talk without actively insulting people around you (all about framing) or just don't mention it. You don't have to share your standards all you have to do is live by them.

I'd assume the other definition is going after a woman who doesn't want you (or is acting like she doesn't). So you could call it flirting, sure, but she's not reciprocating. There's no tension because she's just rejecting you.

Thanks for answering. Haven't you ever tried a food you don't like, though? I've tried new foods I ended up hating and I wouldn't eat them again, even around new people that I like, because I already know I don't like it. I think that's pretty reasonable, and it doesn't mean my new friends aren't fun. The situation I was asking about was a woman trying something once and not liking it, not doing it multiple times. Example: Once upon a time, I thought I wanted to be slapped. Tried it, hated it, they never did it again, I've never wanted it again. If I don't let my boyfriend slap me during sex, does that mean I'm not attracted to him? You say this is not the reason this situation comes up, but it's pretty common for people to try things during sex and not like them.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 04:41 AM

As I said, some people just consider it to be flirting and building tension
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 04:33 AM

Imo I think it's okay to say it once just to inform them that yes this is still a dealbreaker and you intend to follow through. If you're telling them because you want to change their mind, or you keep saying you'll leave but never actually do it, then that's controlling to me. There's probably a reason I'm not a psychologist, though. ...in a relationship with good communication I don't think restating your boundaries would be necessary, but hey.

There's no way to know who someone is at their core until you get very close to them. It's easy to pretend to be someone you're not to gain someone's trust and drop the act when you're comfortable. The responsibility to keep bad men isolated isn't on women or men, really. How can you expect women to know if someone is truly a bad person at a glance? At the same time, how can you expect men to know which of their friends are horrible partners if they're not emotionally close? All we can do is act…
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 07:19 PM

Strawman. OP is talking about pressuring someone into a specific sexual act they're not comfortable with, and you're describing a situation where someone is telling their partner they're not going to do multiple vague things that are considered normal in relationships, without the partner pressuring them to. Why do you think sexual coercion is the same thing as wanting to go on a date?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 06:43 PM

So if she tried it in the past and didn't like it, you think she should still do it with you? Even though she doesn't like it?

Having safety to speak your mind find freely is something you should be grateful for because many men in other countries wont let you, so be grateful for western men who uphold this society This implies that women should be subserviant to men in a free society, and that there is a constant threat of the "good" men turning into the "bad" men. Is that what you're saying?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 08:58 PM

Well, free speech is a right that we uphold as a society, and society is composed of both women and men. So... yes, but not in the way that you mean it.

That effort involves another person…

Jackhammering implies no foreplay. Rough sex isn't necessarily uncomfortable but a partner that doesn't care about your pleasure is. If his sexual health is fine and he genuinely wanted a long-term relationship then I wouldn't care. For me it's more about a person's values and if our goals align. /r/PurplePillDebate17/05/26 07:12 PM

theres more male to female transgenders than female to male transgenders Not true. https://williamsinstitute.law.ucla.edu/publications/trans-adults-united-states/ Of the 2.1 million adults who identify as transgender, 32.7% (698,500) are transgender women, 34.2% (730,500) are transgender men Now where is your source for the "detransitioning" statement?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/26 10:14 PM

men generally find every woman who isn’t ugly pleasing to some extent, that is a large majority of women I have to disagree with this part. Out of everyone in the world? I don't think that's a large majority at all. Great comment though, I like seeing nuance in this sub.

/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/26 09:48 PM

Well, sometimes you (general you) are a victim. Crimes are committed every day. Some of the societal expectations for men cause harm. Those people are victims. Doesn't mean they chose to be or that they can't be stronger than they were before. Recognizing that you were hurt is the starting point for getting better, but ignoring it can result in people not getting the help they need.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/26 06:45 PM

I don't think anyone has it easy in modern society. The biggest differences in quality of life are from wealth, so as long as you're comparing members of the same class, you'll see that we experience similar hardships. (I bet those mental health numbers would equal out if men weren't pressured to be strong and stoic all the time.) We fight over who has it worse while the ultra rich plot to steal our land's resources and keep us reliant on them.

My position against the concept of female hypergamy is that from what I've seen, women are just looking for partners that, as a whole, are about equal to them. If you are planning on doing all the domestic labor and want a man who will provide for you financially, that's not hypergamy, that is an exchange. The redpill argument of "marrying up" seems to focus entirely on money/status/looks, but that's not everything to consider in a potential partner. It's a narrow view of the world, and it's bas…

Yeah I see what you're saying. In my experience (a) doesn't factor in. For (b), the hurt of disloyalty definitely overrides any admiration. The only way I'd see (b) being relevant is that it generally makes people more angry if the one they cheated with was less attractive than you, but I don't think men are any different in that situation.

Lots of things I could say on this topic, but just remember that there are groups actively promoting social conflict using botted accounts, botted comments, and botted upvotes. It happens more frequently than you think, probably on this sub too. Best way to combat this is having open converstions with people in real life who have different views. I see what you're saying with the hating the system/group, but I think that's a slippery slope because probably 99.9% of people (including me) aren't able to emotionally separate systematic hate vs hating individuals when the system is made up of people that you see every day. An incel (a stranger you don't know) would have to do something very drastic like shoot up a public place or kidnap to harm you, but an intimate partner can choose to act when you are vulnerable. They are closer to you, they have a greater capability for harm. It's that simple. Now look up sampling bias. You have no proof that incels are safer than the partners women are choosin…

