Basically it comes down to consent, barring medical issues like the ones you stated. A circumcision is an unneeded medical procedure which is performed on someone who is unable to consent to the surgery.

I'm really surprised as to the relationship graphic, I'd like to see how this compares to the whole of reddit. I would of expected more people to be in a relationship/married.

In my opinion it isn't, there will always be disparity in certain fields. This disparity should be allowed to exist in any profession where it isn't detrimental to society.

Everyone's downvoting you but you are correct. The way sexual harassment rules at my workplace are written basically state that if it makes you feel uncomfortable it's harassment. I don't agree with this but this is a fact.

The fact is there will be some disparity, has anyone considered the fact that more women go into nursing, and more men go into engineering because this is simply what they enjoy and want to go into. Hell the school I currently attend has a 70:30 gender ratio in favor of guys, is this sexist, no it isn't, it's an effect of what majors are offered. Further more the sex ratio of our population isn't 1:1 it's closer to .97 male to 1 female. This discrepancy in itself decreases this gap from 10 milli…

He should of added in the rate of reporting of sexual assault. MR's shouldn't keep using bad statistics. The number could very well be in the 1 in 200-300 range. That's my only complaint with the article however, it was well thought out on his part, just thought his numbers might be a bit off.

Everyone is gonna tear me apart for this but the other people you are competing against could simply have better qualifications than you. The reason men dominate a number of STEM fields is because more men go to college to get degrees in this, because of this men are statistically better suited for jobs in these areas. Another thing to consider is you're possibly over qualified and they simply don't want to hire you because they'd have to pay you more than someone with a BA.

I had a coworker who used to work in hiring for a fortune 500 company. She told me that at one point they were flat out told on the down low to trash all white male applications so the company could become more diverse.

If I a judge in one state gives sentences me to pay child support I'm still obligated to pay no matter what state I move to. If I get married in one state my a local judge that contract should hold up and be honored in other states.

Not really, the fact that some states have passed laws specifically stating that same-sex marriages from other states won't be honored in their state shows this isn't a 10th amendment issue. Because the fact that states are supposed to honor other states contracts, states don't have the right to pick and choose when it comes to these matters, it says so right in the constitution.

Well in that case there should be men only classes for these cultures, as the women are subservent to the men and don't belong in a learning environment according to their cultural views. When I put it that way it seems rather silly to cater to other cultures bullshit views.

While the arguments he made are post-birth, consider other things. If my wife got pregnant I would still have responsibilities pre-birth. Including but not limited to increased work around the home, more work to make ends meet, medical bills arising from pregnancy, time spent taking wife to hospital, etc. (Note I'm not married I just wrote this in 1st person to make it easier to articulate.)

Because the job involves teaching children, males being underrepresented in this specific line of work has a detriment to all children.

Yet female janitors are allowed in male bathrooms and vice versa. I don't believe this would be a fair argument.

I wouldn't limit that to only those who are circumcised. Since circumcision is standard procedure in many areas simply being male suggests your foreskin should be cut off.

See this is one tradition I don't understand, if it's based off of God telling Abraham to circumcise himself why isn't it the adult who makes this same promise to God. I guess this is just the way I was raised though, my parents didn't have me baptized, instead they raised me christian and explained to me what it meant to be baptized at a young age and told me whenever I wanted to be baptized I could.

I agree with you that further restrictions are needed. However, I don't believe the restrictions you mentioned would be lawful. Making it harder for people to purchase guns in general wouldn't break the second amendment in my opinion, however if you look at the precedent set in the Roe vs. Wade case even these laws may be deemed to restrictive. "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed" This say…

The issue with this petition is that it calls for the end of SS, it does not require women to register. SS is in place for a specific reason, personally I believe it should exist. I know a lot of people who believe it should exist as well, possibly this is the reason the petition has so few signatures.

Actually she was a friend who had to much to drink and I was helping her back to her dorm room. I was driving and she was in the passenger seat, I did my best to prevent her from grabbing my penis. I couldn't exactly restrain her while driving, I had everyone's well being in mind. No matter how violated I felt I wasn't about to put everyone's life in danger.

Scarred might be a bit strong of a word, but it definitely upset me, this girl was a friend who had simply had to much to drink one night, and I was helping her home. And yes it was awkward as fuck especially seeing as my girlfriend was with me at the time.

