We both agree that authentic manhood is in crisis, both agree that stereotypical representations in the media are just a symptom. All we really disagree on is how we got here. I place the blame squarely on men, baby boomer men specifically (but that's for another time) ... you place the blame on a unidirectional gender discourse. There are "males leading" but that is not the same thing at all. I simply state that the stereotypical portrayal of men as incapable simpletons "will continue because sadly, a lot of it is true about a lot of males." I never assert that men have resigned themselves to it, only that we should, as men, rebut and reject these stereotypes whenever possible.