Who cares what women think when it concerns your mental health? If someone doesn't like that you aren't an unfeeling rock, they suck anyway. A guy who’s got emotional troubles will usually get “man up you pansy” whereas a woman will get “oh you poor darl” A woman gets this response from who? Because when I have emotional troubles, this kind of support almost always comes from other women. The men I've gotten sympathy from are also the type to give sympathy to other men, so they aren't who you're talking about. Lots of self-improvement advice (for women and men) is like that because it's meant to guide you into enjoying those things for yourself. If it was "stop focusing on women and work out" those guys would write it off, but since you gave them a "valid" reason, they're going to get into the gym and find out that they actually enjoy lifting. Then they'll actually be more likely to get a girlfriend because they'll have a more fulfilling life with hobbies, and they'll be healthier.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/26 12:38 PM

they get the worst motive assigned to them even when they say it normally. a guy can say “I prefer someone with a similar sexual history to mine” or “I don’t think I’m compatible with someone who views sex casually” and people will still jump to insecurity, control, misogyny, small dick energy, whatever I've mentioned here that I broke up with a man who was mistreating me and men jumped to defend him. The experience gap and probable finance gap (whatever it's called) is where the harm could come from. A relationship where someone has so much more pull compared to the other person is much riskier and often pressures the other person to do things like say yes to things they don't want to do. I think it'd be a hard idea to get support for since it could easily be miscontrued, but I think it's the next step after abortion. In my ideal world, both men and women would have a choice. I do have a question though. Does selective service not bother you more than this? Just the idea of it is grating to me, so I think it'd be my priority if I was a man. No hate if you feel differently.

What you're saying about men not having any rights doesn't make sense. We were talking about rights in a legal sense, which men had and women didn't. If we're talking about preventable diseases, women were (are) in the same boat. I don't really know anything about matriarchies, so I can't speak on that.

Not who you replied to, but I think the lessons fathers teach could hypothetically be taught by women, unless the kid is going to grow up and leave to go be around men. In a society of only women, some women are naturally going to fall into more masculine roles, and as long as the kid has a variety of different perspectives I think they could turn out alright. (Dunno how you'd handle raising a male child though... exile them I guess.) I've thought about this with same sex couples a lot. Multiple…

The patriarchy ended up giving women equal rights Let's not act like this was a gift, though. It is because women were subjected in the first place that we didn't have rights; we did not have the power to give them to ourselves. Righting a wrong is always good, but it isn't something I'd list as an accomplishment.

Hypothetically if I was a male who didn't want a vasectomy and didn't want to abstain from sex, I would secure my finances before nutting in a woman

If i make something in my stomach, can I ask money from you essentially? Yes, because of this: you can still make someone pregnant despite taking the best measures You guys can use 13 different methods of birth control and she can still get pregnant, that's why you should be required to pay money. Until we have full abortion rights in every state men are 100% on the hook just like we are

"Provocative" means something different to everyone, so clothing can be intended to come across as neutral to attractive to others. There's no way to know unless you're the one wearing the clothing. PUA is always intended to get a sexual/romantic partner. Makeup can be done for personal expression or outside attention, while PUA is always done for outside attention. I think same-gender social situations are harder because we tend to "test" each other, so I don't think men or women can say who's more skilled with any sort of accuracy. I was like 23 when I realized men genuinely try to crush each other's hands in handshakes because every time they shook my hand they were nice and gentle lol
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/26 06:41 AM

Not trying to have a gotcha moment, but I don't think you're looking at this objectively. In my experience, navigating social situations with women requires more thought/finesse than with men. Women are also, generally, a little more social. I can speak very bluntly to men because they're more likely to take what I say literally, and I think that's cool. But men are also less likely to say something when they're upset, or tell you when you misstep. That doesn't necessarily mean women on average …

Unpopular opinion but let's just stop talking about men and women as if they're monoliths, at the very least while we're on the internet (where what we say can be viewed by anyone) or around people that might misunderstand us. If you don't actually mean all men/women then pleeease give me a "some," "most," or even "a significant amount." I can't stand generalizations it would make so happy.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/04/26 07:47 PM

Generally agree. There is a basic amount of trust society needs to function. If you walk around thinking everyone is about to pull a knife on you, you're a danger to others. Most of us probably drive every day, and by doing that we're trusting our lives to other people just because they also want to get through the day safely. You should of course be aware of your surroundings, but being jumpy is not a good thing.

Or maybe those people aren't representing their own arguments correctly. Some of those high trust societies can be downright hostile tbh. Personally I think having diversity is good because it prompts people to learn and grow in ways I value, but with that can come conflict, so I see why some might prefer a homogenous society.

First of all, gerontophilia is not gender specific. Second, like all other mental conditions, I'd assume this term would only be used to describe people whose attraction is abnormal and having a negative effect on their life. Being attracted to old people isn't illegal, and it is normal for couples to be attracted to each other as they age. (Also, are we even sure this is mentioned in the DSM? /r/PurplePillDebate27/03/26 08:12 PM

Well people can be born with both sets of genitals, without them, or with nonfunctioning genitals. There's more to gender than all that. If you think about it, you have no idea what genitals the people you see every day have. All you know is just how they present to everyone else. If someone looks and acts like a woman, you just see them as a woman; their genitals aren't a consideration. It's honestly pretty easy when you think of it that way.

Would I date a trans guy? Sure why not. Would I date a guy who has dated a trans woman? I don't see a reason to care about that unless he ONLY dated trans women until me, then I'd find it a little weird. For context, I like women so female genitals wouldn't bother me (if applicable). I've also dated a bi dude before so no matter how masculine or feminine their previous partners were, it's not something that concerns me outside of if they were safe.

What a username 😭 lmao I would like to clarify, I meant that in this case people have higher expectations for a man's career since he's "supposed" to provide. So this hypothetical woman who has an issue with her partner earning less would have even higher standards for a guy because she's exceeding expectations, so why isn't he? But his career/salary expectations were already higher to begin with because of the whole provider thing. Maybe you're coming at it from a different angle or I'm misunde…

That is true. Aside from that just being a shitty thing to do, though, I think that's a consequence of gender roles. Like "I went above and beyond people's expectations of me for my career, why haven't you?" when that's not a fair comparison because men are already expected to earn enough to "provide" for their families (even when it doesn't make sense).

