| -9 | Feminists claim rape can end if boys are taught to respect womenYeah, same for murder. We should just give up on all those ancient, hard to stop crimes, like stealing and slander and blackmail. /sarcasm | /r/MensRights | 06/01/13 01:08 AM |
| -3 | "We document large differences in the gender gap across key features of the home environment – boys do especially poorly in broken families."Cite your b.s. numbers or kindly stfu. Oops! Forgot which subreddit I was on, here in magic pretend MRAland where empirical evidence can be invented via personal anecdotes and bogus data! You've made nothing but empty assertions. People like you undermine any validity your movement may actually have. | /r/MensRights | 06/01/13 12:58 AM |
| 1 | So, a Sexual Assault occured on my campus....Forced to penetrate could also be a male raping a male. Also think about the international sex trade, comprised mostly of women and children being bought and sold by men for men. Also the sex tourist countries were foreign business men go to release their more base desires on the native children and women. | /r/MensRights | 02/09/12 01:39 AM |
| 2 | So, a Sexual Assault occured on my campus....Yeah, I actually just pulled that link up. I was also quite disappointed. Very far from scientific. :( It still doesn't mute the point that abusive fathers have been awarded custody; though on the flip I'm also sure there are cases when abusive mothers were also awarded custody. There are so many areas of our society that need a healthy dose of scientific investigation. The heart of our nation's issues lies in education; we need to train more smart minds and prepare them for the task of analyzin… | /r/MensRights | 01/09/12 10:40 PM |
| 2 | So, a Sexual Assault occured on my campus....Couldn't find anything on their site anywhere near that antiman. Do you have sources for your claim? | /r/MensRights | 01/09/12 09:42 PM |
| 2 | So, a Sexual Assault occured on my campus....I think we can both agree that there are fathers that are unfit parents, and there are mothers that are unfit parents. I don't think any feminist would argue that the women is automatically the best choice in any scenario. Who are these crazy feminists you're talking about and where did you find them? The '60s? I think most females empathize with men on the issue of circumcision; just look at female mutilation, a practice designed to keep women from enjoying sex and thus make them more faithful … | /r/MensRights | 01/09/12 09:15 PM |
| 2 | So, a Sexual Assault occured on my campus....That is terrible and we should fight it together. Why do you need a separate movement to fight for social justice? Men's Rights encourages ingroup/outgroup thinking. I'm not saying that most of the causes are injust, because I agree with most all of them. I don't like what the title of the movement encourages, and a small smattering of the misogynists who wave the banner of men's rights as a thin guise for their sexism. | /r/MensRights | 01/09/12 08:13 PM |
| 1 | So, a Sexual Assault occured on my campus....I believe most males are raped in prison. I'm not saying this is right by any means, but evidence points to this being the case. http://www.feministe.us/blog/archives/2012/02/20/is-the-united-states-the-only-country-where-more-men-are-raped-every-year-than-women/ Let's talk sexual assault by free citizens who are not working within our broken penitentiary system. Do you have to states on that? | /r/MensRights | 01/09/12 08:01 PM |
| 1 | What the Canadian/Quebec Government thinks of Fathers..I can't say I disagree with anything posted here. Perhaps I had the purpose of this subreddit wrong. I got my wrong impression from the posts that were on the front page at the time. The impression I got from many of the posts I glanced and the comments which I read more thoroughly, is many of the people here are promoting only their own self interests. Instead of being anti-feminists, why not join them and fight for equality of all? I know gender stereotypes hurt everyone, and feminists were th… | /r/MensRights | 01/09/12 07:51 PM |
| 3 | So, a Sexual Assault occured on my campus....I disagree with your statement that only sex-based offences stigmatize regardless of final verdict. What about drunk driving? What about theft and larceny? What about insurance fraud or tax evasion? What about Obama's birth certificate? Whenever anyone is publicly accused of a crime, it can tarnish their record. | /r/MensRights | 01/09/12 07:40 PM |
| 2 | So, a Sexual Assault occured on my campus....You assume a lot about my beliefs of rape, and I believe none of those things you listed, except that yes I believe women have it worse because generally men are larger than women and can more easily restrain a woman one on one. If you read the rest of my comment, I said the reported numbers are sadly not reliable because many men and women who have been raped do not report the incident out of shame. The defense is not about women having it way worse. But men don't get pregnant from rape, so I'd… | /r/MensRights | 01/09/12 05:07 PM |
| 6 | So, a Sexual Assault occured on my campus....The law? Is that not the purpose of its existence? To define and enforce societal norms of behavior, ensuring the rights of all humanity, including the minorities despite the loud majority voice, so longs as they do not trample on the rights and lives of others. But our current congress has passed more legislation about reproductive rights than any other political topic. Women should be left the free right to decide, and we should be focusing on other political issues like equal education opport… | /r/MensRights | 01/09/12 03:37 PM |
| 2 | What the Canadian/Quebec Government thinks of Fathers..Why couldn't you have replied with this well reasoned argument the first time? You were stirring the pot and creating more division instead of working to bring both sides together. That kind of attitude doesn't care about finding permanent solutions for how our society can function for the good of all humanity. No one is advocating for men because men have always been able to advocate for themselves. If we ignore the small issues and fix the big issues, I claim that the solutions to the big prob… | /r/MensRights | 01/09/12 02:11 PM |
