In the women-only class, ironically, the only instructor is a man. The "problem" is not the instructor but the partner. But I also think that, if men-only classes were opened, those men would be ashamed to go there, too. There would likely be no student, not because noone wants to join, but because noone dares to. If you let men in, you'll have like 1 man for 10 women (because even if men are victim of these too, they are a minority and, even in that minority, only a small portion will take action, because admitting you're a victim of abuse as a man is frowned upon). They opened women-only classes because it was asked for: "yeah, I'd like to try that self-defense thing, but I'm very uncomfortable doing it with men", and in that specific case I totally get it (mimicking agression when you've been agressed can be very difficult).