That's not even what you were talking about in the comment I responded to. You said you rarely hear things like "boys will be boys" in comparison to people complaining about it. I gave an example of people excusing gross behavior because it's locker room talk, it's a guy thing. If anything, you telling me that women had no problem with it supports the point that it's common for people to excuse behavior because men are just like that sometimes.

I think assuming everyone's going to hurt you before you have any reason to is a bit paranoid. You don't know what's going on inside someone's head or what the future will be. All you control is your response to their actions.

Of course you should try to avoid making other people uncomfortable, but at a certain point you can't be responsible for everyone's feelings. The way you see situations is influenced by your past experiences. Your approach could be totally okay but still make someone uncomfortable because the reason they're uncomfortable isn't related to you. Yes. Idk how other people see it, but for me this is actually a big part of trust in a relationship. I know my bf would happily go through life single rather than with someone who isn't good for him, and that means 1) he's with me because he genuinely wants to be, and 2) if he's unhappy he'll speak up. I don't have to second-guess anything he says or does because he cares about his own happiness and wouldn't waste time lying just to keep me around.

I think one reason people might consider men more violent than women could be because of war. Like, we have plenty of evidence of men being violent throughout history but forget that they were pretty much just commoners forced to kill and die because someone in power felt like it.

Agree. The reaction so much of society has to men when they come forward about abuse/assault is disgusting. It also seems like most people are really only violent when they're in a position of power, and you have more power over a partner vs someone you don't know. I think women are less likely to feel like they can be violent without consequences because women on average aren't as strong as men. Maybe, but that still matters. If I was raped I would not want to be forced to have the rapist's child. Women can't always choose whether they have children or not, and a lot of people can't go to another state to get an abortion. It's not as easy as some make it sound. Men have the draft, women have abortion. We're all getting fucked. So selective service to allow men to vote is really just an antiquated tradition that the government won't let go of, because why would they? No, they shouldn't. But men who want to forfeit parental rights should do so before the window for abortion closes so they can't leave the woman high and dry after telling her they're going to take responsibility. And if women can't get abortions men should not be able to choose.

Female reproduction? Takes two to make a baby. Ever been somewhere that has free condoms, because I have. Really though, men should have a lot more options for birth control than there are currently. No way you just created two COMPLETELY DIFFERENT scenarios where the people lied about different things just to rationalize that women lying is worse. Of course it's apples and oranges when you intentionally make one worse than the other. Here, let me fix it for you. If a man lies to sleep with a woman, the damage is immediate and the relationship won't last long. It won't take a girl long to find out the man isn't a millionaire like he claimed (for example). If a woman lies to sleep with a man,…

ND people have a hard time socially =/= ND people have harmful views or tend toward the redpill/manosphere.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/26 05:19 AM

I agree with what you said about ND people finding it hard to connect, but the original reply was insulting redpillers by associating them with a negative trait and you added autism on to that. Just because some incels are autistic doesn't mean autistic people tend toward those views, and it's harmful for NT people to associate autism with incels/the manosphere. Plenty of bluepill, redpill, and happily married autistic people in the world.

You really can't determine all of it from a first or second date. The way I learned my guy met these standards was I found someone who I thought was promising + met the most basic obvious ones, then over time I watched how he reacted to situations that came up naturally and if his behavior 1) matched up with his words and 2) was what I wanted in a partner. So I just verified the major things (no cats, kids, etc) and then let him show me the rest. You have to know the desired/undesired behaviors …
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/26 08:50 AM

If something's a dealbreaker, contradicts your values, or doesn't match up with your life/career goals you shouldn't compromise, but if you don't feel strongly about whatever it is then who cares. There are different levels. Like, Rihanna is beautiful. Most people just don't care that she's got a big forehead. But if my partner's forehead size was something I felt very strongly about, compromising on that would just lead to both people being unhappy.

And about the "can't get women their own age," this is another generalization that's only meant to show that 30+ women are less prone to manipulation since their experience helps them recognize the signs and shut down toxic dynamics. A better way to rephrase this could be "older men who want a malleable women will have a hard time finding someone their age since those women know better." Yeah I've done it, it doesn't work. Idk why anyone but the naive person in the relationship would think this is even an option

Some gay people (and even straight people) adhere to gender norms, but plenty don't and are making it work just fine. It's surprisingly easy. Someone initiates or maybe you fall together somehow and just both do whatever feels right. Express yourself however you want. Good communication, especially about your expectations for a relationship, is what's going to make it go smoothly.

they went to a club and all the guys stare instead of approaching Genuinely this has to be because we're too fucked from social media to know how to interact with each other, right? If you want men to approach you, try being approachable. You see a guy staring at you and you want him to talk to you, idk, smile at him??? Step away from talking to your friends for a couple seconds to adjust your clothes or get a drink or something so he can talk to you without a live audience?? I feel like I'm tak…

You can get emotional connection from other non-sexual relationships in your life, and temporary relief by jerking off. Sex is good but it is not a need the same way food, water, air, and social connection is.

Where did I say fantasy romance.

Yeah and all the fantasy books and stories have taught men that they will get princesses and women with rich/high status families falling in love with them instantly as rewards for doing good. But those are fantasy stories for a reason, aren't they?