| 2 | So, a Sexual Assault occured on my campus....I'm not sure when this would come up in real life when there are so many other minorities who are facing real persecution (by that I mean threat of life and limb). I'm not saying that men don't face issues. I'm saying we should be having a discussion about equality for all, not equality for the half of the population which has been in power for all of recorded history. You say of course everyone is concerned with the high assault rate, but no one here says that in the comments and focuses on the… | /r/MensRights | 01/09/12 01:59 PM |
| 3 | So, a Sexual Assault occured on my campus....You raise a valid point, and I completely agree with you. However, just because charges are dropped doesn't mean he was innocent. Going through the legal process can be very difficult for the rape victim, and sometimes it's easier to drop charges and settle out of court. I agree the counts of women lying about rape are too high, but higher still are the actual cases of rape which are trivialized and marginalized by our legal system, probably as a direct result of all the false reports of rape. B… | /r/MensRights | 01/09/12 01:26 PM |
| 1 | What the Canadian/Quebec Government thinks of Fathers..I'm not dismissing your arguments wholesale. I'm dismissing the majority of the ones I read. Also, your were silly, and wasn't so much an argument as a list of true statements without any critical thinking or analysis about what those statements should mean for our society. Do you disagree with me that we should be looking for our common ground? You perceive me as attacking when I am trying to show similarities in the cause of the different gender struggles. I don't think you understand what I'm… | /r/MensRights | 01/09/12 03:38 AM |
| 0 | What the Canadian/Quebec Government thinks of Fathers..I think feminists persecute you because of the quality of your argument, not merely because you disagree. You're waving around a banner of hate, not of finding commonalities and opportunities to cooperate and stand in solidarity for all humans, not just the few who have been privileged in the past. The legal and educational systems are also skewed against women in real documented cases. And racial minorities. And lgbt. And those with disabilities. I've been in the trenches, and I know. I guess I… | /r/MensRights | 01/09/12 03:16 AM |
| 3 | So, a Sexual Assault occured on my campus....I believe there are male victims of rape, but I believe that rape of women is much more common. However it is difficult to make real statements because many victims of rape are too humiliated to report the crime, or somehow rationalize that they somehow deserved what happened. I believe in gender equality, much different from saying all individuals are identical, and I believe there are good and bad people in both camps. Can the good of us find some common ground and work together to define some… | /r/MensRights | 01/09/12 03:06 AM |
| 1 | What the Canadian/Quebec Government thinks of Fathers..After talking to my male friends about it and reviewing scientific studies, I realized I was lied to as a child, and circumcision really has no purpose beside religion, and therefore should never be forced upon a small child. This subreddit makes me more than uneasy because it focuses so much on the male perspective and doesn't seem to acknowledge the battle of any other minority groups as so many other humanist groups often do. I feel like the rest of reddit is already dedicated to the male per… | /r/MensRights | 01/09/12 02:39 AM |
| -1 | What the Canadian/Quebec Government thinks of Fathers..Women also "have" all those rights. Female genitalia mutilation is very common in India and other countries and various pockets of cultures. Why specify men have those rights as if you are not in the same struggle as the rest of humanity? Gender stereotypes hurt everyone. Let's find out common ground instead of drawing lines over gender issues. If you're really not wanting to add anything besides passive aggressive sarcasm, you're proving my point about mensrights being a bunch of trolls who sho… | /r/MensRights | 01/09/12 02:26 AM |
| -1 | What the Canadian/Quebec Government thinks of Fathers..I didn't realize I was being sarcastic. Gender stereotypes hurt everyone, and we currently have barbaric, ancient, unscientific views of both genders. I don't think you have to call the right to equality a men's rights movement when men have always had the rights. There was once a need to call it a woman's rights movement because men held all political, social, religious and economic power. I fail to see the need for a men's rights movement in our current age, especially against the backdrop of … | /r/MensRights | 01/09/12 12:51 AM |
| -1 | So, I was talking to a friend about to turn 18, when this exchange happened.Gender stereotypes hurt both genders. Perhaps if the military were a safer, friendlier place for women (aka not being sexually assaulted by peers on base) there would be enough volunteers for service and the draft would not be necessary. If the US army isn't large enough without both genders volunteering, perhaps we should stop war mongering overseas for cheap fuel and resources. imho | /r/MensRights | 01/09/12 12:17 AM |
| -1 | So, a Sexual Assault occured on my campus....No one seems concerned with the high assault count on that campus. Over half the girls are telling the truth. While I agree, some people are idiots, and some idiots just happen to be female who will try to abuse the system and they are caught. That still leaves a lot of cases deemed valid, and doesn't that terrify you more than the desperate, dumb liars? Desperate, dumb and violent people who would physically assault another and could cause so much harm to that one individual compared to poor yo… | /r/MensRights | 01/09/12 12:14 AM |