Hey bud I guarantee I get a lot more than you do, and btw your an idiot if you think women can't rape men. I personally had a drunk chick continuously shove her hands down my pants and grab my dick despite the fact that I continuously removed her hands and told her to stop.

I really can't speak for how many people this happens to because all statistics of this nature are so biased because of the number of people who don't talk about them. I would like to see more publication of things of this nature because like I showed the road goes both ways. However I think the more appropriate thing to be publicizing would be responsible drinking, people need to realize they are still responsible for their actions while inebriated.

While I wouldn't by any means qualify what happened to me was rape, but I would consider it sexual assault. A few months ago I was drinking with some friends and one of them got quite inebriated. She was stumbling kinda bad but she wasn't pass out drunk so we got took her back to her dorm room. While driving her to her dorm she continuously felt up my leg and genital area through my pants. Once we got her back to her room I stayed with her for a while to make sure she was ok, during this time sh…

This past summer me and my girlfriend both applied to the same internship, we're in the same major. I had a 3.7 while she had a 3.4. I had much more work experience outside of typical high school jobs. Including working in construction work based around electrical work, substations, wind turbines, and in manufacturing facilities. Along with a gov't job through the census bureau all while in high school and my first summer after freshman year of college. She had only ever worked at Tim Horton's. …

The way I read it was they were asking for permission to send him paperwork to sign up for SS when he turned 18, also as I stated I believe both males and females should be required to sign up.

Out of curiosity why do you believe there should be no SS?
/r/MensRights29/08/12 05:15 PM

What is wrong with this? The SS is there for a reason, it shouldn't be abolished. As the law stands your son must register for the SS and should, however I also believe everyone should have to register females included.

Just wanted to say it kinda goes both ways. I didn't realize I was uncut until middle school during wrestling season, this is when someone noticed and I started to get so much shit over being different. I was seriously bullied to the point where I beat the shit out of a kid on my team for saying shit (I just snapped 1 day), quit and at this point was very close to suicide. I believe cases such as this are created by penis envy/being different then others. What I take out of something like this i…

I had the same thought while reading the article, not only do they not include the cost of the initial circumcision, they fail to account for secondary medical expenses created by circumcisions.

But you can force someone to die, but not go through moderate discomfort? Yes most of the time it is moderate discomfort disregarding labor, not to mention there are numerous things such as health care, reduced work hours, maternity leave, and in the case where the father wants the child a loving SO/husband who is doing his utmost to take care of the babie and it's mother which includes the physical and financial reprucussions of a child. My point is even if it's moderately uncomfortable, like I…

I completely disagree BC is a form of preventitive care which unfortunately is uncommon with today's health care system. A little cost for prevention relieves a huge amount of stress from the healthcare system. For example BC decreases unplanned pregnancies and abortion costs, health screenings decrease heart attack rates and other serious illnesses that cost way more to get rid of down the road.

A lot of people say because it is the women's body. Personally I disagree with this argument (not including serious health issues), yes a baby will directly effect a women's body, however people fail to consider the side effects a pregnancy will have on a man (assuming he is trying to be a part of the babies life). Yes a pregnancy creates moderate discomfort for a women, however insurance and maternity leave help to alieviate this physical/mental stress on the women. What about the time an invol…

I think that it is a tradition and there should be a name change, I do however disagree with the assumption in our society that it should be the women who changes her name.

There are a lot of little things like this that some people will always call sexist you just have to learn to deal with it. I always get the door for people male or female, to me it's simply common courtesy. Another example of people making a fuss out of nothing is giving up your seat for an older woman on a bus, again to me this is common courtesy. I was raised to give anyone older than me who wasn't in the best of health my seat.I don't discriminate based on sex, however some people will alway…

For me it was in 12th grade in AP gov't when we had a feminist come in to talk about wage disparity, I could see huge gaps in her arguments and statistics she used but didn't say anything for fear of being ostrized or recieving a bad grade.

To try and help you out I'll tell you my personal story regarding this. I went through a ton of shit during middle school for being uncut when some kids on my wrestling team found out I was uncut. I was seriously bullied for this. I eventually got up the courage to talk to my dad about why they didn't have me cut and he simply said that he believed it was the right thing to do, and then proceeded to tell me I'm not gonna try to convince you either way. He told me to use the internet to find out …