Well let's say this particular woman is consistent in that sense. How do you know she has a strong desire for you or not without her having sex with you? Do you think it's possible?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/26 11:12 PM
17

In your opinion, what does a strong desire for you look like early into the relationship? Specifically in the context of what OP mentioned (women don't want hookups as much as men do, higher risk, etc). I'm asking because of course it's good to not want someone that will use you for resources, but how do you guys tell someone who genuinely doesn't desire you apart from someone who does desire you but is more reserved? Because from the outside, it seems like a lot of advice is like oh if she does…

I knew what your point was. I am trying to say that if you want a long-term relationship, human evolution does not matter as much as you think it does. You have to think about life beyond just having sex with someone because there is a lot more to a relationship than sex. There is more to life than sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/26 10:00 PM
1

This is going to look different for every woman. And beyond that, what do you do when the infatuation is gone? Drop them and go on to the next person because they aren't having sex with you 24/7? This isn't how you build a long-lasting relationship
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/26 09:55 PM

Life is enough of a test. As long as you have what it takes to leave when you see an incompatibility, you don't need to do anything but watch how someone reacts to situations that naturally come up. You will never realistically be able to test someone enough.

Confidence comes from success What does your ideal relationship look like? What role would you play in that relationship? Would you be able to fulfill that role? Yes? There's your confidence. The dating preferences of men and women can only be understood in the context of sexual selection and evolution. Eh, agree to disagree on this one
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/26 10:36 PM

Yeah I get that, in this case I'm talking about the times we communicate and I'm intentionally being a roadblock. Men do get agressive sometimes when you say no and this is to avoid that. It's just a thing we all do

Also from a woman's perspective sometimes we do this on purpose because we talked and she told me she doesn't want your attention. Obviously this isn't always the case, but if you're being pushy or overly sexual of course I'm cockblocking you so you don't get aggressive with her when she says no. You don't have to act like women or have a huge ego. Just be confident that you would be a good partner and scrutinize partners accordingly. That doesn't mean making them jump through hoops, it means asking questions, being assertive, wondering if they're the right fit for you/your life instead of you being the right fit for them. Something I think would be healthy for everyone really. Men compete with other men for access to sex and women want to get fucked by the hottest, fittest men The world…

That depends on what you want. Some men are so easy that they won't ever put full effort into a relationship because they just took the first thing they could get. They're content to go through life not really caring about much, including you.

You don't have to have casual sex if you want sex. You can just have sex in a relationship lol

A comment I made 4 days ago: As for the other stuff, I'm not against women initiating (I have cold approached before), but I prefer for the man to make the first move because I feel like it helps weed out men who don't put effort into relationships. But the guy needs to know that I want to be with him too, so I can't let him make every major decision by himself.

Thanks, that explains it. I expected the real numbers to be about even, but given that women initiate divorce more often than men, this doesn't surprise me. Thanks for sharing that the study was retracted. Mistakes happen, and I'm glad they did the responsible thing. The article about it is over a year old, though. Did you look for any more information? Empathy is feeling whatever emotions a person is feeling along with them. They don't even have to be on the same level. If someone's close relative died and I haven't experienced that, but I have lost a pet before, I can still empathize - I've felt loss and grief, this person must be feeling that but so much worse right now. It's just a way to show you care, and when you know someone else is feeling the same, it can alleviate some of the pain. Having empathy does not mean you need to solve their…

Why is love something to be earned as a man through your actions but something you simply deserve as a woman? This is not the dynamic I believe in, but I would think that when someone is chasing you, the assumption is that you're desirable enough in some way that you've already met these requirements. So my main problem here is that even only having sex in committed relationships will still mean you're subject to those same harsh judgements that someone who has had casual sex is subject to, just because you aren't a virgin. It's very regressive and starts to sound like the goal is for women to marry the first person they date, no matter how compatible they are. And that's beside the fact that men aren't judged the same for having casual sex. You can easily apply the same logic to men if you w…

If someone wants to do that, they will whether you're giving your number to them or asking them for theirs tbh. From a woman's pov the cops will laugh you out of the station if you tried to report something like that. Even actual sexual assault reports won't go anywhere without evidence, and there are people who won't believe it or care even when action is taken. But I do understand the general fear of mob mentality.

Why is being mean to people wrong? We have collectively decided that doing unneccesary harm to other people is bad. Shaming someone for having sex, something that literally almost everyone does, is unneccesary harm, and as a bonus the people who do it usually don't have the same view toward men having sex.

I agree. There are a lot of situations where harmless socially awkward or autistic people don't know how to follow the script the exact right way, and it sucks to know that it can come off as creepy even when you haven't done anything wrong. I hope that's not the conclusion everyone comes to when they try to find an explanation for the feeling of something being off.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/25 11:32 PM

I think it would be important at this point to make a distinction between misandry in the systemic sense vs misandry in the way most people would define it. I don't think it's like this If I’m not attracted in the first second I meet you, I’ll never be attracted no matter what for everyone (for me it's not), but 100% agree with being able to get away with so much shit when you're hot. I agree with your conclusion but I don't think I agree with how you got there. Even in relationships, you're going to face rejection. Nobody wants to have sex literally all the time, nobody wants to do everything you want to do when you want to do it, nobody agrees with all your opinions. That doesn't mean you're being judged. You should be able to handle those situations like an adult.

For me, having access to FWB/ONS makes no difference. I only want to sleep with someone I have feelings for in the context of a relationship. I want the emotional intimacy and trust. Hookups just aren't an option. So you make peace with the fact that being single means you're choosing to only be with people who are good for you and want the same things. It's like if I said "why do men care about hookups when they could just pay a prostitute?" Well, there's a difference between sex with a sex wor…

That's a good point. People who practice BDSM in the bedroom don't always want that dynamic 24/7, though. I think there are a looot more people in the first group, especially when you take into account the people who do dom/sub stuff without realizing it. And at this point you're kind of getting into larger societal issues and nature vs nurture, like the question of how much of what you just mentioned is due to lingering sexism instead of women's preferences? I would not be surprised. But I'd worry if he found it emasculating? To me that signals some insecurities, and while everyone's insecure about something, having a disconnect between what you want and who you think you should be can really hurt you/your loved ones.

