I am a woman who has spent most of her life in normal gender roles: stay at home mom and wife, persuing perfection in cooking, raising the kids and making my entire life about my family. It was very lonely and I was unhappy for most of it. I decided to go to college and get a job. I am much happier now. My sister in law is a stay at home mom. She loves it and is very happy. My mother in law held a job the entire time her children were growing up, and she always wanted to be a stay at home mom/wi…

It's unfortunate, though. In this situation, it is a double edged sword in a lose/lose situation. Because the woman is jaded from repeat harassment and having to learn to shut down advances before they even start (and for women, these situations can get very scary very quickly), she misses many great opportunities to get to know great men. The man, on the other hand, has no way of knowing why he is being shut down so harshly. Because he does not know, he internalizes this and takes it personally…

I've also seen girls who are painfully shy and awkward, oftent…

I give my husband a similar ultimatum: hold down a job or find someone else to fuck. We have a great relationship with the understanding that I need stability (I also work, but he makes more money) and that he needs his desires met with enthusiasm (he also meets my desires, but they are less time consuming than his). Honestly, this mentality of 'you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours' has resulted in one of the most trusting, deep relationships I have ever had. I think when two people unders…

I don't hold my SO to unrealistically high standards. Putting his laundry in the basket instead of on the floor isn't an unrealistically high standard, unless your an asshole. And this isn't relegated to just women. There are thousands of posts on r/askwomen or r/relationships where men asks questions that go something like this: 'I really want my significant other to do X more in bed, but she doesn't seem to care. How do I explain to her that it's important to me/make her more comfortable with …

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
