Abuse is abuseMy brother in law's dad got murdered by his girlfriend. She had anger issues, was a raging alcoholic, and had a knife. Poor guy didn't stand a chance. Your statistics sure didn't help him. But actual domestic abuse resources available to men might have. | /r/MensRights | 14/05/21 02:46 AM
Saddening truth"to give me a way to kill bad people" ... That is a terrifying and horrific line of thought. | /r/MensRights | 14/12/18 01:21 AM
Divorce rates are down, because marriages are down.Oh I fully agree, and just because you're married doesn't mean it's a good relationship either of course. I just think that one of the key reasons the number of marriages is down is that in general people are less willing to take the step of publically making a commitment that they intend to keep for life, opting instead to keep it private between the couple and hope it lasts but if not, that's just how it goes sometimes. Really I think the general understanding of marriage and family is becomin… | /r/MensRights | 26/09/18 01:09 AM
Divorce rates are down, because marriages are down.Eh, I don't see how fewer marriages equals "progress". The commitment of marriage makes for stronger families, stronger father-child bonds, and more rights for the father. The growing tendency toward non-commitment just serves to further the idea that women don't owe their partner (or their children's father) anything. Yeah divorces are down, but you can't tell me breakups and abandonment of men, where they have virtually no legal rights, aren't on the rise. | /r/MensRights | 25/09/18 06:03 PM
Have you ever been discriminated because you are male? When I was in a crisis and was looking for support for emotional abuse in a relationship, every single resource was exclusively for women. The only thing that mentioned men was for men who are concerned that their own abusive behaviour was a problem. I did not receive help. When I was pursuing a career path that would involve some interaction with children, I can't count the number of times people made jokes right to my face saying, "Oh so you like to touch little boys eh?" I've never heard that… | /r/MensRights | 17/06/18 06:17 PM

Have you ever been treated unfairly because you are a guy? (x-post /r/AskMen)Yeah, it wasn't worth it. I didn't have any documented proof and I got my license the next time anyway. In any case, I'm sure she wasn't going to be there much longer because she was like 70 already. | /r/MensRights | 30/06/13 08:16 AM
Have you ever been treated unfairly because you are a guy? (x-post /r/AskMen)The question was "Have you ever been treated unfairly because you are a guy?" I answered the question. | /r/MensRights | 30/06/13 08:15 AM
Have you ever been treated unfairly because you are a guy? (x-post /r/AskMen)Absolutely. When I went to take my road test to get my driver's license, my evaluator (a retired, cranky old woman) told me with a straight face: "I always fail males on the first try" and gave the pseudo-reason that it's because they tend to be worse drivers. I was shocked, and thought she must be joking. I took my test and, lo and behold, I was failed and not even given a reason in terms of road violations (which is illegal). And I was not alone, as several of my male friends also got her as t… | /r/MensRights | 29/06/13 06:21 PM