It's to avoid generalizing. I prefer "a lot" over "most" or "all" because I think those statements are pretty much always untrue, while "some" implies that the population who do this is few enough that it's not important. You also can't use percentages for opinions because then you're getting into pseudo-science bullshit. "A significant amount" is also a good one.

You said him wanting a partner that makes about as much as him is feminine and doesn't affect the relationship, but you also have a problem with wasting resources and not being a partner that contributes much. I assume you mostly mean financially. Wouldn't wanting a partner who makes around the same amount as you be the answer?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/25 07:49 PM

Well, there are more factors that can affect libido. I'm not going to say this is a solution for everyone in every situation, but it's also wrong to say it's just a ruse to exploit men. If your sex life is lacking and your girl is always stressed about something, taking care of that something could absolutely let her chill out enough to want sex.

I'm neutral on this since I feel like there's no unbiased answer (and no answer that doesn't pit people in the same community against each other), but I would like to point out that men are more likely to be diagnosed and to receive accomodations/"treatments" for autism, which includes getting help with social skills. No. Your issue was that if you asked directly if she wanted sex when she wasn't giving good body language, she would get upset, right? That's a potential solution. I think that the average man is either 1) doing well enough romantically that they aren't too concerned about getting women, or 2) doing well enough mentally that they're fine not having a partner. Most of the single guys I know are single because they've set standards for themselves and are waiting for the right person to come along. I don't think validating it means you're saying it's correct. My view on this is that you can't change the way you feel, but you can understand your feelings and address why you feel that way. Emotions really aren't right or wrong by themselves, what you choose to do as a result of feeling them/how you communicate those emotions is where you can go wrong. I wonder how much of this is due to women not being as physically strong on average. /r/PurplePillDebate17/12/25 08:08 PM

I agree with your title, but I don't think it's a double standard when women give men advice that works. If anything, the double standard is from society as a whole. Not sure taking your frustration out on women trying to help is a good thing. As long there are desperate men, women will find partners more easily. Will those be quality partners? Maybe not, but that's a different conversation.

The reason why we see this more than you is because we date men and see a different side of them than you do.

Tell a man “get milk,” he’ll get milk. However if you come back with the wrong brand or a different percentage they will get unstable. Did she say the brand and type multiple times and he actively ignores her, showing he doesn't value her? Also, as a grown ass man, you know we need milk. You can see it as well as I can. If I have to take time out of my day to tell you to get milk like you're a child who can't function on their own, I might as well just do it myself and drop the dead weight.

The point I'm trying to make is that in your relationship you and your partner might agree it's disrespectful, but in someone else's relationship they wouldn't care. There is no yes or no.

I've also been taught to critically examine my preferences. I wouldn't blame bad parenting/immaturity on an entire gender, but if it makes you feel better, I see criticism of women both online and in person from all kinds of people for choosing guys based solely on things like height. Even if you think there's a gender-wide problem, it doesn't make sense to me to assume that there are no exceptions.

I used the birth control shot for two years and they had to take me off of it because it was apparently discovered that being on it for longer than two years had the side effect of bone density loss. Of course, the shot is hormonal and this is not, but this shot was available for more than two years before they figured that out. I don't know if I would choose to be the test subject for something like this.

/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/25 03:29 PM

So preferences are political, then.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/11/25 01:36 PM

It depends on the type of socially inept and how pretty you are. The prettier you are, the more of your weird behavior people will overlook/see as cute or quirky instead, but there are still lines you can't cross. People accept me more when I'm dressed nice and have makeup on. It's a double-edged sword.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/11/25 01:12 PM

I don't think all preferences are okay on a personal level, but I think there's a way to have preferences without forcing them onto other people. People are going to want what they want, might as well encourage them to be normal about it.

if you're having sex with your same aged peers, why would it be traumatizing to have an age gap relationship? Like how is the sex that different between someone of the same age vs someone with an age gap Because they have enough life experience to manipulate you, the younger and less experienced party, much more easily, and that can cause someone to end up in a dangerous situation. From my point of view, it's because they're thinking about sex with you. They think you either already are so much better or you would be so much better and you would never treat them that way. 99% of the time I think about my ex is when my boyfriend does something awesome and it makes me think wow I'm so glad to be with this guy, he's genuinely special and I know from experience he's better than all these other guys. Sure, to be an asshole after sex then you have to have had sex in the first place. Not sure I agree with minority, but I'll give that a larger percentage of men than women seem to be lonely. I've seen too many average pairings (casual and long-term) to think the 80/20 rule is realistic.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/11/25 08:19 AM

Flirting can be taught, but there are different "dialects," just like with language. And nobody can really tell you what you're doing wrong without seeing it play out or a very specific description of what went on because body language, tone, and wording is a big part of it (your vibe, basically).

I don't think so. In that sort of relationship, the sub should be able to stop anything at any time. So whatever power is gained by being the dom is negated by the fact that they need the sub's consent to do anything (and sexually assaulting a client is risking your pay). Another tip: if you're trying to escalate but are unsure about their body language + afraid of ruining the mood, get close to escalating and then say "is this okay?" in a soft/low voice. The point is to make it obvious that you want it before you ask so they have time to mentally prepare. For example, you're touching her already but want to touch tiddie under shirt. Firstly, why should the exact age of sexual maturity be set at 18? Because there needs to be an age of consent and that's the one we chose for everything else. Are all those other jurisdictions "just wrong"? I'm not knowledgeable enough to make that decision, but 18 sounds better to me. But whether the optimum age for that is 18 is a matter of policy deliberation and cost-benefit analysis, not holy writ. Never said otherwise, but that wasn't the point, anyway. /r/PurplePillDebate27/10/25 02:25 AM

Yeah, that would've been good, I agree. But even if he did, this whole situation still could have happened, because consent to a kiss doesn't mean consent to anything else. That's why you escalate very slowly and ask if you're unsure, especially if it's the first time. Always better safe than sorry.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/25 02:22 AM

So like. You don't just go immediately from kissing someone (while they're crying, no less) to straight up shoving your hand down their pants. There are multiple steps in between. Slowly escalating with those in between steps and carefully watching their reactions is how you get nonverbal consent. That's not even something I would do in a relationship where I was regularly having sex with someone. I'm genuinely concerned about the pushback I've seen over this topic.

"Barely Legal" is mostly attacked by women who resent how men-like-young-women. The reason why "barely legal" is bad is because it encourages grooming/creeping on young girls. There should never ever be people counting down to a girl turning 18 or a girl opening an OF on her 18th birthday. The whole "you just hate that men don't like you because you're old now" is a strawman created so people could ignore the actual problem.

/r/PurplePillDebate26/10/25 09:36 PM

Imo, introversion is more of a personality trait. When I say I'm introverted I mean that talking to others drains my battery quickly and I need time to rest after long social events, even if I enjoyed myself. Shy is more situational, where you are hesitant or nervous about talking to people, or you don't speak a lot. So you can be introverted and not shy.

A woman can even accuse a man of SA if he wears the same tight or revealing gym outfit as her, simply because it makes her uncomfortable That's not what sexual assault is. I agree with some of the observations you're making, but not your conclusion. A video with a woman lifting weights in high waisted leggings gets a lot of attention, while with men it would probably look like a kink video: why? In my opinion, that's a result of how we as a society tend to oversexualize women, their hobbies, the…

Biking shorts. Stringy open tanktops. Shirtless men. Speedos. Compression shorts. These things leave nothing to the imagination and they're completely normal. The world isn't just pump covers and loose lifting shorts. I don't like seeing junk, but I simply avert my eyes like I do when a woman with 2" inseam shorts is on the leg press. They aren't committing a crime, so if I feel icky that's my problem.

I don't think there's necessarily anything wrong with supporting content creators. If I'm walking down the street and someone's playing music, I'll give them some money. It's not much different. Yes, some people are unhealthy about it, but they're ultimately in charge of their own life. A lot of industries encourage parasocial relationships, though, and the targets aren't only men.

First of all, cheers for being open to changing views. At one point, you mentioned women who act sweet and shy about sex but actually want casual/are experienced. Sure, some women like to act overly innocent (which imo is a kink thing and a LOT of men are into it), but I think it's more likely that they just don't feel the need to let everyone know about their sex life. Someone's preferences regarding casual sex don't tell you anything about the way they look or act, so why would you wear clothe…

I don't know anything about sex clubs, but I do know of orgies that have happened organically. Of course people you know would filter for who they want too, but that's going to be a lot more subjective and open than some rando judging you, if that's how it goes in sex clubs. Sex-positive attitudes in society would definitely get some more people into things like that. Especially if someone wants to sleep with others but would feel safer with another person there.

I looked her up but don't know more than what I read, so correct me if I'm wrong. I agree that a lot of things are just differences in interpretation, but there are some conservatives who advocate for women to lose rights like voting, owning money/property, divorce, autonomy (marital rape), and that makes me think they never thought about what it might be like without the freedoms they advocate against. No. Average is average for a reason. How you treat your partner during sex is wayyy more important. There are some women who are size queens or have specific height preferences, but to most it's not that serious. And if anyone treats you badly because of physical characteristics you can't change, they weren't gonna be a good partner anyway.

Also most autistic girls easily manage to join a friendship group of girls early in life because of the things you mentioned That is not true. Autistic girls often struggle socially.

In my fully armchair psychologist opinion, it's not that autistic women necessarily mask better, it's that they tend to mask more because the social standards for women tend to be higher in general. In dating, yeah, it's going to be hard for autistic men to be suddenly thrown into another layer of social expectations they have no experience with. I can say that men often give me a pass on behavior that I know women would find weird, so I won't deny that. But it's all just playing by social rules…

I think most men would pick 1. Only men I see picking 2 would be those who put a lot of emphasis on traditional gender roles in their lives. In reality I think most people want to share the load. Now that I think about it, if the guy was very traditional he would probably just find a traditional woman in his class to marry instead of choosing 2. With the other man, it genuinely just depends on his personality but I'd probably expect him to pick 2.

People say all sorts of things. Do the men think that's going to get them what they want? If so, then they can try it and move on if it doesn't work. Take what was useful and discard the rest. I don't think people need to change to be worthy of love, but bettering yourself is a good thing.

To me, mistreatment includes things like constantly leaving messes for me to clean up when the person is capable of doing it themselves. I've lived that, being treated like a maid. It's absolutely exhausting. Ime that's usually what women are talking about when you see "he didn't put his plate in the dishwasher, I filed for divorce." But I agree with your larger point. When someone doesn't feel like trying anymore, it's better off ending.

No. Most men aren't a good match for me, but that doesn't mean they aren't worthy of love or happiness, or that they need to change. Not that I'm encouraging stubbornness. If you want a different output you need to change the input, and compromising is fine as long as you stay true to your values. I just think change should happen as you grow and learn.

/r/PurplePillDebate08/10/25 07:26 AM

I see what you're saying, a lot of people still do follow traditional gender roles, but I don't think those studies support it very well. Neither split the answers by gender (the second only shows combined male/female responses). The first one has only ~550 participants and lacks a lot of info on their responses. If there's really no better research out there then oh well, but if there is, it might be worth putting that in instead.

Yes, this is exactly what "it'll happen when you stop looking" means (even though I think it could be worded better). You can still show interest, you just shouldn't pursue everyone all the time. Women can tell when you're desperate and it's unnatractive. I could like a guy, but if I think he's just looking for someone to fill a role, I don't want it. He doesn't actually like me, he'd take anyone.

I don't think this is a gendered issue, but an individual one based on self-esteem/ego. Plenty of both men and women think they're more or less attractive than they really are. I didnt move the goal posts, that was merely a foot note Yes, that's why I said "people" and not you. you had to add -"But if someone's intent on never changing their mind, all they're going to see is "my boyfriend is taller than me.""- because you know how it looks I didn't "have to add" it, that was the point. It's confirmation bias. The fact that I've dated and crushed on men shorter than me and my height in the past somehow doesn't matter because I'm now with someone who's taller than me. No…

its reminds me of when women have a tall boyfriend and swear she wasnt looking for height. who are yall convincing? Nobody, because then people just move the goalposts or use different women to explain why you're lying about your own preferences. I'm not looking for height. I've dated and crushed on men my height, taller than me, and shorter than me. My boyfriend is taller than me. But if someone's intent on never changing their mind, all they're going to see is "my boyfriend is taller than me."…

Interact in what way? If someone doesn't want to have even a conversation with a woman, that's worrying. Definitely something that would disrupt normal daily life.

You can't replace it, but you can learn to be happy with what you have. You just have to try harder to have close relationships with friends/family, find more fulfillment in your hobbies, do more of the things that make you happy, etc. Life is better with a partner for some, but your happiness shouldn't be dependent on someone else. At the end of the day you need to be able to rely on yourself.

I don't think male promiscuity is the issue, I think societal slut-shaming is. Our culture is both purity-obsessed and absolutely sex crazed. If we focused on sex ed, safe sex, birth control options for men and women, more in-person social spaces, and less sex shaming, we'd all have healthier and more relaxed views on sex. People can't help their natural urges, and saying men wanting sex in general is a problem would be a step backward in my eyes. If people are allowed to explore themselves in a…

/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/25 02:30 AM

The person who left the initial comment didn't mention height or dick size. It's weird to bring that up in response to their story because it's outright sexual, it insults their character, and because you're talking like you know them well enough to know when they're holding info back when you don't. If someone said this to me in real life I would actually cut contact with them.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/25 02:25 AM

Seems like it's a good split between insecurity and exes telling them they're not good enough. Not trying to minimize their issues but I honestly expected it to be more toxic like some of the other subs I've seen. You're right. I don't know what it's like for men. All I can say is that people insulting them were probably trying to hit them where they knew it would hurt the most, and you can't trust someone like that to tell the truth. I hope they end up happy, whatever they choose.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/25 02:12 AM

How can not being well endowed kill a guy's dating life before it starts? Women don't know your dick size until they're having sex with you. Edit: Just want to add that I have been downvoted a majority of the times I've shown sympathy here. I'm going to continue to do so when I'm able, but some people here turn their issues outward and it's extremely off-putting. From a woman's side of things, she definitely is, though I acknowledge what you say about men approaching all sorts of women. There's always that one girl that at least half the guys will go after. I guess it's just a lot more socially gray and hard to pick out.

Sure, it's not going to buy you a house or pay rent for you. Therapy is for when you need help processing things in a healthy way, or when your problems can't be solved by something as simple as taking on a few more hours at work. It's not numbing your awareness of real world problems, it's reframing them so they don't feel as overwhelming. Sometimes that's what actually allows you to solve them.

This is automatically attractive to women the “mean girl” is not more attractive to me Women are judged as a whole, but men are judged as individuals? The male version of the "mean girl" isn't attractive to me either. She is only the most attractive if she happens to be the hottest physically as well So... exactly what I said was the woman's version of the "contextual alpha."
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/25 03:48 AM

For a woman, being the most attractive and social would be being the "contextual alpha." Women have completely different dynamics, just because you guys don't experience them personally doesn't mean they don't exist.

Why'd you ask her to record consent? If a guy asked me that I would honestly be scared of him assaulting me. Like he was planning on using my recorded consent to discredit any accusations I made, even though if I revoked consent during sex and he kept going it would still be rape, even if I initially consented.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/25 06:46 AM
2

Well... if someone, while physically able to give consent and without being coerced, consents to a sex act and then decides they're not into it anymore after waking up the next day, that doesn't mean it was rape. Being assaulted and regretting something you did can come with a lot of the same feelings, but that doesn't mean a sex act was rape strictly because you regret it. Someone could make accusations if they really hated you, but that's not going to hold water. I get you're worried that some…
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/25 06:21 AM

Personally, I think there's a difference between that and wanting someone enough that you would act on it by asking them to hook up
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/25 06:54 PM

I'm in a relationship, so I wouldn't be friends with him after that. If I wasn't in a relationship, I'd have trouble being vulnerable with him knowing he saw me in that light, so I would keep my distance until he was either in a relationship or enough time had passed that he didn't think of me that way.

/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/25 07:24 AM

I get what you're saying. The bad part to me is that most of the time, the person that used the analogy in the first place has something against women and it ends up spreading that view. I'm taking it too seriously because I've heard the lock and key/chewed up gum/crumpled up dollar bill/used car(??) analogies my whole life to justify why women should be ridiculed for the same behavior as men and I'm tired of it. I don't have an issue with analogies in general, just ones used to put people down.…
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/25 05:49 AM

We're going in circles at this point. Agree to disagree
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/25 05:23 AM

That was pretty rude.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/25 05:20 AM

Your opinion.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/25 05:07 AM

Or the analogy just doesn't work and people try too hard to compare humans to objects to make their point work. I agree with your second paragraph. On a societal level, women who sleep around aren't viewed positively. So why not just say that in the first place?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/25 05:05 AM

Using it doesn't mean it's valid either. I could compare men's dicks to pencils and women's vaginas to pencil sharpeners. Now what does that say about human behavior? Nothing, because I just made that shit up and humans aren't pencils.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/25 05:03 AM

It's an analogy that compares people to objects. When you base someone's worth on how well they perform as an object, the analogy doesn't work.

I think people take the 50/50 model way too literally. Both people should be putting in equal amounts of effort and agree on a split that's fair to them. That isn't always exactly 50/50. If I just had a kid and I'm doing most of the chores and covering half the bills, I'm putting in way more than 50%, so he's either going to have to compensate by paying that much more of the bills or doing more kid duty/housework. On paper it might seem like he's putting in more than 50% when he pays the bills, …
/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/25 09:28 PM

Yeah, that happens. I just look for people who can communicate with me like an adult and don't get involved with anyone who plays games. They're harder to find, but it's a lot less stressful when you do.

/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/25 08:40 PM

The best concrete example I can think of are countries where women don't have rights and men are allowed to do pretty much anything. They respect each other simply because they're men and don't respect women because they were born weaker and so their "natural" place is beneath men. Other than that, this kind of thing does happen every day where men are given respect for just being men and not women, but since there are laws against outright discrimination in workplaces, etc it's almost never exp…

/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/25 08:29 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/25 07:36 PM

Who cares what someone subconsciously wants? It's not like you can change their mind. All that matters is what they tell you. If that doesn't match up with what you want in a partner, they're just not for you.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/25 07:30 PM

I know some people ask their partner about specifics like that. Imo that's not healthy if you're going to use what you learn to compare yourself to their previous relationships, but hey, that's their choice.

Huh, I dunno. Now that I'm thinking about it, I imagine "actually I just got engaged" complete with a fake ring and a big smile would be the best deterrent in the world, with the bonus of being kinda hilarious lol. You'd have to be stupid to want to fuck with a guy who just proposed.

is willing to break hard rules for you I'd see someone breaking hard rules for me as a sign that they need to work on having better boundaries, especially if they're doing it early on in the relationship. How can you trust someone fully if they don't respect themselves enough to say no or communicate when something's wrong?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/25 11:45 PM

What...? Edit: Nevermind, I finally processed what you were saying lol. These responses would escalate the situation, they're more of a last resort. Not worth the risk using them on a stranger if you can just let whatever boyfriend they imagine scare them off for you. But I'm always prepared to start barking and foaming at the mouth if needed lmao.

That's why I put it in quotes. It isn't really "right" because everyone should be able to decide for themselves when the right time is, but it is the societally acceptable way. It's generally seen as the norm for serious relationships to wait, so if you want a LTR, you might have that expectation. Personally I think a guy who will ghost after sleeping with him on day one will ghost you after waiting 2 months anyway.

I didn't know some guys considered not getting sex on the same timeline as a previous relationship as being treated worse. I can't say I agree, but I do understand the viewpoint now. Thanks for explaining.

I also think honesty is the best policy, but when I tried just saying "no" guys wouldn't stop. I'd end up giving out my socials or number and blocking them after (which obviously isn't safe). "I have a boyfriend" is the most reliable way to get them to leave you alone because these dudes come prepared to pester you if you say no. They don't care what you want, they only care about a potential ass beating. There have been a couple times guys would keep pressing even after I told them I had a boyf…

So what she's slept with guys early on in the past and regretted it so now she wants to play it safe and do things the "right" way? (I've even seen countless times on this sub that women need to learn from their bad experiences, is this not exactly that?) What bearing does any of that have on her relationship with you? This feels like a roundabout way to say get…

Yes, some do. But that's cruel and childish, and although you should take steps to protect yourself from people who act like that, it's not a reason to deny yourself something that would make you happy. Most women aren't going to do that. Dating in general is scary because people can be horrible and you could waste your time, but that's a risk you take.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/25 09:13 PM

To clarify, this sinking feeling is because you have to let the interaction play out knowing the whole time you're going to reject them. I don't think that's what he's saying. It reads to me like he wants to go out with his partner in addition to them having girls nights. He didn't say his partner was his only friend or that he wanted her to stop going out with her friends. I do agree with you, though, and I could be reading things wrong. And a lot of people don't want to be touched right off the bat, right? I know both women and men who wouldn't be okay with someone coming up and touching them just because they found them attractive. I wouldn't be okay with that. As a woman, in that situation I could walk up, say hi, get close to the guy and see if he backs away/looks uncomfortable and then touch him, but you shouldn't go around touching people before you've said anything to them.

I feel like you might be conflating OP's post with others' opinions, because I took it a completely different way. Creepy behavior would be things like harrassment, assault, etc. You can have a direct approach while still getting consent from whoever you're approaching, and women can absolutely be perpetrators of sexual violence.

I honestly think this depends on how much life experience/dating experience you have. The more experienced you are, the earlier you'll be able to see what they're all about. But I feel like you need to live with someone to truly know them. How many date until sex would be ok? Up to the individuals Do you believe in the Halo/Horn effect? Also, it is not uncommon for many female PhDs to be perpetually single. I know many such women as a PhD grad myself. They either end up with a PhD man, or they stay single. Do you think part of this is because some men prefer a woman who is less educated/makes less money than them?

I think even parental love is conditional for some, but I agree. I don't think it's healthy to give your all to someone no matter what they do or don't do, or how they change. In a partnership you need boundaries, otherwise you're pretty much giving people permission to abuse you.
